And not even any food or drinks yet. Might want to refinance your mortgage.

Back in the Dark Ages when I was 12. (1950) my mother would give me a quarter. The Saturday Matinee ( most likely something inappropriate for kids, we watched Ray Milland in Lost Weekend. Look it up.) was 12 cents. A coke and a candy bar were 5 cents each. This was at the Leimert Theater in Los Angeles.

I haven’t been to a movie theater since around the mid-1990’s. I wait for the video release if it’s something I really want to see.

I was curious about tickets to a concert, and the venue’s site sent me to Ticketmaster… Ticketmaster’s fees were over 30% of the price (and the venue charged for parking on top of that) so I did not purchase… but Ticketmaster forced me to sign up before it would reveal its prices, so now Ticketmaster spams me with advertisements for every show in my area. The show I originally was curious about ended up getting cancelled (with “no refunds” stated – just a credit IF the show is rescheduled) but Ticketmaster kept spamming me for that show for months after it was cancelled.

Gotten to the point where I don’t see movies that I want to invest 40 dollars on. I’m old and the movies I like aren’t playing anymore.Streaming is a beautiful thing.
