    We once went to one where the ( very young) hostess had 4 couples sit at the dining room table. She then passed potato chips ( in the bag) and cheese on crackers. Her husband passed out martinis. We sat there awkwardly and sipped our weak drinks. The party lasted about an hour and a half when all of us remembers we had to go home.

    I’ve read about a lot of these No Food dinners online. My mother would serve enough food to feed an army!!

    If you are going to invite someone to a diner party at least try to have a dinner available. If you can’t afford a dinner, invite just for snacks, play some games, watch a sports event or movie. I am not a cook but can at least know how to thaw basics and dress them up.

    When I’m invited somewhere, I never bring myself. I’d be shunned or reported to the cops.
