You better learn how to live with waiting, kid since you have no choice. But time passes so slowly for little kids. I remember when I was little, the 2 weeks leading up to Christmas were the longest 2 weeks in the world.
In the second panel, it sounds just like some adult kids today that are very impatient and want it “now”. If everything was given to them right now – what’s left to work for?
At sevety-four, I feel like April sometimes, like wished it was the first Tuesday after the first Monday 2028 and inauguration day 2029 when a new president is sworn in and not DJT or JDV.
Having something to look forward to is important. Once it’s past, life can look very bleak. Unless you have something else to look forward to lined up, and sooner or later, you won’t.
I think she is really sweet. Still innocent at this age, it makes up for the impatience. Adults nowadays have the same behavior… But they should know better! Like a good meal, it takes time to prepare, anticipation to have, before enjoying the actual thing and rejoicing for it. Nowadays, quick gratification exists but enjoyment and rejoicing have gone by, almost forgotten, as time flows by unnoticed until it’s too late.

April’s song:
Gooses
Geeses
I want my geese to lay gold eggs for Easter
John: It will sweetheart!
April:At least a hundred a day.
John:Anything you say!
April:And by the way…
John:What?
April: I want a feast!
John:You ate before you came to the factory.
April: I want a bean feast.
John: Oh, one of those.
April:Cream buns and doughnuts and fruit cake with no nuts. So good you could go nuts!
John: You can have all those things when you get home!
April: No, now!
I want a ball!
I want a party!
Pink macaroons and a million balloons and performing baboons and, give it to me-
NOW!!
I want the world
I want the whole world!
I want to lock it all up in my pocket
It’s my bar of chocolate
Give it to me now!
I want today,
I want tomorrow!
I want to wear ‘em like braids in my hair and I don’t want to share them
I want a party with a room full of laughter
Ten thousand tons of ice-cream.
And if I don’t get the things I am after
I’m going to scream!
I want the works,
I want the whole works,
Presents and prizes and sweets and surprises
Of all shapes and sizes
and NOW!
Don’t care how, I want it now!
Don’t care how, I want it now!
