That’s the problem with a lot of kids, their parents put them into so many activities they forget to enjoy being a kid. I do agree that children should be involved in activities, but not so many.
My daughter has 3 school age children. They are involved in gymnastics, dance, speech, math (girls) and hockey, football, debate, shooting (boy). Mom & Dad have 3 free weekends a year – Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years. Sports runs through the summer too. Now that the oldest is driving, she takes her siblings to their commitments which is a huge help to Mom & Dad.
Whatever happened to escaping school and having time to live. Now kids have homework, pressure of social media, and the other myriad of growing up. Let’s back the rocket from the launch pad and get rid of homework k-6. Give this precious time to learn, grow and play marbles or hopskotch. And parents should require their kids to spend a minimum of one hour a day outdoors and off of their phone.

Or you could catch up on being a kid when you retire.

Seems like an awfully busy schedule for a young child.
