When the apples were small in the trees, some would fall every day. I’d use a rake like a lacrosse stick and lob them into the woods. My golden retriever Molly would chase them, and, if one landed in brush, she’d stick her head in there. Her tail would circle in excitement. That tail movement was only used for that particular game. One day, she was dreaming and her tail started circling. No one can tell me that dogs don’t dream.
