    There are giant abandoned factories where mechanical adding machines and comptometers were made. I have one of the first portable digital adding machines made.

    My dad taught me how to multiply on an adding machine. It involved pulling the lever many times. My father in law was an industrial designer. He worked for a company that made mechanical calculators, adding machines, and cash registers.
