To be fair, if they had only tried to wrench the ball out of his glove, probably not a big deal. One fan grabbed his glove and wouldn’t let go. The other fan grabbed his other arm to prevent him from defending himself. That was actual assault and could have seriously injured Betts – shoulder, hands, elbows, etc. I despise the Dodgers almost as much as the Yankees, but you don’t get to lay your hands on a player and those two should be vilified, not celebrated.

Incident I saw at Yankee-Red Sox game in the Bronx.
Sox right fielder Dwight Evans hits 2-run homer in 1st inning.
Bottom of first,he squeezes into the VERY narrow right field foul territory chasing a ball—-somebody threw beer in his face.
Red Sox 3rd—in next at bat,Evans hits even longer 2-run homer
