Lynn’s Comments {on her website} : When I was 16, I got a part-time job at a big Vancouver department store. It was Christmas and I was in the jewellery department. What surprised me was the number of men who came in at the last minute on December 24th looking for something for their wives!
The Golden Eagle ( my S.S. pension cheque ) flies on Christmas Day this year. I’m praying it will fly earlier and land in my bank account on Christmas Eve or else Santa’s sled is gonna have a major breakdown!
“In God We Trust – All Others Pay Cash!” I don’t use charge or credit cards unless it’s a dire emergency. If I need something, I pay cash or debit card. I never have to dread the January bills.
I figured it was the anticipation of the flood of kids that will be coming in for their annual dental checkup during Christmas school break and before the end of the year and the start of a new deductable for the year.
Around the time this strip was originally written, my bosses would give me money and a shopping list and get me to do their shopping for them. They used to tip me very generously to do this extra chore for them. I was younger then and didn’t mind the store crowds.

For the first time, my husband & I got our shopping for our daughters almost done this weekend! We usually don’t even start until mid-month.

Is that still an issue with online shopping? I’m figuring it is.

John already paid for Michael’s apartment, so that is done.
Elizabeth was moping during the family vacation and April killed Farley, so that gets them on the bad list and no presents!

John can get Michael and all his friends a “White Dudes for Harris” T-shirt. Cheap and plentiful from across the border!
