On the plus side Fred, you can go out tomorrow in the same garb!

Isn’t that always the way? You get all dressed up in nice duds and look great, and you see no one you know. You go the next time dressed, shall we say, a little too comfy and looking a bit of a mess and you run into everyone you know in the world. You can try again, though. Plenty of opportunities to wear the new coat and for her to wear the new outfit.

Never mind. You can always promenade tomorrow.

Oh no, Fred! How disappointing!!! My grandparents from former Stettin’s higher society (before ww2) would have put it like that: “die neuen Klamotten spazieren tragen” (something like: carry the new togs for a walk).

Fred you were out and about with a loved one ! Enjoy the day for what it was ;-)

The last time I ran into someone I knew while out and about was 20+ years ago. Not counting people who have dogs I know.

Conversely, when you’re not looking your best, you’ll run into at least one person you know that you haven’t seen for a while

As others have commented, never give up hope, Fred ;)

On morning walks, often it was good to meet friends of all types. But sometimes a quiet walk was just the ticket. Not the same as Fred’s experience today…it just reminded me of that for some reason.

Awww…

Except for super occasions, such as the Kentucky Derby, do women or even men actually wear nice hats anymore?

Awww…

But just wait; some day you will have to dash out to run a quick errand and won’t bother about how you look because you’re in a hurry.

That will be the day that you bump in to each and every person you’ve ever known in your LIFE!

My deepest sympathies!!

Don’t despair ……. Fred ….. you’ll just have to go out again tomorrow ….. :)
