At least she can. Me, I can’t be alone for more than two hours, and at that I have an alarm button from our security company, and hubby’s cousins are across the street. That and I love hubby’s company.
Pleased for you. I am always at home, by myself, apart from visits from my family members, occasionally. We are all growing old. Perhaps I should get a pet (like Gary’s ex-pet).
Military husband was often elsewhere, then there was business trips and finally a job on the other side of the world for 10 years (he did come home every few months). I was happy with my “no human contact” days. Now he’s here ALL the time, can’t drive because of dementia, so my only alone time is in my car, with loud music that he doesn’t like.
We have a husband/wife in our BF circle. She lost her only sib 2 years ago and her parents are long gone, so it’s only her now and her husband as far as peer age grouping goes. At a recent dinner gathering she let-off how lucky the rest of us were to still have our sibs. I think she is really missing her sister.
You’d miss your husband if you didn’t have him, Aunty. I know I still miss mine even though I have learned to tolerate solitude – but then, I have cats.
You never know the value of someone until they’re gone. Mom and dad are gone, my only brother is in another state and in the present my wife who I met overseas is still an ocean away while her petition is being processed. Be thankful for how important they are in the present moment.
I am an only child and, as far as I know, I am the oldest surviving member of the family on both sides. I may still have an aunt, my uncle’s widow, living, but have had no contact with her in years.

Aunty, we love for you to sit in your house, and leave all of us alone.

Is that Aunty husband? I thought she was single. I didn’t know.
