The only difference is that thanksgiving he will absolutely be napping all day. Rest of the year it is only likely that he will be found napping at any time of the day. But point taken.

In decades past we would get up early on Thanksgiving and finish cooking the meal (cooked what could be done early the day before) for our two families (Jewish/Catholic couple – Thanksgiving the only “family” holiday both families wanted us for – so we had all come to us).

Would clean up all before going to bed that night (no dishwasher in apartment or, later, house). Day after Thanksgiving we would get up early (well, early for us) and go to Manhattan to walk around. There is a Christmas wholesaler who would open then their doors after Thanksgiving to sell at retail what they had not been to sell at wholesale, got a lot of REALLY nice items from them.

(Stopped going into Manhattan after we had bed bugs which I might have gotten while going to anyone of several clients located in same – or not, so have not gone to walk around since got same and get clients info by mail – which can be heated to kill any bedbugs.)
