I want to give special thanks today to Greg Grunberg.
For those who don’t know of him (shame on you) he’s best known for playing Matt Parkman on “Heroes.” He really has been in just about everything that J.J. Abrams does. He was the pilot who crashed the plane in “Lost.” He was Kirk’s stepfather in “Star Trek.” He survived “Felicity.” J.J. considers him his lucky charm of sorts, and gives him at least a cameo in everything.
When I came up with this storyline, my partner Bryan joked about dropping Grunny in the strip somewhere. I didn’t intend to use him, but for fun I did a mockup of Grunny!Liz and sent it off to his website’s “fan contributions” section as a joke.
Greg’s webmaster E-Mailed me back a couple days later saying that Grunny loved the idea, and to use it. So I pulled the moderately funny joke I had for today and put in this one instead.
pschearerGenius: Well, except for the days when Corey Pandolph, Brooke McEldowney, Theresa Dowlatshahi, or Justin Thompson would poke their head into this discussion, I was certainly the only person in the discussions of this strip who qualified as a “pro” under the old system. :)

So far Pab is the only person I’ve seen on the revamped GoComics who just might actually be a GENIUS.

3hourtour: No, but neither was J.J. Abrams involved with it, either.

Don’t forget Alias. Although he seems to play the same type in each series. The best friend/heart of gold type character.

Maybe Grunny can promote his iPhone app he’s so fond of telling everyone about…. but I forget the name of.

Pab, that was brilliant. Interesting to know Abrams has a lucky charm actor. Bruce Campbell is Sam Raimi’s.
