Spud, Let the Gruyere warm up to room temperature, put a slice of it on a slice of baguette, then layer on a slice of pair. Repeat, as needed. If you happen to have either a Gigondas or a Châteauneuf-du-Pape, it will be even better.
If you do this sitting outside in Provence, you’re living the good life.
