I watched an episode of Tasting History, and I was interested to learn that sugar plums aren’t typically plums. They can be any kind of fruit. Making them is very labor intensive.
Hair rollers. Must be a new fad. Hair rollers Went out with MS Pac Man. Doot Doot Doot. I could roll in the high 400,000 but never hit 500,000. Arrgggh. Them pesty Little Ghosties. I use to have a beer or 12 back then. Sober than a Priest since 1994. Give up Marlboro’s and Beer same day. Wife and Mother both very sick. Hospital day and night for almost a month with both. So I never started back. Woo hoo. Lord knows best. At 10 dollars a pack, 30 dollars a day. Good Lord. Am I glad. MERRY MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE all. Don’t ever do it or you might not live to enjoy CHRISTMAS DAY. That would make me sad.
Some where I have a picture of my son’s screaming around the corner from the bedrooms to the living room at 3a Christmas Day yelling “He was here! Santa was here!” That was 36 years ago.
Instead of having visions dancing in your head Brutis, you should have made some sugar plums. They are so simple even you couldn’t have screwed it up. We make them every year. The MIL especially loves them.
This is such a delight. Beautiful first panel. Brutus still a child at heart (or maybe just hungry?). Gladys’s whimsical smile. And the retro hair curlers! Totally wonderful. Thank you Chip
just as point of information: “It seems plausible that the Magi were “overjoyed” at again seeing before them, as they traveled southward, “his star,” Jupiter, which at its stationary point was standing still over Bethlehem. We do know for certain that Jupiter performed a retrograde loop in 2 B.C. and that it was stationary on December 25, interestingly enough, during Hanukkah, the season for giving presents.” from “The Star of Bethlehem” Imprimis by Hillsdale College, by Craig Chester Past President, Monterey Institute for Research in Astronomy…it’s available online, wouldn’t let me post the url in here…He most certainly was born on Dec. 25th!
