Wow, fan girl, breathe! I loved Cathy back in the 90’s especially when she was skewering fashion extremes.

Something like that happened to me once . . I know, Ms. El-Dweek, and I share your joy!

Love this. Reminds me of the letter I received from Stephen Hawking. He actually responded to a query I had about a particular quantum physics notion he’d amplified in one of his lectures. I was astounded, and still re-read that letter. Wonderful man.

So? I hope we get a followup tomorrow! What did she send you? Huh? Huh? Huh?

I thought that the erstwhile “Cathy” strip, which, sadly, is no longer being produced, was okay. My only issue with the strip was that no matter where she shopped or went to eat, she was always waited on by the same two ladies (usually a brunette, but occasionally a blonde would serve her). That seemed unrealistic to me.

It’s always great when your heroes respond like this.

A couple of years ago Maangchi contacted me and asked for my home address – to send me her new book. As a gift. From New York to Munich (Bavaria, Germany).

I asked her if that wasn’t too expensive to send – she insisted with the words “You’re my special!”. Love that woman! And her cooking…

This is awesome, Amanda!!! There is nothing better than meeting the artist of a fun comic strip and he or she turns out to be an absolutely lovely person! I have been very lucky to meet Dave Kellett (who isn’t here on GoComics but he does Sheldon and Drive) and Georgia Dunn of Breaking Cat News! They are both wonderful people! I wish I could tell Amanda to her face how wonderful she is!❤️

I didn’t get Cathy back in the day in my newspaper, so I follow her here. Today was a particularly good one… I did well in my work life by reading the manuals.
