Lucy walks off her doorstep. It is raining heavily.<BR><BR> She walks.<BR><BR> She approaches Linus, who is staring up at the sky.<BR><BR> Lucy looks up at the sky. She asks, "So how's the eclipse?"<BR><BR>
So been there, done that. But just as the moon was about to fully cover the sun, the clouds opened up for a few moments, so that I was able to see the so-called diamond ring and then the corona. A year or two ago there was supposed to be a partial eclypse of the sun (70%ish) and I was looking forward to seeing it, but the clouds were so thick that day that I couldn’t see it.
Ugh… something like this nearly happened out here in Atlanta during the solar eclipse of 2017. Right as it was starting, clouds started passing through.
In 2017 I came to the U.S. for the total eclipse which I saw in Douglas, Wyoming during a two week road-trip. Quite a happening with hundreds of people and luckily completely clear skies. And I too had to think about this strip which is one of my favourite.

There really was a solar eclipse on this date. Minneapolis, where the strip is set, saw about an 80% total eclipse. That is, unless it was raining.

Hope that doesn’t happen next Monday (August 21, 2017). I plan on going to the Griffith Observatory then to catch a partial here in Los Angeles.

This peanuts story was the first thing I though of when I learned of the eclipse in Oregon, 2017.

You can hardly deny that the sun is duly hidden.

Why isn’t Lucy’s hair affected by the rain like Linus’s?
