I agree with Simon, I just can’t see it, unless Mark is going to pull a Bill Watterson maneuver on us…..now there’s a guy who needs a serious slap upside the noggin for quitting on his fans right at the peak of his comics popularity……but I’m not bitter.
The reports of LIO’s demise are greatly exaggerated. LIO may appear to “die” from time to time within the context of his panels, but he always comes the next day to begin anew. Not to worry, LIO plans to stay around as long as newspapers do.
This reminds me of a story I once read about a kid who tried to sign his initials in wet cement and was sucked in, leaving only perfectly smooth footprints. As soon as I saw this… brrr…

Shouldn’t there be a hint of Lio’s quiff in the last panel just to identify him? Is Lio’s hairstyle a reference to Tintin?

And I was the only kid in the neighborhood with a quicksand pile!

Thanks Mark, I knew LIO would be okay. This is LIO’s world and this kind of stuff just happens. He won’t be stuck there forever.

Newspapers? What are newspapers? Sounds Neolithic.
jestrfyl over 15 years ago
It’s too warm for an overcoat and too dry to need boots - so maybe Lio is heading to the new construction of an alternative world.
