i only subscribe to Sunday paper, and there funnies aren’t. they put pictures of Garfield, Doonesbury, Elly (from For Better or Worse), and others but don’t show the actual strips inside. Talk about false advertising!

Get out the magnifying glass. Or maybe we’ll need the Hubble Telescope to read them.

The Phila. Inquirer has eliminated a separate Sunday comics section and has crammed them into the last several pages of the TV schedule section, even smaller than before.

The Inky also recently had a special section commemorating their 180th year. Will they reach 185? We’ll see. Years ago I mourned the loss of the Phila. Bulletin and survived; I can survive the loss of the Inquirer. But it will be a shame.

that was my point. i read comics online because this is where i find the ones i like, and the paper prints a very small selection, all of which were completely new to me, and none of which i found amusing. also, this was a sudden change made a few months back, with no prior warning to readers.

Try going to http://www.creators.com/comics.html and http://www.dailyink.com/en-us/my_dailyink/index.php (The latter has Pajama Diaries, Deflocked, and a charming strip called The Brilliand Mind of Edison Lee.

In sixth grade (1970), they gave us a 1” x 1” piece of microfilm with the entire King James bible printed on it as part of a science/social studies “unit study” (censorship in Russia). It was the coolest thing; I loved put it on the microscope platform and reading it.
