    He’s not a turtle, he’s a tortoise.

    Turtles usually live in salt water and have large blade shaped flippers for swimming. They find it very hard to walk on land.

    Joe Allen, you don’t need to keep reminding everybody that anachronisms are a feature of B.C.. That’s obvious to all. There’s nobody here who actually believes that cavemen had televisions (or that clams got legs).

    If people occasionally like to take the strip literally as a joke, TRUST ME, they’re aware of the disconnect. They are attempting (sometimes successfully, sometimes not) to ADD to the humorous content of the source material; they DO understand the strip. I like B.C., but it’s hard to believe that it’s “over the head” of the average reader.
