Besides a terrible twitch in his right eye, this computer salesman seems to have some problems with his personal morality when he sells his equipment knowing full well what it will be used for (and even lays out how to do it). How typical in today’s society.
I agree, Craigor, it is Jim Kramer. Where’s his bank of buttons, though?
Maybe this is where he got his start. Isn’t that bank of buttons a manual digitizer, of sorts?
Doesn’t matter when it was done. It was meaningless in 1982 as well.
Also, “…cross-channel it’s [sic] capacitor load” is not only meaningless, “its” is misspelled. I don’t want to be mean, just trying to show off how observant I am so everyone will admire me. How’s that working?

Fox Trot would never have used such meaningless technical gibberish. Bill Amend’s technical stuff is usually real, if exaggerated for humor.

Doesn’t the salesperson remind anyone of Jim Kramer (the stocks guy)?

So close!

Craigor - funny you should say that because as I was reading the strip I thought he was a dead ringer for Vladimir Lenin.

Apparently computer salespeople looked like losers even back in the ’80s.

If it’s a MANUAL digitizer, why would it need to be connected to a computer?

Perhaps the sales guy was winking in ASCII code to defeat any listening devices?
