A marvelous motley assemblage of Special Interest groups! I hope the v-p candidate has a suitable message for each, if he wants to gain their votes and win!
I read where Phyllis is going to finally be recognized as a historical figure in Texas Text books.
“Phyllis Schlafly (born 15 August 1924) is an American conservative political activist known for her best-selling 1964 book A Choice, Not An Echo and her opposition to feminism in general and the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) in particular.”
“ERA means abortion funding, means homosexual privileges, means whatever else.”
He can meet with PCA, Procrastinators Club of America, the only question is when they will get around to having a meeting. I’ve been meaning to join for about 30 years, but haven’t gotten around to it yet.
I’m starting PAPAE. People Against People Against Everything.
(This should in no way be taken as a slap at gillbill. There was just nobody to explain exactly what was meant by PAE or the comic to me, so I’m offended by them.)
I’m a life-long member of “The People.” We’ve been around a long time; in fact, we’re mentioned at the beginning of the Constitution, and Lincoln talked about us in his Gettysburg Address.
good lord– North Korea is a republic. Red China is a republic. The USSR was a republic. Do teabaggers know the difference between a “democratic” republic and some other sort of republic? And ya know, there’s nothing specific about rural electrification in the US Constitution either. Public libraries are socialist institutions. Methodist churches are socialist institutions, for that matter.
As nearly as I can tell, the Tea Party activists are neither independent nor educated thinking persons. a 35% or 39% top marginal tax bracket is nowhere close to the 91% or so that folks found back in the “good ol’ days” when Sexism, Racism and other forms of bigotry still were not only legalized, but also commonly embraced and defended by churches. It’s quite clear that these folks have no idea what they’re talking about.
Ladies - If you accidentally over-salt a dish while it’s still cooking, drop in a peeled potato and it will absorb the excess salt for an instant “fix-me-up.”
Real Women - If you over-salt a dish while you are cooking, that’s too bleeep bad. Please recite with me, The Real Women’s motto: “I made it and you will eat it and I don’t care how bad it tastes.”
Ladies - Cure for headaches: Take a lime, cut it in half and rub it on your forehead. The throbbing will go away.
Real Women - Take a lime, mix it with tequila, chill and drink. You might still have the headache, but who cares?
Ladies - Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of a sugar cone to prevent ice cream drips.
Real Women - Just suck the ice cream out of the bottom of the cone, for Pete’s sake. You are probably lying on the couch, with your feet up, eating it anyway.
Ladies - To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the potatoes.
Real Women - Buy boxed mashed potato mix and keep it in the pantry for up to a year.
Ladies - When a cake recipe calls for flouring the baking pan, use a bit of the dry cake mix instead and there won’t be any white mess on the inside of the cake.
Real Women - Go to the bakery – they’ll even decorate it for you.
Ladies - Brush some beaten egg white over pie crust before baking to yield a beautiful glossy finish.
Real Women - Sara Lee frozen pie directions do not include brushing egg whites over the crust, so I just don’t do it.
Ladies - If you have a problem opening jars, try using latex dishwashing gloves. They give a non slip grip that makes opening jars easy.
Real Women - Go ask the very cute neighbor guy to do it.
And finally the most important tip!…..
Ladies - Don’t throw out all that leftover wine. Freeze into ice cubes for future use in casseroles and sauces.
