I understand your emotion, Oliver, but don’t you think you’re being just a bit harsh with Opus? —At least the Russians still have a space program that is interested in Space, the Final Frontier….
I can’t help but think that we’re really shooting ourselves in the foot by not being the leader in space exploration and alternative energy. Ingenuity and being on the cutting edge of discoveries used to be things America prided itself on. Kinda hard to be exceptional and all when you’re not even willing to run the race, let alone win it. :/
I have said it many times, it is 1913, we are England, looking ominously at the growing power over the western ocean, but still believing in our own hubric superiority.
A very good friend of mine has been scanning the film that NASA shot of the polar regions a few decades ago.It was pre-digital.Truly a cheap project, chump change. The benefits are to measure the scientific facts behind polar climate change, I’m very sure that you’d be happy with that.
He cancelled the Manned space program and left NASA with the cheaper robotic version. I blame him for laying off 10000 workers at NASA which had a massive economic impact on America’s economic health. I would rather see people working jobs than collecting welfare. (same tax dollars)

Ironic this one comes up on the day NASA launches another Mars probe.
