These state lotteries are doG’s way of punishing people who are lousy at math.

People love to say it’s a fool’s game, or there is a zillion chances in one that you could ever win, and yet someone, some place always does. So why not you or me?

Lottery: the fool’s tax. Of course, in the case of Opus, falling wing bits from 747s tend to be more common than you’d expect….

A pleasant anticipatory daydream “what if” for a few days at a bunch less than the cost of a single cup of coffee that lasts what? Five minutes? Ten? (and slowly poisons you too in the nicest posible way, of course).

The real problems come when Mister Joseph Sixpack includes lotteries in long term financial planning!

At least it’s a voluntary tax.

rgwalther: So you always buy one lottery ticket. And still, you never win. Learn anything yet? And mugens: Why not you and me? Because the odds are so high against it. They say you can’t win if you don’t play. The truth is, you can’t lose if you don’t play.

I win the lottery all the time. Last night it was $5 in the Mega Millions. A long time ago I established a special fund just for my lottery habit. I have not added any cash to it since the inception , however I do take money out of it due to winnings. I win enough, consistently enough, that I have to claim it on my taxes.

I’m not “in the hole” from buying lottery tickets… of course, I’m not waited for that ‘pie-in-the-sky’ either.

What does it say on the side of the box: “A very good chance you’ll be a building?”

Subtle, maybe subliminal, “up-selling” by Milo.

Opus wanted just one ticket (three times), Milo stated the odds, the 747 wing piece falls on cue, and Opus wants 2 tickets.

    Quickly.

I’ll have 2 tickets myself, please? Quickly?
