The last time I saw a doctor in the U.S. (in 1999) I had to prove I had insurance or lay down a credit card before I got to warm a chair in the waiting room. No one kissed my umm… boo boo. From my father’s experience though, I’d say the last two panels are right on.
@AlexandertheGoodEnough It’s because when you are feeling ill you are sent to the hospital. If a patient in a hospice or Old People Storage Facility is deteriorating and is expected to not last much longer, they cart her out to the Hospitals Palliative care unit.

Most people die in the hospital, often in the ICU. Most doctors die at home. Kinda makes me wonder…
