The Boondocks by Aaron McGruder for July 03, 2009
Transcript:
President bans all psychic activities. At the request of Attorney General Ashcroft, president Bush declared a temporary ban on all non-military fortune-telling, palm reading, and any other kind of paranormal clairvoyant behavior, citing national security reasons. While such lawmaking by the executive branch is grossly unconstitutional, the House and the Senate seemed not to take notice. "Let's not start making a big deal... not to take notice. "Let's not start making a big deal out of the 'constitutionality' of the psychic ban," said Sen. Trent Lott. "What the Ms.Cleo incident has shown us is that non-governmental psychic activity is evil and must be stopped. I applaud the president for having the courage to do so." Also banned are any kind of television or print advertising for psychics... Experts believe BET will suffer a 70% decline in ad revenue.

If BET gets 70% of its revenue from psychics, then BET is evil and should be banned.

I don’t think ‘evil’ is the right word. I think ‘lame’ is probably better.

I think it’s mainly that Aaron McGruder has an extremely low opinion of BET.

Bush? He’s been out of office since first of the year. And Ashcroft… Ashcroft?! He’s been gone for ages.
I had to look to make sure I wasnt reading a years old comic.
Keeping the comic fresh, current and relevant will keep me reading it, this wont.

Look closely at panel three; these are recycled. IIRC, that’s 11/30/2001. Waste not, want not, and do try to keep up. If we’re really lucky, we’ll learn some of the lessons of history.
