A Boondocks black history moment: February 12, 1917: the first converse all-star basketball shoe is sold. February 13, 1917: the first "you scuffed my converse all-star!" homicide occurs.
GregW its not that Aaron does not like his fellow African Americans . Its just that he is one of the very few who is not afraid to give an ( Honest) opinion of the state of affair in our very diverse community. The old guard blacks were no doubt instrumental in getting this brilliant strip banned in Stockton, CA a few years ago! Its really nice to read his views.

February 14, 1917. The first valentine’s day without an unscufffed pair of converse all-star shoes in stock at the first converse shoe store.

I think it is more along the lines of the Hawkeye Pierce school of thought which says, “Sometimes you have to laugh, to keep from screaming.”
