Granddad: Hello? Is this a supervisor? I want to complain about your company's poor customer service. I plan to lay it all out in a long, irate letter to your human resources department. Voice: Oh no, sir. Please...we'll do better. Don't write...a letter! Anything but a letter! Granddad: Now calm down, son...you brought this on yourself.

Why do I imagine Dogbert on the other end of this call?

It always mystified me how people could go on using bad services. I stopped using cell phones quite a few years ago, because there were no good companies. They all had bad support, and they all treated you like poop. If, at that time, people had done the right thing and stopped giving them their money, we might actually have a company right now that has good customer service. But people really don’t care, do they? They just like complaining.

Wait a minute … I work in Customer Service … for a software co, not cell phones … we have the best service. Of course, I keep a poster in my office “Caution: you’re doing it wrong!” for incentive. And when all else fails, REBOOT!
