Regarding your query about the name of “those little flying fruit bugs”, since you used the word “little” I suspect you mean the Drosophila, a true party insect, very willing to “get down and be funky” at the drop of a banana to be sure! (as opposed -of course- to the larger less handsome Euaresta.)

The Drosophila is a lovely little insect that knows its work, and does it well. The Male is sturdy and well built. (A randy little fellow he!) The Female is a dedicated and loving mother to several million offspring yearly.
