Good morning everyone. After some rain here in North Georgia, temps here are going to drop for just a few days. In the mid 40’s here to the upper 30’s in the mountains. And we’re just one week from the so-called “unofficial start of spring” (Memorial Day). On the upside, it’s going to be beautiful day! How are the rest of you? Guess what my favorite drink is? It’s Pepsi Cola. Despite the fact I’m living near the city that is headquarters of the #1 drink the world loves, Coke-A-Cola. More forth coming.

Dry - I use Norton also, and there is a way to schedule your scans, so I try to have my scans done when I’m less likely to be on the computer. If you minimize it while it is running the scan, it helps some. johnny & cleo - If you ever figure out how to get paid for being a klutz, let me know. Hey Tribe, I’m BAAACK! Sorry, did I scare you? DCguys- we call it the May long weekend now. Too many people said “Victoria who? What’s the secret?” Queen Victoria likely would know though. ;) We walked about 5 hours, and saw lots of great birds (talk about Twitter!) I loved the Barn Swallows that for some reason were nesting under the deck on a pond. They sat on the bulrushes just inches from us. There were flocks of Cormorants- must be migrating- Trumpeter Swans, mute Swans, yellow warblers and yellow finches and gorgeous Tree sparrows (blue) that for some reason live in houses (tree houses?) I won’t tell you what a female Mallard duck did- too funny. You’ll have to wait. I’m a mite (not “bug”) hungry. Any food left? sugie63, serenaskitty, and tabbylynn, any desserts left? After I finish up the last of the burritos, I’ll want to try some yummies. DoctorToon- I thought you had today off, or is that over all ready? I’ll never get the time frame right with this party! Gee carmy, I hope all goes well with you. Glad you’ve got the Tribe. Welcome back JFri. Happy Mt. St. Helen’s Day to you and cleokaya and whoever saw/heard it. Dryshta- I noticed your avatar. I was about to mention it when I got distracted by my cat reupholstering my couch for me. He likes the shaggy look- I don’t

DigitalFrog And I got distracted by your four letter word! I sure had a different image in mind about you waking up to “S— all over the place.” Glad someone set me straight. LOL! The S— was on the OUTSIDE bed. I guess I’ll move on to see what else is out there. Bye for now.

Jfri–Glad your son is safe. The only earthquake we experienced here felt like the subway rumbling under the house, which incidently was on the subway line, so it didn’t alarm us until we read in the paper what had happened. Although, now that I think of it, my clock falling out of the nightstand should have alarmed me.

JFri, I think most of the rain we are getting came off the Atlantic, so you’re in the clear. I’m glad your son is okay. We were in San Diego when they had a big one in L.A. (Simi Valley ?) and we felt like it was right there in San Diego. You don’t get earthquakes where you are? We had some minor ones in WA state when we lived there. Alas, I have to return to the evil place on Tues, Weds and Thurs. Those days will be short visits compared to today though.

They are waiting for the big earthquake up here in WA. I’ve experienced some minor ones, but we have the potential faults to cause some major damage.

Drystyha–I just caught up on yesterdays posts and i’m glad you enjoyed our fair province Ontario. One of the best summer jobs I had was in a travel kiosk for “Ontario-Yours to Discover”. we travel around so we could tell people about the various places. I learned how to wind-sail. Never did it again though.

    Where abouts are you from?

It’s my bedtime now, so I’ll just read it in the morning when I’m too tired to care :-)

    Good night, all!!

Shikamoo have you ever taken the train from Cochrane up to Moosonee? I really enjoyed that trip. If you haven’t done it, the trip really gives one a chance to experience the wilds of northern Ontario.

Good choice! Shika I’m glad you weren’t clocked! I’ve heard interesting stories about creative accounting Dry - glad you don’t have any to share 1st hand! Hello jestrfyl. I agree, it is a bit tough following the conversation tonight. A lot of diverse topics.

I am watching an old movie produced by Howard Hughes in which he introduces Jane Russell to the world. It’s a movie I have seen many times, but my sweetie hasn’t. It’s one of those movies that make you feel like you’re visiting an old friend. It’s not Jane’s first movie, but she fits in well with Robert Mitchum and the rest of the cast.

Since, as is becoming all to well know, I like to wear as few clothes as I can get away with, my legs are always covered in bruises and scrapes from walking into things. I seem particularly drawn to sharp corners on tables, or just anything tending to create as much pain as possible.

so i am reading some crazy funny little things on one of my other fav sights. this is not me, but it is funny.

“I’m the girl who can watch tons of horror movies and not get scared, but scream at the top of my lungs when toast pops out of the toster.”

    thought it was funny.

At least twice a week I give my wife a good scare that gets her off the floor a few inches. I don’t do it intentionally, but I naturally walk lightly. She’ll sneak up on me and try to get me, but usually with no effect.

Gee tabby, I promised I wouldn’t talk about the duck, but since you insist- ta-dah! I just happened to learn how to cut and paste recently, and I had to tell someone about this duck, so this is from my email:

How is you weekend so far? Enjoy your three days off? I went for a nature walk with Wendy, my ornithologist friend from church. I just had to tell you about what happened with a pair of ducks. I wish you could have been there to see it. There was an octagonal-shaped wooden deck over a pond. In the morning, we watched bank Swallows nesting under underneath, and just sitting on the reeds looking at us looking at them. We were so enchanted, we went back before leaving the area. There were two people, and man and woman sitting eating lunch on the bench around the deck, and two ring-billed gulls on the railing. Just as we got on the deck, a female Mallard flew in and landed on the deck, with the drake following close behind. She started quaking and strutting around all hunched up with her tail in the air, and we felt sure that we were watching a weird and little known mating ritual. (Stay with me here.) She kept circling and squawking, er quacking, and then turned her back to us and let fly with the worst case of the runs! I mean a golden stream of bird poop (yeah, I know, poop-deck…gross). Then she quacked some more and waddled over the the other side, with the drake right beside, and did it again. Then they both flew away, quacking all the way. Lord, we laughed, although Wendy said, “I know how she feels some times.” The couple having the picnic weren’t exactly having a picnic at that point. they looked rather green, in fact. But it was hilarious. So, how was your long weekend? Any news on………
