Good Morning all. Well, it is official. I have been spending so much time here that you all are in my dreams and my dreams are very vivid. It all took on the form of a comic strip that was morphing into a soap opera like drama. I gradually started meeting you and and in true soap opera fashion, you were all good looking and there was much drama. And, like some of other epic dreams it went on all night. Oh by the way, doctortoon, you were living in a house that was an adobe structure with round earthtone walls. Must be the shaman influence.

I haven’t counted how many comic strips I read on a daily basis, either. I have my routine list that I try to get read everyday, and then if I have some extra time, check out others. I read most of mine here, but I there are four other sites where I read some strips that aren’t carried here.

Doctortoon, you said it was supposed to be warm where you are today. Please share some of that with me. It is nearing the end of May and it is chilly here [temp not too bad but with a strong cold wind]. It is snowing not too far from where I am, but fortunately not here. One day it is warm and the next day I have to turn up the heat.

dcguys the apology really needs to go to Dry because most people don’t like being mistaken for a “bean counter”. My husband & FIL complain about “bean counters” even though I’ve done accounting. But they’re engineers (and I know several other engineers) so I like this joke: What is the difference between engineers & accountants? Accountants realize they’re boring.

There is one poster is doesn’t come to BT that I’d like to ask a few questions of, but he usually posts in the wee hours of the morning, and very rarely later. Just wondered how late I’d have to stay up to leave a message for him that he’d see.

Our family traveled as far west as Vegas in May 2007 sugie63. The water level at Hoover Dam was way below the normal. Is west of the Continental Divide still in a drought? We’re actually getting a lot more rain than normal the last couple of years or so, in fact so much they are pumping water back into the aquafiers to save it for future years.

Morning JFri–You’re right. Those were the days! I learned to love classical music Saturday mornings:

The Barber of Seville Wm Tell’s overture Beethoven’s fifth and opera on “Might Mouse”!(Although that was a little too much for me. Bugs is way more fun! The last time I tried to tune into Bugs Bunny, it was on a Buffallo station, and it was censored to take out the violence. Lasted about 2 seconds-LOL. What’s to watch when Elmer Fudd can’t use his gun? But today’s cartoons are full of violend, and much more realistic. what’s uup with that?, Or as Bugs would say, “Eh, What’s up Doc?”

johnnydoc since I didn’t know what part of MI you are in, I wasn’t sure which time zone. I know part of IN doesn’t do DST and all of AZ doesn’t. I’m pretty good with converting time zones (I’ve had to teach it in my math lessons) but I know that many states aren’t all in the same time zone. KS is mostly Central time, but a small section is in Mountain.

Then they both come to help, and instead of reading the ILLISTRATED diagram, they are both trying to figure it out. no I say, “that’s not right, see here on the diagram”! It was hilarious! I just stepped back and chuckled to myself. FINALLY they looked at the diagram, had it done in 5 mniutes. Men!!!!!!

Shika the part of Ontario I’m talking about isn’t a valley. It’s flat with lots of small evergreens and wetland once you get north of Cochrane. Moosonee is right on James Bay south of Hudson’s Bay. On the train ride you seen moose, bear, lots of wetlands and creeks. Moosonee can only be reached by train or Plane. Most of the inhabitants are Cree. Beautiful, but cold.

JFri Fess Parker was Daniel Boone, Ed Ames (one of the Ames Broters) played the Indain Mingo, Albert Salmi played Yadkin, and there was an old guy named Cincinnati, I can see the actors face but forget his name, Patricia Blair was his wife, Veronica Cartwright was the daughter, and the boy was a blond haired kid whose name escapes me! And again, I can see his face as plain as day, also!

We have your room ready, etc.” The naMe didn’t mean anything at first, but I looked at him, cowboy hat, suit, sunglasses, mustache, then I relaized I was standing right beside Richard Petty the race car driver! No, didn’t get an autograph, didn’t speak to him, not a racing fan, but still it was pretty cool!

carmy yea, there was like 5 foot of space between us! Apparently he was a regular there becasue they gushed all over him! It was a nice hotel right across the street from Inner Harbor, but not a fancy smancy place. I think it was called the Harbour Court. I won’t stay in dumps when we go on vacation and I’m the one who has to make all the plans! I’ve discovered though, that Hampton Inns, Courtyard by Marriot and the Hilton Garden Inns are clean, really really nice and not htat expensive. Haven’t been on a vacation as such since my mom got sick, and since I’m an only, I can’t leave my dad, for any length of time, so all trips now are related to college things where we have to stay overnight. I msut tell you sometime about our whirlwind trip to New Hampshire 2 years ago! And I do mean WHIRLWIND to take our oldest up for his summer intern job!

Dry, I was hoping to get over to Texas next month to visit my family. I know my doctor will let me take a chemo break. I’m still not sure if we will do that though. I did it before, just me and the girls. It took me 2 days to get there because I don’t drive at night, plus we ran into some really nasty weather. Once we get to Texas, it’s smooth sailing for me. I just take I-10 from FL to Miss and then shoot over to I-12 to bypass New Orleans. Then I get back on I-10 all the way to Houston. Just a couple of more changes and I’m home.

hi sugie I don’t know why but I thought you lived in the midwest like Illinois or somewhere. I suppose when you live in Vegas, it’s just an ordinary everyday thing. Funny, I was in Arizona and loved the desert, but going to vegas just never appealed to me. Is there a more normal everyday aspect of the area other than the glitz and night life? I know there is Niagara Falls, Canada. I don’t mean to offend, I’m just curious!

Drystyha it’s funny you should mention Niagara Falls. I was born and lived most of my life in Buffalo. We came to Vegas to retire and the cost of living at the time was much etter the NY state. Vegas is just a regular city with everything you find in other places. You should come and visit the real Vegas. We have parks, museums,a zoo etc. Everyone thinks it’s just the “strip”. Haven’t been there for years:)

sugie what made you decide to retire there other than the cost of living? I know that’s a BIGGIE but what else made you choose there, what about other places? Do you like the desert? It seems like you moved a long way away from your roots! I’m merely curious because I will have to make decisions in the next so many years, and wonder what to look at, what to research etc., assuming of course, that my life stays status quo!

Drystyha, besides the cost of living wich is a biggie the weather helped. Living in the Buffalo area for over 50 years one tends to not like the cold, snow and rain. Now I can swim for at least 6 months of the year. No humidity and bugs. Can sit outside at night and not get bit up. It gets hot in the summer but as I say at least you can go swimming Can’t do that in the winter back east:(

I know what you mean, cleo, I have not been following TV, at all it seems, in the recent years. I think that is a good thing actually. About ten or twelve years ago when I was still living with my parents, they got digital cable for three months, then got rid of cable all together. Network television is not very good, so I stopped watching TV as much. I kinda faded out on the westerns trivia today until just about two hours ago, so I missed most of it. Never really watched them, Bonanza was the only one I saw, and that was briefly.

johnnyd, I watched all the westerns. I really liked Laramie, High Chaparral, The Virginian and Wanted: Dead or Alive. It was the time then. Things change. You’re right about the commercials. The last few years that I had TV I had all the channels because that was the only way you could get the movie channels. Network TV and commercials loses it’s appeal when you have the cable options that don’t have any. The only thing that I watched on the big 3, were sporting events.

johnnyd what do you like to do outside, athletic pursuits or mechanics or beach activities. I live in a great spot for outdoor sports. I like to bicycle, kayak and hike. We have a huge race coming up here on Memorial Day weekend. Teams from all over North America show up for it. It is called “Ski to Sea”. You have a team that consists of a downhill skier who hands off a baton to a cross country skier, who hands off to a runner, than a road bicylcist, than a canoe leg, handing off to mountain bicylces, then ocean kayaks. Great event.

Wow, that sounds really cool. No, we never lived really close to any bodies of water, being in Michigan oddly enough. So we did whatever we could, sports. Football, kickball, and soccer a lot. We did a little basketball. We did a ton of tag, and variations of the sort. Sometimes we’d just take our legos and cars outside and play with them outside. There was also the running around in the country where my mom grew up. Exploring the woods, playing in the hay fields, thing like that. Man, those were the good ol’ days.

The main characters: Spock, Kirk, Uhura, Scotty, Bones are practically identical to the originals. And there are some really hilarious scenes.
