Doc - I’m having fun, too, or I wouldn’t be here. No one is forcing us. I admit I’m a little nutty, but that’s almost a requirement to homeschool - gotta be willing to march to a different beat than most.

dcguys - Thanks for the trip down memory lane! I could remember all but two of them, and considering there weren’t lyrics or music, just the titles, that’s pretty good for my memory. I also had several of Jim Croce’s albums. Other than “Time in a Bottle” and “Bad, Bad, Leroy Brown” I can’t think of them off the top of my head, but I’m sure if someone mentions others, I’ll remember.

Gooooood Morning Tribe! . RMom - I used to be able to play “Time in a Bottle” on the piano, still have the sheet music somewhere. Would one of the others you were thinking of be “Don’t Mess Around With Jim”?

Digital - Yes, I do remember that song. I guess since I haven’t thought about these songs since the 80’s, my memory cells for them are covered in dust.

Doc - My sons would think “Yappy Nuts” would fit me perfectly. But “tribe” is fine with me, because some aren’t as “yappy” as others. I won’t try to figure out if they’re as nutty or not.

Tabby, only 2 of my girls know about it. Daughter #2 was kind enough to help get it out by the pond. I tried to call the “city” to pick it up, but they won’t unless it is in the street. It’s gone now, a gator may have snacked it up. The suspected killer is/was in the backyard earlier, I took a photo of it. Also, I do believe they are geese and not ducks.

Shikamoo & Digital - I only dreamed of being able to play the piano. No - that’s not right. I took lessons for 8 years, and flunked out. My teacher told my mom she was wasting her money, because I couldn’t keep time with a metronome. I was thankful she was honest, because it was frustrating for me. I enjoy listening to others who have talent, so all I play now are CD’s.

Tribe Toon Daily Post Update: The pirate known as commicaddict has spotted the offending duck and fired cannon shots at it. The suspect duck was left unconscious, making it easy for the BTville police to apprehend him. A finger belonging to Shikamoo MB was found in the duck’s mouth. Upon reviving the suspect duck he said “Ya ain’t got nothing on me! I thought it was a finger sandwich!” It is now safe to go outdoors. In a seemingly unrelated matter, Sargent Wednesday said the the BTville police will announce on Thursday, plans for the annual Police Banquet on Friday. It is rumored the main course will be roasted duck! Be sure to catch tomorrow’s paper when we will do an in depth story on a midget fortuneteller who was arrested for fraud but escaped police custody. Headline? Small Medium At Large!

Late-Breaking Tribe News, Live from Shikamoo’s BackYard We’re here at the scene of a retaliatory cannon strike by one Commicaddict against a lady finger eating duck of unknown nationality. Authorities have now informed us that the duck, was in fact, an endangered species known as the Chappaquid Duck, normally found only on a small island in Massachusetts. How the duck came to this region of Canada, no one seems to know, but fowl play is suspected. Local RCMP officers have fined Commicaddict under the Fish & Game act for hunting without a valid license in the amount of $125 Canadian ($19.95 US). Sympathetic tribe members have already begun passing the hat to pay off the fine as they considered the shooting justifiable and that Commicaddict canardly be held accountable. DigitalFrog, reporting for Tribe News Network. Back to you JFri.

    TABBY - Here’s some possibilities:

You Know You’re Getting Old When …Everybody has already heard all your jokes. …Everything hurts, and what doesn’t hurt doesn’t work. …Sometimes you stop to think and forget to start again. …The products you bought with a lifetime guarantee begin to wear out. …Weight lifting consists of just standing up. …What used to give you heartthrob now gives you heartburn. …Work begins to be a lot less fun and fun begins to be a lot more work. …You add “God Willing” to the end of most of your statements. …You feel most comfortable straddling two lanes. …You get out of the shower and you’re glad the mirror is fogged up. …You have trouble finding your kind of music on the radio. …You look into the mirror and wish you hadn’t. …You meet old friends and you tell each other “You haven’t changed a bit.” …You start dressing for comfort. Your color coordination takes a back seat to expediency. …You start looking forward to dull evenings at home. …You stop looking forward to birthdays. …Your arms are barely long enough to hold your reading material. …Your back goes out more often than you do. …Your name appears on every mail order list in the country. …You’re not inclined to exercise anything but caution. …You’ve reached middle age when a lot of living under your belt begins to show there.

Shikamoo - It didn’t matter how many times I practiced, because I couldn’t ever do it correctly, so I just kept repeating my mistakes. When my boys were little, I thought we’d have them take piano lessons from a friend of mine - he’s got a PhD in piano now. But when they were in the children’s choir at church, we noticed that their clapping wasn’t even close to being on beat. No point wasting money. When I was younger it bothered me that I had no athletic or musical ability. Since that time I’ve discovered I have a bunch of other talents - usually ones that are much more practical in nature. My oldest son loves to “whistle” - unfortunately, it is torture to listen to him. But he’s very talented with computers and engineering concepts. The youngest has a mind like a steel trap, not sure what field he’ll go into yet. He loves listening to classical music, but has no delusions that he’s a musician. I figure the musicians need people to sit in the audience and enjoy, so that’s our place.

Marg - the trick is to lay it on your finger just a bit to left of center to account for the weight of the staples and thelittle stubs left by torn out checks, once you find the right spot, it’s not too hard to keep it balanced.

Tribe Toon Daily Post Final Edition: An international incident was avoided when BTville sent Ambassador to Canada Shikamoo MB to negotiate the release of the notorious pirate, commicaddict. When talks started to break down Shikamoo MB tried to give the Canadian negotiators the finger. The stub where her finger used to be was mute testimony to the fact that the suspect duck was billed and dangerous! Also in contention was the fact that the RCMP had no idea where the border was as this all occurred in Florida. Coming to commicaddict’s defense was Joy618 who assured the Canadian authorities she was a dead shot with a cannon. The entire incident between BTville and Canada has been put to rest despite questionable negotiating tactics.

Dinnertime. CLEO isn’t back with our Tribey bag, so I guess I’ll raid his refridge before heading home. Zipping all over the continent has given me an appetite. and that duck’s foot didn’t taste great either. How much did you say it would cost if it was endangered? Trust a duck to use a disguise to look like an endangerd species. “Ugly duckling”, indeed!

In one office I could be on several PC’s depending on who’s in the office. Also, these people are very particular WHAT’s on their machines so I have to be able to clear off practically instantly.

    Late-Breaking news on WWW. whatsupduck?.commic

The mystery of the identity of the killer duck has been un-covered, and it turns out that Muscovy was one DIGIT AL the FROG, who collects digits! He goes by the alias Jeremiah Bullfrog. He was last spotted DUCKING into someone’s back yard. LOCK YOUR DOORS! Do not approach this very dangerous ARMED frog. That’s right, he collects ARMS too. we understand that he plays leap-frog, so do not climb a tree to escape either.

Over to you JFri. I should point out that we were tipped when Mr. D. A. Frog disguised himself as our intrepid reporter Digitalfrog (no relation).

I rode it down the street and back. GREAT handling. I had a Voyager XIV about 12 years ago. 6 cylinder, fully digital instrument panel, computerized and with air assisted shocks. AM/FM stereo cassette deck with intercom and CB Radio. Quietest bike I ever owned. It was a Lincoln Continental on two wheels.

We usually get geese in my neighborhood. Every spring we have baby geese walking around. I’m sure there are ducks too, somewhere. (and also turkey vultures, hawks, doves, and I saw a peacock as I was driving to a friends house).

Glad you’re up DOCTORTOON.: Weird dreams you have. You should see a doctor about it. Did ya notice I short-sheeted your bed? I got mixed up and took a left turn at Albukerque on the way to cleos, so I short sheeted you instead!

We have Canada Geese everywhere. In our parking lots, our malls and even have goose crossing signs- no kidding!

I once got off a bus near my mall (where I worked then), and there was a little yellow goosling waiting at the bus stop- no mother in sight. I wonder where it was going?

Just what are you passing around, and am I in line, or should I bow out gracefully?

Goodnight Akenta! Shika, we have several duck crossings. I’ve seen people jump out of their cars to stop traffic for the little ducks where there wasn’t crossing sign. Rad, thank you very much. Here is a link so you can see the duck up close. www.avianweb.com/muscovyduck.html

Carmy: I’d never seen a goose crossing sign before last Monday. Cute, with the goosling. I wonder if that is how the little fluff-ball I saw crossed the road?

Jfri - I think that duck is going to have a hard time getting me. He’d have to climb up to the 3rd floor where my room is, I’ve got some shotguns & rifles in my bedroom, and I know how to use them. I may not bother cleaning the fowl thing, but we know how to dispose of corpses around here.
