margueritem: i, too like spinach quiche. (as well as broccoli quiche and mushroom quiche. and i love a good mushroom and cheese omelette with home fries - which i had for breakfast yesterday.) whoever says real men don’t eat quiche is flat out WRONG.
Hi tribe. Bed time for me, but i figured i’d take a peek first. I’ll be back in about 6 hours or so, unless i decide to go golfing again.
It’s late I know, Just got home a short while ago, and now like the rest of you I to am going to bed.
By the way does anyone of you have any aspirin, I have one slam bang of a headache, going on right now. Hope it doesn’t end up turning into a migraine.
I’ll have a 5 cheese omelelte with diced ham & onions, sauages patties with fresh buttermilk biscuits, orange juice and Doc’s Nuked coffee from my pipeline.
I’m glad you like teaching. I too really enjoy my profession as a mechanic. It has never been like a job to me more like a hobby. I find that not many people can say they trully like their job.
I seem to have stumbled upon an interesting group of tribesmen (you do call yourselves the Tribe right) in my random wanderings of gocomics, which has made me rather hungry, and brought me to the realization that I forgot my lunch.
In relation to the comic(which I realize is a re-run but it new to me)
oh the fun that ensues when pixie stix are present.
im almost done printing then ill have to cut out things. and gule them…. dont trust the kid with that yet. he’s only 4 im scared to give him the cutting device. on X right now. but they print so slow. gosh
tabby they make safety scissors for kids, didn’t know if you knew that or not. If you’re not already a parent, some things people wouldn’t know about.t
Dry i know, but i don’t have any. :( it sucks. i may not be a parent but i have kids so often that i know alot and when im a mom i will be ready for anything. lol
well they are finished and so is the movie so its time to get off now. bbl peace and love all.
Beginning to think??? Where have you been girl? I have been trying to eliminate the competition so I can have all these lovely ladies. Steroids and Nuclear Coffee. Look out and lock your doors, lonewolf is on the prowl!
Lonewolf - I am glad that you are feeling well. I am great too, although I miss the sunshine.
I don’t have to work today either, which in fact means that I do not have to water and I did my mowing yesterday. So, I will be scarce today as we are going to a street fair today. This is a good one, with plenty of great artists. My wife and I collect art, both indoor and outdoor whimsical themes.
No, I meant a personal, accurate owner’s manual. Well, maybe they do have one–written in Urdu, and translated into English by Somalis via Japanese and Dravidian. Like my latest computer “helpful manual”
Yeah, I think I will bring it with me.
Kids… yeah, not really my specialty. All I can say, is that I am glad that I don’t mind watching some of the older cartoons, and that kids seem to love them.
Good Morning Tribe!
Thank you for the Birthday Greetings!
I’m going to pick up my cake at the bakery in a few.
I hope I can check in with you all later.
Peace and Love!
I’d still be saying happy birthday to you carmy, but right now I’m so partied out ( I’ve gone to three parties already ) and apparently will be going to yet another party sometime this afternoon. ( Somebody please save me ) !
Oh, and Dry: safety scissors don’t mean the kid won’t cut his hair. One of my Sunday School kids did that (at home) and she ended up with a buzz cut to even it out.
I’m back - tv is hooked up and working (even all the remote controls can see it). Tomorrow I’ll start catching up on everything I tapes because I was afraid to use my old tv. MoPar, I’m checking with my neighbor to see if he’s interested in getting it fixed, if not I’ll see if you want it (you still have the directions to my place?)
Boy, I tell ya, it doesn’t take much to p!ss people off on these toon sites. I have to laugh at some of the reactions to certain posts. Some are offensive, but some most people wouldn’t woory about. A few do though, I guess. Funny!!!
Lonewolf how is you BB team doing? I’m inching back towards first place - probably to fall harder into last. Still have no idea what I’m doing. Need to create that football league for us soon.
ok, i’m looking at creating a football league for us. Got a name and password - now I’m stuck. I’ll take suggestions;
live draft or autopick (or offline)
Head to head or Points Only
I think the rest I’m comfortable with. I worry about a live draft since we’re all over the country. And I have no idea which scoring type will be more fun.
I play head to head in my baseball leagues. That’s why I have a 13-4 record. I’m not sure how yours is calculated. My total points at the moment is over 3800, but that is only used for tie breakers.
It’s easy to find where I live. Just get off the Interstate, head left (well, right if you are coming from the other direction), take the second right, then the fourth left, and go to where the big tree used to be before that storm last year. Left there, then right, and you’re there!
Hey all.
My plans got changed, my friends decided to come home, so I think I won’t go out there this weekend. Man, they changed their plans on me quick. I guess I am going next weekend, but now it will be mostly business.
Just catching up to you yappy nuts. We just got back from touring the Peterson AFB Museum. The hanger part is very interesting if you’re interested in the NORAD sort of stuff.
tabby - All this talk about kids with scissors reminded me of something my son did with a pair. My Mom gave him a dollar bill for his birthday. He made confetti out of it. Yes, I taped it together, and turned it into the bank. Looking back, I should have kept it, just for the memories. After that experience, I had to keep scissors under lock & key, because I was afraid he’d start cutting up MY money.
I have the biggest house on the street, well my parents do. My place in AA is hard to find, because I don’t always remember where it is…. I’d better look into that.
i remember my kindergarten teacher trying to get a pupil to explain where his “new house” was (because he rode the bus and the parents didn’t come to the school. aah the good old days). all he could remember was that it was “on top of the hill” - not even the town, let alone the street. try mapquesting something like that, these days.
Hi, Lonewolf!
bmonk - I wish we had brick or stone exterior! My husband insisted on vinyl siding, but now we don’t believe those commercials that claim “vinyl is final”. The wind has blown off more pieces than I remember, and after the siding has aged a little, it gets brittle. Then a hail storm came, and left big holes in it. My husband decided to use a flame thrower to get rid of a snake up by the (attached) garage, and melted the siding. I wanted stone veneer, but I didn’t win that battle. I figured stone was better than brick, because if a hail storm or something broke a little off, no one would notice.
i live near a pond (but in an apartment building - condo). lots of green to be seen, mostly tree tops. i’ve lived my whole life in this town, and haven’t found another place i’d rather be, though i’ve looked around a fair bit.
tomorrow, i have to help empty out my parents’ house. Dad’s in a senior’s apartment now, since it got to be too much for him to care for, and the closing date for the new owners is monday. Mom & Dad bought the place when i was 6, and never lived anywhere else. only 1 of my 3 siblings moved away, and even that was only about 3 or 4 years ago.
& hi Terry & anyone else still here.
Even though we’ve lived at the same address for about 14 years, my sons didn’t get their address memorized until they were in high school. With homeschooling, they didn’t need to know it often enough to get it memorized. Whenever they’d take a standardized test, I’d have to make sure they had it in writing with them. I still have to quiz them when I know I won’t be with them to fill out a form that needs it, but at least now I tell them they can look at their DL (or learner’s permit) if they don’t remember.
see you folks later on, i have to get dinner before the football game starts
AAAAAARRRRGOOOOOOOS!
(Toronto Argonauts of the CFL for the uninitiated. i hope they play well this week, a win might be too much to hope for, since they’re playing against the Alouettes.)
i live off the high way. there a left and a right and a left and a nother left there i am in the tralier on the left. spend more time at the house on the right tho.
I have always been a Packer fan since I was 5 years old, back in the day of the great Bart Starr and Vince Lombardi. Become a Dallas Cowboy fan after discovering the class act of Tom Landry and Roger Staubach. Playoffs between those two were tough for me. Dropped the Cowboys like a hot potato when that S O B Jerry Jones fired Landry, esp. the way he did it. Then Brett Favre came on the scene! Hate the Packer mgmt. to be sure, but … . I’ll stick it out and see what happens. Part of me was hoping Brett would come back as a Viking and part of me is glad he’s staying retired. Wouldn’t want my man getting hurt!!
But baseball has always been my favorite sport, and the Tigers are still in contention, though I doubt they’ll win it this year, so as long as the baseball season continues, I will be content.
I second the Favre sentiment Dry. On the other hand, I liked Landry and Staubach back in the day. But as Staubach has gotten older, he has gotten a big head and doesn’t act as classy as he did as a player.
I love football too, and I only don’t like the Steelers, because their fans were jerks during football and hockey season, not all, but some. I respect Polamalu, because I think he and Ed Reed are the best safeties ever.
I never really liked Favre, but definitely acknowledge the fact that he was one of the best.
I think I will stop with the sports talk though, it “angries up the blood,” as Grampa Simpson put it.
True rric, but I didn’t like them back then.
bleeep the Tigers are already losing, I am going to go watch. bbl.
p.s. I don’t hate any fans of any sports team, after all, it is just a game.
I cried my eyes out at the last game. I wish he would have stayed that year coming up and not gone to the Jets. I think that would have been his GREATEST EXIT, WINNING THE SUPER BOWL! I know they would have!!
Of course we can blame A@@ ho@@@ TT, MM, and MM for that fiasco!!!
johnny HOW COULD YOU NOT LIKE FAVRE??? He was the best! Always enthusiastic, always GREAT to watch on the field! There won’t be another like him for years to come!!
Terry I was just thinking about Troy. I was going to mention Terry but thought that would be too long and then I go and type a whole paragraph a couple of posts later!!! LOL!!!
Ladywolf shouldn’t brag about the number of posts at Pibgorn. We aren’t in a competition And I don’t think Pibgorn is either. We are all here to have fun!
doc - Is that what I’m smelling? LOL!
Actually, I did think of you today when the old geezers at the museum were telling us about their NORAD (and related areas) days. This one guy said that if you could pour their coffee, it wasn’t strong enough.
johnny - My hubby grew up in PA, and doesn’t like the Steelers because of the fans. He said they were the only team’s fans that he knew would tear up things when they WON!
The same type of comment was made from here and directed at PB earlier today or yesterday. That’s just not right. I was feeling more comfortable with the situation concerning that here at BT. Back to square one.
I knew where it was directed. I had just watched it all unfold at PB and came back here when they left over there. I respect the members at this site and just didn’t appreciate “we” here and then “we” there. What can I say, I give two hoots!
It wasn’t really much of a brag, she just wasn’t expecting to see that Pibgorn got up to seven pages so soon, since it usually takes them all week to even get there.
Cut her some slack, she’s just a kid after all, and bragging is what kids like to do. Pibgorn doesn’t want to compete with the Tribe anyways.
Dry, I live in Michigan, Favre always played on the wrong side of the lake. And I know an Eagles fan, he isn’t too bad, but I suppose one out of many can’t be a good sample size.
johnny You’re right about one out of many. Had a chance to see Dallas play the Eagles one year, and I REALLY wanted to, but thought better of it, for my own safety! A Cowboy fan in the middle of Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia with my BIG mouth at football games, well, I probably wouldn’t have gotten out of there with the very least, bruises or maybe worse!!
I caught that post of yours………I know how trying I can be……..I’ve lived with myself for a few years………..tried to move out on myself a few times………always came back……………..I don’t need you to remind me…………dang neighbors………….LOL
@Terry, I know the feeling. And I hear it only gets worse as you grow older:
STRANGE OLD LADY
A very weird thing has happened.
A strange old lady has moved into my house.
I have no idea who she is, where she came from, or how she got in.
I certainly didn’t invite her.
All I know is that one day she wasn’t there, and the next day she was.
She’s very clever.
She manages to keep out of sight for the most part,
but whenever I pass a mirror,
I catch a glimpse of her there,
and when I look into a mirror directly to check my appearance,
suddenly she’s hogging the whole thing,
completely obliterating my gorgeous face and body.
It’s very disconcerting.
I’ve tried screaming at her to leave
but she just screams back,
grimacing horribly.
She’s really rather frightening.
If she’s going to hang around,
the least she could do is offer to pay rent.
But no!!!
Every once in a while I do find a couple
of dollar bills on the kitchen counter,
or some loose change on my bureau or on the floor,
but that certainly isn’t enough!
In fact, though I don’t like to jump to conclusions …
I think she steals money from me regularly.
I go to the ATM and withdraw a hundred dollars,
and a few days later, it’s gone!
I certainly don’t go through it fast!
So I can only conclude that the old lady pilfers it.
You’d think she’d spend some of it on wrinkle cream.
God knows, she needs it!
And the money isn’t the only thing she’s taking.
Food seems to disappear at an alarming rate.
Especially the good stuff - ice cream, cookies, candy.
I just can’t keep them in the house.
She really has a sweet tooth.
She should watch it too, she’s really putting on the pounds.
I think she realizes that,
and to make herself feel better,
I know she is tampering with my scale
so I’ll think that I’m gaining weight too.
For an old lady, she’s really quite childish.
She also gets into my closets when
I’m not home and alters all my clothes.
They’re getting tighter every day.
Another thing I wish she’d stop messing with my files
and the papers on my desk.
I can’t find a thing any more.
This is particularly hard to deal with because
I’m extremely neat and organized.
But she manages to jumble everything up
so nothing is where it’s supposed to be.
Furthermore, when I program my VCR to tape something important,
she fiddles with it after I leave the room so
it records the wrong channel or shuts off completely.
She finds innumerable, imaginative ways to irritate me.
She gets to my newspapers, magazines
and mail before me and blurs all the print.
Then she’s done something sinister
with the volume controls on my TV, radio, and phone.
Now all I hear are mumbles and whispers.
She’s also made my stairs steeper,
my vacuum cleaner heavier,
all my knobs and faucets hard to turn,
and my bed higher
and a real challenge to climb into and out of.
Furthermore, she gets to my groceries as soon as I shelve them
and applies super glue to the tops of every jar and bottle so they’re
just about impossible to open.
Is this any way to repay my hospitality?
I don’t even get any respite at night.
More than once her snoring has awakened me.
I don’t know why she can’t do something about that.
It’s very unattractive.
As if all this isn’t bad enough,
she is no longer confining her malevolence to the house.
She’s now found a way to sneak into my car with me and follow
me wherever I go. I see her reflection in store windows as I pass,
and she’s taken all the fun out of clothes shopping because
her penchant for monopolizing mirrors has extended to dressing rooms.
When I try something on, she dons an identical outfit.
Which looks ridiculous on her and then stands directly in front of me
so I can’t see how great it looks on me.
I thought she couldn’t get any meaner than that, but yesterday
she proved me wrong. She had the nerve to come with me when I went to
have some passport pictures taken, and she actually stepped in front
of the camera just as the shutter clicked. Disaster!
I have never seen such a terrible picture.
How can I go abroad now?
No customs official is ever going to believe
that crone scowling from my passport is me.
She’s walking on very thin ice.
If she keeps this up, I swear,
I’ll put her in a home.
On second thought, I shouldn’t be too hasty.
First, I think I’ll check with the IRS
and see if I can claim her as a dependent.
A man and his wife got home from a social event, and the man looked in the window to see someone peeping at him from the doorway, he ran to the window, and to his surprise the character ran straight at him. He howled grasping his hand in pain as his wife started laughing. “What’s so funny?” he demanded, “and where did that man go?” His wife stopped laughing long enough to say, “I married him, but I can’t figure out why he just punched our mirror?”
Good evening all. Again you are a bunch of Yappy Nuts. I had a lovely day today. Escaped the art fair without spending any money, even though I was mightily tempted by a large piece of yard art. A life size nude woman created exclusively out of aluminum wire. It was a very well done piece at what I considered to be a very reasonable price, but still expensive. We instead dined on Columbia River Sturgeon at a lovely spot overlooking Puget Sound.
Lonewolf - It is. This restaurant started out over 80 years ago as a little seafood shack that was located on one of the most scenic drives in North America. Over the years it started to become a little bit fancier. It now is fancy, yet casual, with a view of the San Juan Islands, that is unbeatable. They also are open all day long so that you don’t have that gap between lunch and dinner, which always seems to be when I get hungry. I LOVE FOOD.
I am sorry for bragging, I have no desire to start anything between my two favorite places to go. I don’t want no competition as it will tear us all up and do us no good I just want peace and good fun.
johnnyd & Dry - Hello you two. I wish that I could have had the whole Tribe with me today. It was a fun day. It looks like things were cooking here as well.
You’re making it sound better and better. Too bad I’m way over in the midwest. I only got to pass by your area on my military flights to Japan, Korea and the Phillipines. The military doesn’t give you much time for sight seeing on those flights. LOL
Hey Tribe! I leave in the morning and your are on page 7. I can’t catch up!
Ladywolf- don’t let a couple of comments ruin your day. There’s no competition between these sites. I’t’s fun to be part of a group. You are lucky to be pat of two groups! We all love you.
Lonewolf - It is a pretty nice spot and I have a house on a spot that is hard to beat. My wife has turned our house on the lake into a park. She has made our yard our summer home. Even though we live here all year around. We are outside almost all summer long. I was born in the midwest and grew up there. I love going back for visits because I love the big skies and the lack of people. I was born in Manitoba and grew up in North Dakota. ND is a state that has actually lost population. I like that absence of people.
I’m the same in that I like small town venues. I need to be here as my mother is 78yrs old. I just can’t walk away since my sister passed away. And my mother is too comfortable here around what relatives are left. Eventually we will move to a small community for the “laid back years”. I don’t say retir….retire….retired because I don’t think I can ever slow down.
We are starting to get all that hot weather you guys have been getting. Ugh!!!! I don’t like the 90’s……..I’m hot blooded enough without the added heat!!!
Hi, Tribe. Wow, 7 pages; I just skimmed down the last page. Not gonna go through the whole previous 6 pages. Hope everyones still in good shape and the previous night hasn’t burned anyone out. Y’all were going so fast I couldn’t keep up with everything so I just sit back and enjoyed it.
Been spending some time on facebook lately getting my network in place. How many here on facebook? It’s awesome.
I hear you, this has been a superb summer as far as temps go. And I go swimming in 70-80 degree weather without hesitation, mostly in a lake, sometimes in a pool with the kids.
Couldn’t resist. Popped in at pibgorn and found them a nice bunch. They seem to have learned the samething Doc did- Ain’t no such animal as friendly competition. It’s in the nature of the beast to turn ugly.
A very disappointing summer in terms of swimming, I have been to lake Michigan once, and the water was frigid. Haven’t done any swimming, though. Nothing to do with the weather, I just don’t have the time.
Shika, I rarely find a friendly competition myself, and I get so overly competitive, that I try to avoid the ones that get too serious.
“OTC” a moniker penned by Mr. McEldowney himself for *The Order of The Couch” referres to the Couch of Confusion we all end up on while discussing what the latest plot is doing or where it’s going.
Friendly competition is easier when there are only two or a few personalities. The more personalities there are the more you have a chance of cliques developing which usually leads to personality conflicts. I love competition but not when I don’t know and can’t see the competition. It’s not pleasant as has been said several times earlier. I’m done with the spoon now.
I posted a comment over at Pibgorn and I would like to post it here also if I may:
*Bmonk is right, our community here at Pibgorn and the OTC is not in a competition with any other community, group, Tribe or Crew to see who can out-post the other. Kalahari remembers when a few members from each side got caught up the competion and then a few others began to take the verbal jousting to a personal level which rather ruined the intended fun.
Each group is unique in its way for topics, style, character, and activities. The Tribe had a birthday party the other day and was festive for 11 pages I think. They have proved their worth. Before the tribe at Big Top, we of the OTC at Pibgorn did well over 700 comments one evening…or was it one weekend. We have nothing we need to prove either.*
I liked that thing with the spoon… who was it that started that. ” The person who holds the spoon had the floor to speek.” I remember something like that from the book Lord of the Flies.
I agree, there is nothing to prove. I don’t post there but I do visit for the strip and to check out the banter on PB and all the other sites. I was invited to check out stories over there and that was what first got me started on that strip.
Rad I like Facebook, but I don’t go on much since it’s gotten some bad publicity about whatever you post staying forever even if you cancel your account. That’s not right in my books.
But cyberspace isn’t a private forum, so again, another reason not to get too involved with it.
But it is fun, I’ll grant you. They have some good causes to join too.
This is a public forum. I can’t explain what it means. I’d throw RRAmom’s filter all out of whack. You’ll just have to use your imagination for now Sweet Thang!!!! LOL
gmartin is a character isn’t he? He is a lovable troll. His insults, at least here, are harmless and responded to with kindness.
I think that I might be going out tonight. So I will say good night all, and P&L. :)
My sister talked me into facebook. Now my pictures are on there. I could care less if someone sees them but I would have felt better if asked. There is just TMI that is given up on the friend site we have at facebook. Seems silly to me to tell people all the moves I make. Breakfast, reading a book, brushing the cat, brushing my hair, brushing my cat while brushing my hair………well you get my drift anyhoo.
I tried to type something a moment ago of what i believe kozykitn would say about a fun game that we play. but my computer is being funny right now and it didn’t save all the way why is that, I never hit the delete button. should I clear the cache or something.
Well, it has been a beautiful day here and I am looking forward to a beautiful evening. For all of you east of me, as you drift towards slumber, have a good sleep. I hope to be here for a wee while.
Cleo You got that right! STRANGE new world!! There sure is a lot of STRANGE people out there. Wonder where they came from? Women are from Mars, and men are from Venus, is that correct? Or is it the other way around?
Dry - I do believe it is the other way around, but who cares. I long for a day with a simple cocktail, and a talk amongst friends. Life becomes hectic. The key is to find a place of solitude.
cleo–I’ve got a bathroom wall to re-tile, but nothing major. I’m sure I’ll have one or two customer show up with auto a/c problems(temps in the 90’s) and I have a water pump to fix if the customer shows up.
Promise me, ladywolf that you will never try to impersonate me again. Because if you do I’ll not be your friend anymore and will flag you when you try to talk to me.
Marg - Okay, why don’t we have a party at my place tomorrow. I will supply a liquor cabinet minus mix. You guys bring whatever you would like to use as a beverage enhancement ingredient. I will provide mussels with ginger and garllic, raw oysters, sauteed shrimp with cilantro, garlic and home grown tomatos. We have a spinach salad and a mushroom, pea risotto.
I’ll be back in a few seconds. My 13yr old is headed off to bed and I just want to go let him know how much I appreciate him acting his age. You know with all the football practice and all that he has on his shoulders. I am starting to realize tonight that I might be taking his maturity for granted. BRB
Cleo may I add some sauteed sweet red peppers, shitake mushrooms, vadalia onions, and garlic with olive oil. I will do the stir frying so you don’t have to.
You’re making me hungry with the food talk. Two problems. One, hard to find seafood that easy in these parts. Two, one of the side effects of steroid treatment is an increased appetite. I don’t need to be eating at 11:00PM.
I like the additions to cleo’s spread. And yes it is nice having you around. Hard to calm me down when I get going, but you, Marg and cleo have done that here amazingly enough. Even my little wolfangil here is surpised that I calmed down so fast.
Shika–I always am out of my ‘puter’s sight when you go to sleep. Most of the time you come back, but when you don’t and I don’t get to say Good Night, I just get the shakes, can’t sleep and run out of tissues. lol
Let’s see… I didn’t make notes, so I hope I remember. This hotel’s connection is as slow as dial-up when it is peak time for the guests to use it! So, I’m going to post, and then get off until tomorrow. If I’m lucky, I can get on during non-peak useage times.
doc - the old geezers were talking about coffee they made before you were even born! (1950’S)
Dry - I don’t know much about pro football, since my brothers were interested in collegiate. Were the Eagles a team back in the 70’s, or are they a more recent development? My hubby’s from western PA, and his mom is from P-burgh, if I remember correctly, so that’s probably why he knows more about the Steelers.
Lonewolf - Thanks for being considerate of my filter!
Shika - I think what Lonewolf is referring to as a public forum is that it is open to anyone who wants to read it, but it is monitored with the idea of keeping it family friendly. I could be wrong, but that’s my take. I think my filter won’t allow me to be on actual chatrooms, because they aren’t monitored like this forum.
bmonk - I think I’d read that years ago, but now that I’m 50, I’m living it. Especially today when my joints didn’t want to cooperate with me when I wanted to climb up or down. My memory’s slipping too! I think my hearing is okay, I think I just forget to tune in when people are talking, or else it goes right in one ear & out the other. The eyesight isn’t good either - got an appointment in a couple of weeks with a retina specialist. Thanks for the smiles! (Too hard to laugh when it is too close to RL!)
Good night, tribe!
Yeah, but only we here will know what a Shika is. Pulling a Shika might sound to the untrained ear as if your acting like some Sheek out of Egypt or some royalty thing. LOL
RRAMom The Philadelphia Eagles have been around since the beginning of the NFL way back in the day!
The Steelers also. The Steelers were orignally in the NFL, then the NFL had so many franchises that they split into the NFC and the AFC. Now PIttsburgh is in the AFC. So many teams, so many good games. You should learn about it, you might like it.
Shika i finaly catch you. its been a while sis. how are ya?
you remember the other night when it was a ”Shika curve”? well i turned a curve to fast walking and triped and ran into my friend and said sorry then busted out laughing bc i thought of you and told her i had a shika curve… she looked at me crazy. i pulled a shika alot lately its okay. we love you for it.
terry don’t feel bad bc we didnt do anything it was people playing un wanted games under our big top that made us go past Carmy’s birthday strip.
i think it was u who asked how my day was. it was good. long but good. and now im heading to bed bc i cant keep my eyes open. not pulling a shika i sware. unlike DRY lol your welcome girl.
bleeep it i am pulling a Shika i didn’t mean to run away. i just got distracted. i can’t belive its the same paper Shika get it going. lol just messing with you. if you need help we can meet under another comic just let me knwo and i can see what i can help you with, but for now my brain is on sleep mode. the little guy in there turning the wheals done fell alseep. so good night all.
Good Night tabby. It’s okay. It’s too late to change anything. I just have to get down to finishing the paper. I don’t know how to write a curriculum. Don’t know why I thought it would be easy.

Wow! That’s what I have to live up to if I’m ever first again… If I am, I’d better be prepared. Last time, I just had to run out to get what I could.
Gonna hit the hay now…

margueritem: i, too like spinach quiche.

Akenta over 15 years ago
ok, i’m looking at creating a football league for us. Got a name and password - now I’m stuck. I’ll take suggestions;
live draft or autopick (or offline) Head to head or Points Only
I think the rest I’m comfortable with. I worry about a live draft since we’re all over the country. And I have no idea which scoring type will be more fun.
COWBOY7 over 15 years ago

Autopick is fine for a fun league, which is what we are all about here. Head to head seems to be more interesting for all types of players.
COWBOY7 over 15 years ago

I play head to head in my baseball leagues. That’s why I have a 13-4 record. I’m not sure how yours is calculated. My total points at the moment is over 3800, but that is only used for tie breakers.

Yes, I taped it together, and turned it into the bank. Looking back, I should have kept it, just for the memories. After that experience, I had to keep scissors under lock & key, because I was afraid he’d start cutting up MY money.

COWBOY7 over 15 years ago
That’s where I know you from. I knew that typing looked familiar……………………….
Yeah but that wierdo down the street with the 60’s flower shirt and volkswagon bus with the murals on it bought the siding for his brick house.
johnnydoc5 over 15 years ago
I have the biggest house on the street, well my parents do. My place in AA is hard to find, because I don’t always remember where it is…. I’d better look into that.
bmonk over 15 years ago
I live in a brick house now too, only it’s a different color of brick.
yyyguy over 15 years ago
i remember my kindergarten teacher trying to get a pupil to explain where his “new house” was (because he rode the bus and the parents didn’t come to the school. aah the good old days). all he could remember was that it was “on top of the hill” - not even the town, let alone the street. try mapquesting something like that, these days.
johnnydoc5 over 15 years ago
Hey, I lived on top of a hill, but I knew the street name.
Smiley Rmom over 15 years ago
Hi, Lonewolf! bmonk - I wish we had brick or stone exterior! My husband insisted on vinyl siding, but now we don’t believe those commercials that claim “vinyl is final”. The wind has blown off more pieces than I remember, and after the siding has aged a little, it gets brittle. Then a hail storm came, and left big holes in it. My husband decided to use a flame thrower to get rid of a snake up by the (attached) garage, and melted the siding. I wanted stone veneer, but I didn’t win that battle. I figured stone was better than brick, because if a hail storm or something broke a little off, no one would notice.
yyyguy over 15 years ago
i live near a pond (but in an apartment building - condo). lots of green to be seen, mostly tree tops. i’ve lived my whole life in this town, and haven’t found another place i’d rather be, though i’ve looked around a fair bit.

@Terry, I didn’t exactly start it; it got started sometime yesterday. I just breathed new life into it.
Smiley Rmom over 15 years ago
Even though we’ve lived at the same address for about 14 years, my sons didn’t get their address memorized until they were in high school. With homeschooling, they didn’t need to know it often enough to get it memorized. Whenever they’d take a standardized test, I’d have to make sure they had it in writing with them. I still have to quiz them when I know I won’t be with them to fill out a form that needs it, but at least now I tell them they can look at their DL (or learner’s permit) if they don’t remember.

I second the Favre sentiment Dry. On the other hand, I liked Landry and Staubach back in the day. But as Staubach has gotten older, he has gotten a big head and doesn’t act as classy as he did as a player.

COWBOY7 over 15 years ago
johnny—You’re probably right about the competition thing.
bmonk over 15 years ago
@Terry, I know the feeling. And I hear it only gets worse as you grow older:
STRANGE OLD LADY
A very weird thing has happened. A strange old lady has moved into my house. I have no idea who she is, where she came from, or how she got in. I certainly didn’t invite her. All I know is that one day she wasn’t there, and the next day she was.
She’s very clever. She manages to keep out of sight for the most part, but whenever I pass a mirror, I catch a glimpse of her there, and when I look into a mirror directly to check my appearance, suddenly she’s hogging the whole thing, completely obliterating my gorgeous face and body. It’s very disconcerting.
I’ve tried screaming at her to leave but she just screams back, grimacing horribly. She’s really rather frightening. If she’s going to hang around, the least she could do is offer to pay rent.
But no!!! Every once in a while I do find a couple of dollar bills on the kitchen counter, or some loose change on my bureau or on the floor, but that certainly isn’t enough! In fact, though I don’t like to jump to conclusions … I think she steals money from me regularly.
I go to the ATM and withdraw a hundred dollars, and a few days later, it’s gone!
I think she realizes that, and to make herself feel better, I know she is tampering with my scale so I’ll think that I’m gaining weight too.
For an old lady, she’s really quite childish. She also gets into my closets when I’m not home and alters all my clothes. They’re getting tighter every day.
Another thing I wish she’d stop messing with my files and the papers on my desk. I can’t find a thing any more. This is particularly hard to deal with because I’m extremely neat and organized. But she manages to jumble everything up so nothing is where it’s supposed to be.
Furthermore, when I program my VCR to tape something important, she fiddles with it after I leave the room so it records the wrong channel or shuts off completely. She finds innumerable, imaginative ways to irritate me. She gets to my newspapers, magazines and mail before me and blurs all the print. Then she’s done something sinister with the volume controls on my TV, radio, and phone.
Now all I hear are mumbles and whispers. She’s also made my stairs steeper, my vacuum cleaner heavier, all my knobs and faucets hard to turn, and my bed higher and a real challenge to climb into and out of.
Furthermore, she gets to my groceries as soon as I shelve them and applies super glue to the tops of every jar and bottle so they’re just about impossible to open. Is this any way to repay my hospitality? I don’t even get any respite at night. More than once her snoring has awakened me. I don’t know why she can’t do something about that. It’s very unattractive.
As if all this isn’t bad enough, she is no longer confining her malevolence to the house. She’s now found a way to sneak into my car with me and follow me wherever I go. I see her reflection in store windows as I pass, and she’s taken all the fun out of clothes shopping because her penchant for monopolizing mirrors has extended to dressing rooms.
When I try something on, she dons an identical outfit. Which looks ridiculous on her and then stands directly in front of me so I can’t see how great it looks on me.
I thought she couldn’t get any meaner than that, but yesterday she proved me wrong. She had the nerve to come with me when I went to have some passport pictures taken, and she actually stepped in front of the camera just as the shutter clicked. Disaster!
I have never seen such a terrible picture. How can I go abroad now? No customs official is ever going to believe that crone scowling from my passport is me. She’s walking on very thin ice. If she keeps this up, I swear, I’ll put her in a home. On second thought, I shouldn’t be too hasty. First, I think I’ll check with the IRS and see if I can claim her as a dependent.

Good evening all. Again you are a bunch of Yappy Nuts. I had a lovely day today. Escaped the art fair without spending any money, even though I was mightily tempted by a large piece of yard art.

This is a public forum. I can’t explain what it means. I’d throw RRAmom’s filter all out of whack. You’ll just have to use your imagination for now Sweet Thang!!!! LOL
Radical-Knight over 15 years ago
I don’t remember where the spoon came from, but it was a device used to keep everyone from speaking at the same time or out of order.
johnnydoc5 over 15 years ago
gmartin is a character isn’t he? He is a lovable troll. His insults, at least here, are harmless and responded to with kindness. I think that I might be going out tonight. So I will say good night all, and P&L. :)

Shika - I post when I can. I try to come and spend some time, but often RL intrudes.

I’ve heard his comments and usually it’s nothing more than a humorously sarcarcastic poke at something or someone.

Shikamoo Premium Member over 15 years ago
Rad I think I remember hearing that too. But then, what is Terry referring to that can’t be mentioned without throwing RRAmom’s filter out of whack?

Let’s see… I didn’t make notes, so I hope I remember. This hotel’s connection is as slow as dial-up when it is peak time for the guests to use it! So, I’m going to post, and then get off until tomorrow. If I’m lucky, I can get on during non-peak useage times. doc - the old geezers were talking about coffee they made before you were even born! (1950’S) Dry - I don’t know much about pro football, since my brothers were interested in collegiate. (Too hard to laugh when it is too close to RL!) Good night, tribe!
