Scrambled eggs and sausage patties with toast is perfect.
I’ll pitch in with breakfast burritos and assorted juices and of course Doc’s Nuked Coffee stright from the pipeline.
I’m not usually up this late. Do you guys have a routine, or does everyone do their own thing? I don’t think I’ll make the rounds tonight, unless that’s what you do first.
I am about done also you two. There’s a show on about Yellowstone National Park and the part about the wolves is on. I’ll watch that and probably doze off. It’s been a really long day. Boy, has it ever been a long day!!!

This could be a catastrophe. I might start seeing double or something worse…………..I might turn into one of those……………no, I can’t even say it…………Aaaiiiiieeeee!!!
Nice avatar! Each day for me is a new day. Today is gorgeous here in Chi-town. And my day is awesome.
Wolfangil is at my side, the kids are healthy and I’m conversing with my friends.
I have brought the Krispy Kreams, a wide assortment of the creams and jelly filled ones, too. Scrambled eggs w/cheese sounds wonderful….but just smelling Doc’s nuclear coffee has sped up my heartrate…that’s some powerful stuff Doc.
I’m gearing up for another week off. Gonna try and get the house in order this time. Last time…some may recall…I was sick most of my week off and didn’t get a lot done (and not because I was yacking with the Tribe all the time). So far so good…at least I didn’t come home sick.
doc I like the avatar, though I had to enlarge it to see what was on the head. Not sure how my cats would react. Otto likes to act tough, but he’s a very jumpy cat. Flora would probably help Boots corner it.
Doc mine are indoor too. Hopefully if a mouse does get into the house, it will find the catnip first and then the cats will know what to attack. For your house, I hope the mice don’t get to the coffee first - that battle could destroy everything.
DOC
I’ve mentioned before that I was conditioned on military coffee at an early age. That’s why I don’t understand what all the hullabaloo is over your delicious brew!
Morning Tribe, sorry about bugging out the way I did last night. I was getting ready to do some serious commenting but wifey wanted to talk for awhile and after that I forgot what I was gonna say and went to bed. Hope everyone is well.
I saw some Ren & Stimpy stuff on TV, never heard of Power Toast Man; wasn’t quite into that type of toons. Forget Spongebob or Cow & Chicken, I personally avoid it, not my idea of entertainment. Johnny Quest, and Bugs Bunny is more my style. I may have outgrown most the TV toons and Nickleodeon stuff but still enjoy a cruise around Gocomics.
I’ve been working on Outlook signatures that refuse to organize for me and why gocomics won’t accept some pictures as avatars. My brain hurts, I’m gonna cruise the toons.
Rad, I made a goof, it’s actually Powdered Toast Man. He would come out on Ren and Stimpy, kind of like a commercial. Oh, like Log,it’s better than bad, it’s good!
I liked Johnny Quest too.
That’s what I’m talking about…..Johnny Quest, Bugs Bunny, Roadrunner(where is JFri anyways), Yogi, Mr. Magoo, Speed Racer, Flinstones………. all the good ones are becoming just memories.
My favorite as a small(4-5 yr old) was Huckleberry Hound. My mother says she caught me painting our dalmation with blue water colors. LOL For those not familiar with Huckleberry Hound, he was a blue dog.
Uh, hello?! Little six inch child-like elf with the pony-tail and wearing a green mini here?! Well, you can’t see much of my green mini because of my close-up in the avatar here (in fact it looks as though I have on nothing!), but I’ve been trying to get your attention all morning and now it’s afternoon (at least in the eastern part of North America it’s noon). Now is there anyone out there who’s fully awake and ready see me, hmm?
I worked with a guy named Charley Blakeley who had a natural country drawl like Huckleberry Hound when he talked. It was hard to listen to him without smiling. I’m still trying but just cannot get the right drawl. “Real cool, Man, Real Cool”.
hi tribe. late today, due to donating blood first thing in am.
i’ve had breakfast, but i’ll try some of Doc’s nuclear coffee to help rebuild my corpuscles.
if i’m not too late to add my faves to the list…
Flintstones, Ruff & Reddy, Quick Draw McGraw, Augie Doggie & Doggie Daddy…
I am a huge fan of Jonny Quest (the originals, especially, with Tim Matheson as Jonny’s voice). Race Bannon was the first left handed person I ever saw on TV. I also like the original version of George of the Jungle (with Tom Slick and Super Chicken). I’ve mentioned my love of Warner Bros. cartoons and Rocky & Bullwinkle, before.
it was good to see that Joy showed up, if i remember correctly, she spoke very nicely in answer to the one time i ever made known my attitude on God and religion (which i know isn’t allowed here, so i’ll say no more about it).
i’ve heard that, it’s what i was hoping for. especially since i’m going to a friends “stag” tonight. i don’t want the alcohol to have more of an effect than normal. here’s hoping it helps.
Tabby I don’t know if you’ll come on today, I just thought I’d take the time and say that I hope you feel better. This forum is not the same without you.
Hello everyone. I won’t try to name all as there are too many . (((((((((((((ALL)))))))))))) You know who you are anyway.
By the way Doc some of your coffee must have escaped and melted a hole through our roof. It has been raining for 2 days and we have to swim through the kitchen. It has been so dry here but now I guess we’re getting all the seasons rain in one weekend. Rain can get tiresome very soon, especially through the roof.
That is a very nice avatar you have Doc He looks just like a cat that we used to have. Not the mouse though. This was a tranplanted barn cat and a hunter. Though he is long gone now, I still miss him. I don’t have any cats now and our dog is getting pretty old too, though still healthy. I am not looking forward to a home without animals. So can I have him back when you’re finished with him?
Real Cool, Man, Real Cool.
I’l do the thinnin’ around here.
Exit stage Left e-ven.
Hey Mister Ranger!
Which way did he go, George?
I SAY, LISTEN UP, BOY!!!
Does everyone recognize those few famous lines?
I’m up Doc! I’ve been up quite a while, but my computer is doing a backup now, so I’m here until I can get back to catching up on “puter things to do here.
What happened to summer? RL suddenly has speeded up. :-(
The funny thing is, I can here those voices in my head, but I couldn’t remember the names. I’d forgotten about Snagglepuss, for instance. I remember Sylvester more.
Summer has gone by quickly, next thing I know, it’ll be back to school as well as work. Yes I’m keeping my job and will switch to part time. And with school and work, I won’t have much time to write stories except on the weekends.
Real Cool, Man, Real Cool.
I’l do the thinnin’ around here.
Exit stage Left e-ven.
Hey Mister Ranger!
Which way did he go, George?
I SAY, LISTEN UP, BOY!!!
Does everyone recognize those few famous lines?
okay shika, here are my guesses.
Benny, from Top Cat? (not too sure about this one.)
Quick Draw McGraw.
Snagglepuss. (caused me no end of trouble learning left from right.)
definitely, Boo Boo. (Yogi usually put a “Sir” on the end of it in his best Sgt. Bilko voice.)
the abominable snowman from Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck cartoons. (i remember only a couple of them.)
Foghorn Leghorn.
WOW
a lot of posts in the time it took me to type up my guesses.
good for a chuckle. anyhow, time to check out the EPL Soccer before my MLS game starts. Might make it back late tonight, might not. Depends on how good the party is (in RL). TTFN.
one more thing before i leave. cleo mentioned Thunderbirds earlier. I watched a bit of that as a child, but much preferred Supercar, Stingray, and especially Fireball XL5! (now i’ve got the theme running through my head. “I wish I was a Spaceman, the fastest guy alive. I’d fly across the universe, in Fireball XL5….”)
really have to fly now. bye tribe!
@Rad: for the “beevair” quote, he was a French Canadian version of Yosemite Sam, named Black Jacques Shellac, (the roughest, toughest, muk luk-est canuck in the whole North West!) in the cartoon where Bugs kept trying to shower under a waterfall while Jacques kept damming the river. Bugs (of course you know, this means WAR!) then built a series of dams, ever farther up stream as Jacques kept destroying them, until he fired his cannon at “Grand Cooler Dam” and was taken away for a 30 year jail term.
I really wish I could watch some of those old cartoons again. The new ones just aren’t the same. Does anyone else wish they could have wandered around in the Flintstones house?
Rad- I guess, I’d better get going. This backup is going to take a while, and I should get out and run errands before the day disappears. See you later tonight maybe? Much later, I’m afraid.
Did you have to mention the Flintstones? LOL I loved them. I think I watched them at noon long into my 30’s whenever I was home. Until they stopped showing them anyways.
yyyguy , go to your home page, and click on profile. Click on edit profile. That should give you a box where you can remove yyyguy, and put in something else of your choice.
I haven’t watched TV on over 6 Years. I have no Idea what is or isn’t on TV anymore. The closest to TV I get is what’s at the restaurant up in the corner or on the wall.
Rad Now that I have a computer, I’m glad I don’t watch T.V. I’d never get anything done. LOL
I never thought I’d see the day that I’d eat in front of a computer, but, living alone, I either do that, or read something while I eat. I get bored just eating with nothing to occupy my mind. don’t know why.
when I’m with friends, of course, I don’t need to be entertained, LOL
Maybe they aren’t new, but we didn’t have them in Canada. I only watched Canadian channels, which carried Warner Bros., Hannah-Barbera and MGM- maybe one or two other cartoon productions. And Walt Disney, of course.
The rest may have not made it up here, I don’t know.
You don’t have wait until the holidays to see me! I’ll be here on the weekends. My boss at the retail store told me starting next week that the store I work at will limit their business days to five days a week instead of six!
I have been reading the posts and doing some reminiscing today.
Does anyone remember these?
Howdy Doody, Tugboat Annie, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, I Love Lucy, Ozzie and Harriett, Lassie and Maggie Muggins were not cartoons but they were children’s programs that showed after school when I was a child. My sister and I would walk over to my aunt’s home to watch since she was the only one we knew who had a tv set for the first year or so when tv came to Calgary. Before that we went to the movie theatre on Saturday and, for a nickle, saw all the old series - Texas Rangers, Buck Rogers, The Lone Ranger, Captain Marvel, Three Stooges, Mighty Mouse, Bugs Bunny, and others at the matinee.
So talking about cartoons then and now? Don’t bother to ask my cousin Tink any old cartoon shows, She was born in the early 1990’s She only know cartoons like “Ducktales”! Me, I’ve seen cartoons like “Milton The Monster”, “The Mighty Heroes”, “The Super Six”, “The Herculoids”, “Wacky Racers”, you name
‘em, I’ve seen them! Over a half century of toons I’ve watched and I haven’t stop yet!
Yes, Shika, I do remember the Friendly Giant, and Captain Kangaroo. I even watched them with my kids until they went off the air. The Friendly Giant was Canadian so I imagine the others won’t know it - except perhaps DF.
And Dry, I also remember Sky Ranger, My Friend Flicka and Rin Tin Tin? In fact my eldest son watched Rin Tin Tin in French when we were in Quebec. He couldn’t understand French but sure understood the program along with the Australian Skippy le Kangaroo.
Maggy Muggins was a very early tv program - probably before you two were born - I don’t know if it was Canadian or not but I do remember the little girl skipping around the Mr Magillicutty’s garden. I used to remember the theme song. Maybe it will come back to me.
Josh I was born in the early 1990”s as well but can remember lots of those shows due to the good old days of the vhs tapes that my dad has. There buried now in our attic somewhere in boxes.
Oh, she used watch “Pokemon” until she got sick of those idiots on that show called “Team Rocket”! We watched mostly Disney. Nickelodeon, and Time-Warner shows. In the old days of analog TV, we only had three networks and PBS (NET in the early days).
RAD You mentioned Fred and Barney smoking near the fence for a cigarette commercial. They cut those segments out for Canadian T.V.
One funny thing I remember is tuning into an American channel several years ago to watch Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd. They censored all the violence out, so there was hardly anything left. Good thing I knew the original cartoon. Our’s weren’t censored, from ehat I recall.
I mean, what they have now is far more violent and realistic.
But the intention was good. Just misguided, in general.
Football practice is over, our team won at pool. all I need to do is eat and spend the remaining evening with some friends!!
You guys went totally yappy while I was gone. My, my! And all the old cartoon titles. Brings back all kinds of memories indeed! We were doing that when I left!!
Wow we are all busy, and yet can still find time to communicate. Life sure is good when you can manage to sit back catch your breath and mingle with friends.
I have been getting my files backed up since before noon. Is it normal to take so long? This happened last time and it was on all night. I finally stopped it- and it said that the backup was interrupted.
I want you all to know that I’m grateful for all that you’ve done for me.
You help encourage me to stick with my writing.
And you helped me realize what a total ditz I was, when ever I was way out of control.
You could have easily flagged me, but you didn’t. That means a lot to me. You all are truly wonderful people, and even though this is an internet forum, I am truly blessed to have friends like you.
Shiaka You also may have some unnecessary programs on there. I had the Weather Channel on my desktop and my son told me to get rid of it. My computer was much faster after that. I bookmarked it instead and can go there to get the weather. I thought it was a neat little gadget so I installed it, ended up uninstalling.
Shika this is only a guess, but being that a computer has a lot of files and also depending on it’s speed it would probably take all night for it to complete the back up files.
but then what do I know, I’m not that well educated on computers yet.
Backups on ‘puters should not take all that long. When I back up mine it takes about 10-15 minutes but I don’t do anything else during that time. Everytime you do something it is a new entry that the backup needs to configure, so to speak.
Oh where oh were can my UnderDog be?,
Go, Go Gophers watch them go, go go. Here come the Cornael(sp) and his Sargent both are a Roaring and a’charging*Kill the rabbit! Kill the RABBIT! KILL THE RAABBIIITTT!!
That’s the only ones which come to mind which I don’t recall from the last 5.5 pages. I lived for Saturday’s too. I’m always humming theme songs.
I’m back! And come to think of it the abominable snowman that always wanted a rabbit for a pet and ended up with Daffy Duck for the most part or should I say George as he would love him, and hug him and squeeze him an those petting that he gave to poor Daffy which would shoot Daffy’s neck out.
You all know what I’m talking about right!
Well as they say in broadcasting way back when, the old clock on the wall says it’s time to go. So Until tomorrow at somewhere around the early AM, this Josh1360 saying that all of my time. I thank you all so much for your time. Happy trails to you (Until we meet again).
Sorry Shika I was stuck on the other page, Didn’t see where you asked me a question. If you’re doing anything on a computer, making backups, updating a screen, typing, etc… you’re using memory. shut downeverything you don’t need to make you’re backups run faster with less interruption. I run mine at night when I’ve gone to bed.
If memory serves the broadcast day began with that poem/prayer about the jet pilot who flies up. reaches out and touches the face of God.
The day ended with the National Anthem, fade to static.
So, with the National Anthem playing I fade my computer to static and will see you guys tomorrow. I will sneak in before morning to stash come Krispy Kreams on the table for breakfast.
carmy - Hello sweetie. I am in the middle of a busy time. We have been painting a bedroom, that my wife’s daughter painted in very dark colors and it is a dark room to begin with. So at least to coats of primer before painting, plus she painted the trim the same color. We also have company and will get more on Wednesday. I will be posting much less often over the next two weeks.
I give up. My backup hasn’t budged in over an hour. Last time I left it like that at night, it was the same in the morning. But when I stopped it, it kept trying to restart the backup!
AAAAARRGGHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had it set on 3:00a.m. in the morning, but something screwed up in May and I turned the auto backup off. I just remembered it today. Why, oh why?
Cleo, I hope you have fun visiting with your company because I know you’re not having fun painting. Please join us whenever you can as we will miss your streaking through here.
((((((((((((Cleo))))))))))))))))
Shika why don’t you try a restore on your computer, back before you weren’t having problems. It should be safe, with my computer it is. Read what it says if you try that. If it says your data will be saved maybe you should try that. But don’t sue me if it doens’t work. I know some things, but not all!
Quaby Our test pattern played “God Save the Queen” in the morning and I think that and “O Canada” at night. I loved waiting for the test pattern!
I’m told I walked in my sleep as a child and once was found sitting in front of the stereo fiddling with the knobs and talking to my friends on the “T.V.”
carmy It asked for one disk, and then I went groceryshopping. I don’t think it asked for another, but I’ll check. wouldn’t there still be a request for a third disk if it needed one?
Sorry I missed you Shika.
Unplug it if you have too. Tomorrow, when you have the time, try the backup again. Don’t leave, watch the backup and see if it asks you for another disk or if it alerts you about something in regards to the disk that you put in. It may need to be formatted or maybe it is full and you need a new disk.
Shika & carmy - It seems as if you both are still around. Just finished watching our movie of the evening. Thank you for your consideration on my soon to be lack of participation coming up. I know that I will suffer withdrawal as I have my visitors. I may be able to post a few posts here and there. At least I have those intentions.
Dry you said: “IT’S A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN THE NEIGHBORHOO, IT’S A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD… … .”
Wasn’t that a great show for kids? My bil didn’t like the fact that Mr. Rogers was a gentle man so wouldn’t let his girls watch. I think it showed more about his own insecurities. My boys loved it - far more than Sesame Street that moved too quickly and seemed to make kids hyper.
Cleo, I too will miss your comments.
BTW how do you store blackberries? Washed or unwashed? Ours are just ripening so I’m planning to pick starting tomorrow. Of course we’ve had several treats while on walks and they aren’t washed…
dawn Fred Rogers was a kind and gentle man, good father, wonderful husband, warm and caring God fearing man. And his show was so instructional! He was a GOOD MAN!!
Dawn - I don’t know about anybody else, but my wife and I eat berries all year long. We freeze a lot of fruit. Berries like raspberries and strawberries and black berries, we stick on a baking sheet in rows with the berries not touching. We stick them in the freezer and allow them to freeze, then we put them in freezer bags. With blueberries we just put fresh blueberries in freezer bags as they are.
Dry,I agree completely and so does my husband who has a similar temperament, and we argued the point with my brother-in-law very regularly. But then, my bil is a strange character.
dawn I know what you mean! Some peoples minds can’t be changed no matter how wrong they are, so I just give up and figure they are jerks, and let the chips fall where they may!
We grow most of our own berries, but even those that we don’t , we do not wash. We probably should, but we don’t. But, like I said, most of our berries are our own. We supplement our supply on blueberries by buying locally. This is the first year where our blueberries have been supplying a lot of fruit, but still not enough to get us through the winter.
Dawn - Blackberries that grow along the side of a path are fine. If you are picking them on a dirt road with lots of traffic, you might want to rinse them, but we have plenty in areas only associated with foot traffic and we never even think of washing them.
Thanks Cleo we don’t if we’re eating them while on the walk and don’t bother with the ones on dusty roads. Just wondered about when freezing so you have saved me a lot of time.

Whooosh!!!

hi tribe. late today, due to donating blood first thing in am. i’ve had breakfast, but i’ll try some of Doc’s nuclear coffee to help rebuild my corpuscles. if i’m not too late to add my faves to the list… Flintstones, Ruff & Reddy, Quick Draw McGraw, Augie Doggie & Doggie Daddy… I am a huge fan of Jonny Quest (the originals, especially, with Tim Matheson as Jonny’s voice).

Bugs (of course you know, this means WAR!) then built a series of dams, ever farther up stream as Jacques kept destroying them, until he fired his cannon at “Grand Cooler Dam” and was taken away for a 30 year jail term.

Hi Tribe,
I have been reading the posts and doing some reminiscing today.
Those were the DaysShikamoo Premium Member over 15 years ago
Hi DAWN I can’t stay, but I remember most of those.
THOSE WERE THE DAYS, INDEED! My sister didn’t watch as much as I did though. I loved the childrens shows.

Me, I’ve seen cartoons like “Milton The Monster”, “The Mighty Heroes”, “The Super Six”, “The Herculoids”, “Wacky Racers”, you name ‘em, I’ve seen them! Over a half century of toons I’ve watched and I haven’t stop yet!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
dawn the only one I don’t remember is Maggie Muggins. Do you remember Sky Ranger? or Flicka? Rin Tin Tin? The Hathaways?
DawnAvril over 15 years ago
DawnAvril over 15 years ago
Oops - it was Mr Magarrity’s garden and it was a Canadian show put out by the CBC - just looked it up. Now, who was Mr Magillicutty?

RAD You mentioned Fred and Barney smoking near the fence for a cigarette commercial. They cut those segments out for Canadian T.V.
One funny thing I remember is tuning into an American channel several years ago to watch Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd. They censored all the violence out, so there was hardly anything left. Good thing I knew the original cartoon. Our’s weren’t censored, from ehat I recall.
I mean, what they have now is far more violent and realistic.
But the intention was good. Just misguided, in general.

I have been getting my files backed up since before noon. Is it normal to take so long? This happened last time and it was on all night. I finally stopped it- and it said that the backup was interrupted.
ladywolf17 over 15 years ago
I want you all to know that I’m grateful for all that you’ve done for me.
You help encourage me to stick with my writing.
And you helped me realize what a total ditz I was, when ever I was way out of control.
You could have easily flagged me, but you didn’t. That means a lot to me. You all are truly wonderful people, and even though this is an internet forum, I am truly blessed to have friends like you.

shika you may have too much stored on your computer. Check how much disk free space you have.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
Shiaka You also may have some unnecessary programs on there. I had the Weather Channel on my desktop and my son told me to get rid of it. My computer was much faster after that. I bookmarked it instead and can go there to get the weather. I thought it was a neat little gadget so I installed it, ended up uninstalling.
COWBOY7 over 15 years ago
Dry–How are you, beautiful
Shika–Hey thare, Sweet Thang!!!
ladywolf17 over 15 years ago
Shika this is only a guess, but being that a computer has a lot of files and also depending on it’s speed it would probably take all night for it to complete the back up files.
but then what do I know, I’m not that well educated on computers yet.

Backups on ‘puters should not take all that long. When I back up mine it takes about 10-15 minutes but I don’t do anything else during that time. Everytime you do something it is a new entry that the backup needs to configure, so to speak.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
Terry Shika I like you, but I don’t post one word posts. Now that is LOONEY TOONS! ROFLMAO terry cut me a break, PLEASE!!! LOL

Now you tell me.
Should I log off?
I was off the computer for 30 hours after the walk down Looney Lane.

Doc Is Titten okay? If she sounds like that when she’s backed up, that’s not a good sign! LOL
ladywolf17 over 15 years ago
Shikamoo Premium Member over 15 years ago
That’s okay Doc Mua’s a big boy. I don’t even want to tell you what he sounds like when he’s backed up! LOL
Okay, enough childish humour here.
What about Casper, the Friendly Ghost? I liked those cartoons too.

bye bye, and see you later.Radical-Knight over 15 years ago
Sorry Shika I was stuck on the other page, Didn’t see where you asked me a question. If you’re doing anything on a computer, making backups, updating a screen, typing, etc… you’re using memory. shut downeverything you don’t need to make you’re backups run faster with less interruption. I run mine at night when I’ve gone to bed.

Why, oh why?
carmy over 15 years ago
Cleo, I hope you have fun visiting with your company because I know you’re not having fun painting. Please join us whenever you can as we will miss your streaking through here. ((((((((((((Cleo))))))))))))))))

Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
Shika why don’t you try a restore on your computer, back before you weren’t having problems. It should be safe, with my computer it is. Read what it says if you try that. If it says your data will be saved maybe you should try that. But don’t sue me if it doens’t work. I know some things, but not all!
Shikamoo Premium Member over 15 years ago
Quaby Our test pattern played “God Save the Queen” in the morning and I think that and “O Canada” at night. I loved waiting for the test pattern!
I’m told I walked in my sleep as a child and once was found sitting in front of the stereo fiddling with the knobs and talking to my friends on the “T.V.”
I probably shoudn’t admit to doing that, LOL!
Shikamoo Premium Member over 15 years ago
Dry Will you lend me your computer if something goes wrong? LOL all my work is on this baby.
Do I stop the backup regardless now, and then try the restore? It’s almost midnight, and I have to get up early tomorrow morning. :-(

carmy over 15 years ago
Shika, something has to be wrong with your backup. It shouldn’t take that long. Does it ask you for a disk?
Dryroadtrip has been postponed.
Shikamoo Premium Member over 15 years ago
Rad (You expected this, so quit-yer-b*tchin’) Either the “sandman cometh”, or the “sandman doth come” but he can’t do both! LOL
:-Pcarmy over 15 years ago
Goodnight Rad!
Shika, I’m waiting for you to pull a shika.
Shikamoo Premium Member over 15 years ago
carmy It asked for one disk, and then I went groceryshopping. I don’t think it asked for another, but I’ll check. wouldn’t there still be a request for a third disk if it needed one?
Hurry! I’m going to bed any minute. I’m fed up.
Shikamoo Premium Member over 15 years ago
Too late carmy I already did.
I can’t even turn off the backup now. It has a mind of it’s own. This is what happened in May too. that’s why I left it on all night. :-(
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
Sorry Shika, I’ve had a rough day and couldn’t resist! You were the last one left to rag on!
carmy over 15 years ago
Sorry I missed you Shika. Unplug it if you have too. Tomorrow, when you have the time, try the backup again. Don’t leave, watch the backup and see if it asks you for another disk or if it alerts you about something in regards to the disk that you put in. It may need to be formatted or maybe it is full and you need a new disk.
cleokaya over 15 years ago
Shika & carmy - It seems as if you both are still around. Just finished watching our movie of the evening. Thank you for your consideration on my soon to be lack of participation coming up. I know that I will suffer withdrawal as I have my visitors. I may be able to post a few posts here and there. At least I have those intentions.

Dry - I am glad that I missed your wrath.
DawnAvril over 15 years ago
Dry you said: “IT’S A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN THE NEIGHBORHOO, IT’S A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD… … .” Wasn’t that a great show for kids? My bil didn’t like the fact that Mr. Rogers was a gentle man so wouldn’t let his girls watch. I think it showed more about his own insecurities. My boys loved it - far more than Sesame Street that moved too quickly and seemed to make kids hyper.
DawnAvril over 15 years ago
Cleo, I too will miss your comments. BTW how do you store blackberries? Washed or unwashed? Ours are just ripening so I’m planning to pick starting tomorrow. Of course we’ve had several treats while on walks and they aren’t washed…
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
dawn Fred Rogers was a kind and gentle man, good father, wonderful husband, warm and caring God fearing man. And his show was so instructional! He was a GOOD MAN!!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
Cleo What wrath??? LOL
I SAID “SAY NOT SO” THAT WE WOULDN’T SEE YOU MUCH, TURD!! I USALLY RESERVE THAT “TURD” COMMENT FOR JFrI BUT TONITE YOU FIT THE BILL!!!
cleokaya over 15 years ago
Dawn - I don’t know about anybody else, but my wife and I eat berries all year long. We freeze a lot of fruit. Berries like raspberries and strawberries and black berries, we stick on a baking sheet in rows with the berries not touching. We stick them in the freezer and allow them to freeze, then we put them in freezer bags. With blueberries we just put fresh blueberries in freezer bags as they are.
DawnAvril over 15 years ago
Dry,I agree completely and so does my husband who has a similar temperament, and we argued the point with my brother-in-law very regularly. But then, my bil is a strange character.
cleokaya over 15 years ago

Dry you’ve got it. But I usually can’t give up - too stubborn, I guess. Wish I could.
cleokaya over 15 years ago
We grow most of our own berries, but even those that we don’t , we do not wash. We probably should, but we don’t. But, like I said, most of our berries are our own. We supplement our supply on blueberries by buying locally. This is the first year where our blueberries have been supplying a lot of fruit, but still not enough to get us through the winter.

Dry - You be gone a long time ago. LOL
DawnAvril over 15 years ago
Thanks - I don’t think I’ll wash them - they grow along the path we walk when going to town so aren’t polluted - just washed by the rain. Thanks Cleo!
cleokaya over 15 years ago
Dawn - Blackberries that grow along the side of a path are fine. If you are picking them on a dirt road with lots of traffic, you might want to rinse them, but we have plenty in areas only associated with foot traffic and we never even think of washing them.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
