i guess i am. hmm, what to bring out for breakfast. what? i forgot to go grocery shopping yesterday? oh spit!* sorry folks, looks like i’ll have to make a quick run to Tim’s for some bagels and cream cheese (garlic and herb, to be exact, on everything bagels or pumpernickel bagels or cheese and onion bagels). hopefully i can swing by the 24 hour grocery store before folks get too rumbly in their tumblies, and get some fixings for waffles with maple syrup, too. next time i’ll remember to shop first, then sign in here.

i guess that’s what happens when i spend a week being negative (the avatar, that is).

marg, just got back from Tim’s (and the puzzle tour). I couldn’t go there without picking up cinnamon raisin bagels. (i sometimes think they’re Canada’s favourite bagel, but i’ve never seen a poll. i’ve also never seen them out of stock.) and something made me pick up some chocolate donuts while i was there as well. besides, they’re my second favourite flavour - right after maple iced. sorry it took so long, and thanks for the assist to bigg, jfri, marg, and steelblade. Good Morning, everybody. I know, you’re shocked see me answering you folks on a weekday. That’s because I have an hour before I can leave this morning. Now to answer a question brought to me yesterday by DawnAvril, a first you weren’t going to hear from me anymore until 2010 when I took the job at the retail store over in Fayetteville, GA. But now the hours at my job have become like those buses Atlanta used have in the late eightys….flexible.

Now I can talk to youin the mornings (before work) and starting in September (instead of next year), I’ll be able to talk to you in afternoon.

The boss and I have agreed to take in a second shift, a female worker takes over for me from 2 to 5 pm EDT (1800-2100 UTC). Also I might pop in midday at work (during lunch). Have to go to work now. Catch you later everyone!

Tabby: while you are taking more general courses in college (those everyone must take), be sure to find a nearby USED book store. Can save you lots of bucks on those texts. Doesn’t work as well when you get deep into classes for your major, most people hang on to those, but for basic algebra, English, biology, etc. used are usually around.

Good advice, Saucy.

tabby - Saucy’s advice is good, but around here, the college bookstores sell used textbooks, which helps to make sure you are buying the right edition. They usually buy back textbooks during finals week, so as soon as you’ve enrolled for the next semester, go to the bookstore and look for what they have used, because if you wait until right before classes start, they usually don’t have any used textbooks left. If you know for sure what titles & which editions, you can buy them off of e-bay or places like that. But make sure you know your prices well before you bid, because with shipping added, you may not be saving anything.

Thanks, Carmy. The ankle is fine, but the same knee that I damaged in the bike fall is all scraped up again, and the heel of my hand took the brunt of the fall and lost a flap of skin. I’m icing both.

Hola Dry!

Marg, the girls are doing good. They went to bed early last night. That was a first, we’ve all been staying up way too late. Girlie #4 is doing well in her new school down the street. They just started having classes for autistic children this year. Hey, when we were walking home, I was holding her hand on and off. We were just a couple of houses down from ours when I took her hand again and a couple of steps later she tripped. I was able to keep her from falling. Yea!

Good afternoon all, Marg, falling is no fun. I took a spill yesterday at work, the floors are dusty, and my shoes are old, and have no tread. That combination gives me poor traction. I went to make a right turn, and my pivot (right) foot did not stop, and down I went. It didn’t do much damage, and looked like all the spills you see in the movies, so I bet it was pretty funny for anyone who saw it.

Marg—Congrats on the picture. I look at the size and then determine if it needs to be smaller. For ones without words, you can go as small as 100 X 75. Frot words at least 250 X 175. But those will vary depending on whether it’s a square pic or rectangle or ???.

hi tribe: just time for a quick drop in. i got cut off earlier this afternoon, just when i was about to read my last toon of the tour. Shika i took the bowl to be grits, and it’s a lot like cream of wheat if you ever do try it. Denny’s carries it as a breakfast side (which was where i tried it), but i don’t remember if the have them in MB. love the tripping mousie, Terry. if i knew how to do the “embed” thing, i have a penguin version on my work computer that i could share. and Marg stop making me hungry, please. it’s way past my dinner time, and too long until breakfast.

at least i got out for groceries, today. this means i’m prepared if i get breakfast duty again (at least if it’s soon).

I don’t remember trying grits before, but I do remember seeing Quaker Grits in Louisianna, and laughing at seeing such familiar packaging (looks just like Quaker Oatmeal for some strange reason, lol) but seeing “Grits” on the bag.

I loved visiting though.
