Good Morning you Yappy Nuts. Well we had a lot of fun in RL last night. A bunch of 20 somethings letting loose after a whole summer on a fishing boat. They took over our house last night, first making us dinner bbq salmon and fresh chantrelle mushrooms and fresh string beans. Lots of bluegrass, booze and hot tubbing. All but one spent the night, which is good and today we all pickle 32 pounds of cukes.

hi MoPar: I know about the mix. As a good DJ you’d have to provide for the whole audience. I got some old AC/DC and Beatles out of the links, just the thing to perk up a late Sunday morning. And BTO is usually well received around my neck of the woods. Randy Bachman is a legend!

i was a big fan of Triumph and of Rush. just missed having Triumph play a pub when i was in university. their first album broke big during the negotiations, and the price got too high. but i saw both bands in Maple Leaf Gardens back in mid eighties, and they’re staples on classic rock radio here. have you ever heard of bands like Max Webster, or Teenage Head, to name a couple. I’ve seen Max Webster several times (as well as Kim Mitchell solo gigs) though i never saw Teenage Head (punk band which might not be to tastes). A current (sorta) band that i like is The Headstones (Tweeter & the Monkey Man is great).

anyhow, it’s past 3pm here, and if i’m going to play any golf today i need to go now. adios muchachos.

Randy Bachman built a huge house just a few miles from where I live. He lived there a short while than sold it. It is now a bed and breakfast. Actually the Guess Who will be performing at an outdoor concert at a local casino.

careful cleokaya. last i heard randy and burton were performing as the bachman cummings band due to jim kale owning the rights to use the name “the guess who” and touring with a version that has himself as the only original member. it has been referred to - derogatorily - as “kale’s klones” and i’ve actually seen video of them on one of the you tube links provided on this thread. it didn’t sound bad but it also doesn’t sound like the guess who i know and love.

I’m just dropping by real quick to say hello to you all. You all were right. I had no right to try and force anyone here to comment to me if they didn’t want to. I was way out of line and let my anger get the best of me. I should have realized that if I would have been a little bit more patient, somebody would have at least said hi to me and asked how I was doing. I ended up hurting everyone here and lost their respect. So I don’t expect anyone here to forgive me. But to you all I just want to say that I’m sorry. Terry you may have been hurt the most. You value everyone here, and took it upon yourself to defend the tribe. Terry I can’t begin to even imagine how much pain you feel, And even though you hurt, I wish that I could take away your pain. You carry the Tribe with pride and I admire you for that. I hope that all will be forgiven in the future and we all can get back to being friends again.

Hi, ALL! The Az Hang Gliding Assoc. is having a huge Labor Day launch on the mountain near our house, so we went up there today to watch. There were parasails, and hang gliders all over the place. People are camping up there for the whole weekend, and everyone was so nice and eager to answer any questions. They have a concrete launch ramp that goes right up the edge of the mountain, and you stand there until the thermals are just right, you run, and launch yourself into space. It was amazing to watch. The parasails launch from a hillside. They lay out their chute, and wait until a thermal comes up the mountain. They jerk the strings, and if the sail fills with air, they start running towards the edge. Sometimes the sail deflated just as they neared the edge, and they had to stop dead, and have volunteers help them get the parasail laid out again at the top of the hill. One guy went so high after a successful launch that he was almost in a cloud. My husband took pictures, so I hope that we get some good ones.

I haven’t even gotten to play a round of golf this year. Mostly due to problems out of my control. I still hope to get out there this fall yet, weather permitting as my son wants me to teach him. Would be nice.

hi Marg: i agree with Terry, it sounds like a blast. part of me has always wanted to try hang gliding or skydiving. i like the idea of floating through space in that manner, but i also have a small problem. i don’t know why, but at times i can get dizzy and afraid of falling even when i’m just looking down between my feet from the edge of a curb. doesn’t usually bother me (i work on a cherry picker type machine and have no difficulty), but i can get freaked out by something like the opening to mission impossible 2 (where Tom Cruise is free climbing the rock face). it’s really strange to me.

I don’t like heights, I could never do skydiving or hang gliding. My hands are getting sweaty just thinking about it. I guess that would be a phobia then… How are ya Terry!

Marg - I thought most people had given up hang gliding for parasailing. It is so much safer. I had a model I used to photograph that went hang gliding one day. I saw her just before she took off. She ended up crashing. Got up feeling okay, then dropped dead a minute later. I have a friend who is a pilot for Air Canada. On his days off and vacations he parasails. There’s a guy who likes being in the air.

I don’t know about hanggliding but has anyone here ever tried parasailing. I’ve done that a few times and it is fun.

I am too aware of the recovery time after an injury to try parasailing.

Apple pie, root beer floats, and watermelon for everyone. The pie’s disappearing, but the watermelon and ice cream might take longer.

And I now feel like hibernating. I just ate enough to last a while, anyways.

ladywolf - If I was your dad I would not be allowing you to meet anyone who calls themselves a teacher, in the school parking lot. That to me would be extremely suspicious. In fact it is very, very suspicious.

Well since my dad doesn’t work tomorrow he will go with me.

No teacher would ask that of a student with the problems in society today. The school district would not allow that kind of a meeting!

My week since last weekend has been great- three days with my mom, home for one day, and four days with my best friend in Quebec. I could have stayed another week, except I wanted you guys to be there too!
