Terry - Actually I am a product of finding my body always running hot. I am comfortable in temps most people find chilly.

I’m pretty much the same Cleo. Drives wolfangil crazy, but she doesn’t complain when we snuggle or when we are sleeping.

I know where you are coming from. My hobby is in Lionel Trains. I collect Pre-war which is from the beginning(1901) until 1942 and Post-war 1943 until 1969. It includes all accessories, both stationary(static) and powered.

I know how and when to buy to save $$, but the amount of time involved is enormous.

Well, you do spend on paper & ink though?

I keep ledgers of all I spend on my hobby. That’s the only way to be sure what’s invested. For me it is just a hobby, but for my kids and girlfriend/wife/significant other, I want them to know what the value is before it gets “dumped” in the event of my unplanned exit from this world. lol

My wife and I have taken up buying art as a hobby, for both in our garden and house. We like bold colors and off the wall stuff. My most expensive piece is a Peter Max that I bought a little over a year ago. When I was a kid I collected Matchbox toys. Even then I was a bit anal. I still have them and they are in pristine condition, including the original boxes. And yes, I played with them all the time. I have always hated my stuff getting scratched or dinged. Like I said, anal.

Hi Terry! I had a bit of a rough evening last night. Today, I’m just tired. Lots to do, I’ll just do what I can. I’m not gonna sweat it.

Carmy, That’s exactly the way I feel today. It’s miserable outside, too. 41 degrees and drizzling. Yuck! What gets done will get done.

40 here, foggy, rain, The winter weather advisory says and I quote “Expect a total of* ONLY* 2 to 6 inches of snow to fall by Sat. morning!” * ONLY, ONLY 2-6 INCHES, THIS IS OCTOBER*, IN PA, NOT COLORADO!!! Oh, doc, you and your d a @ @ coffeE ARE IN SO MUCH TROUBLE, MISTER!!!

79 and cloudy here. Supposed to get into the 50’s on Sat and Sun nights. That will be enough for the fireplaces to get started up. We don’t have a fireplace and even if we did I would not put it on for 50 degree weather. The yokels will though.

Wouldn’t you love to know the secret ingredient in my home made kitty treats?

Oh and take that 57, high of 67 and put it, well never mind, you get my meaning! :-D

The coffee went very well this morning. Everyone enjoyed the food, we even made deviled eggs decorated with black olive spiders. Lots of cookies left, good thing there are freezers! Not everyone that hiked today came for coffee, if they had, there wouldn’t have been quite as much left over. You never know how many to expect, so you make a bunch of food and hope for the best. If anybody happens to be in the neighborhood, stop on by for a cookie or two. ;-D

I haven’t heard about the boy and balloon story, but I would tend to doubt if it has any truth. But I just don’t know–although there seems no resolution to it just yet.

bmonk it was all over the news, a helicopter news crew followed the balloon until it came down. I was working so I didn’t see it. It would be nice if it wasn’t true, but I tend to think it is. But like I said, maybe he just wandered off and they thought he was in the balloon.

I have several tabs open–switch back and forth. I was just thinking that one advantage of following mostly “slower” news media is that I can avoid some of the hype and celebrity…ummm, “trash.” And not find out about stories like this boy-in-the-balloon one, which is both good and bad.

Well you fine people, I need to start getting ready for League Pool. I really don’t feel up to going but they have two good skill level 6 players on their team and I’m the only 6 on our team. Maybe they’ll let me play one of the first matches and leave early. :-)

@♠Lonewolf♠, it can be hard to keep track of where to reply, especially when the page flips over and you only have one or two comments to go by.

Bmonk that is so true.

I cna never get 8 or 9 windows open on the internet, if I get too many, some of the others close down!

Actually, I use Firefox, which has tabs in the same window, so I only have one window open at the moment, with three tabs I can switch quickly between. It’s only a problem when either one of the tabs hangs up and won’t clear or let you go to another, or else when the stupid computer keeps separating my tabs into new windows, so I have to make them smaller and click-drag them to the original window. But it does make it faster to go between multiple sites, and to let some sites refresh or load while reading another.

i got a peace of glass in my foot walking barefooted. :( but i love being barefooted.

its going to get “cold” this weekend. :0( i like it cool. its hot now.

carmy I was washing dishes and a knife snuck in and cut my two pointer fingers one longer then the other and the other one that i think is infected is small one. i have put peroxide on it and i wanted to cry it has never burnt that bad before, but with all the germs at school and me forgetting a band aid today it is bound to get bad. :( ill be fine.

I slept on the couch last Day before Christmas Eve day to avoid getting sick, and I did not sleep well at all, and was planning to drive to NY to get my oldest home for Christmas the next morning in weather worse than this. Not very pleasant for me!

Hey all, I thought I could do 7straight hours of studying, but I can’t, now for reprieve number 3. I don’t know how it is possible, but they have a whole section dedicated to fish scales. WHO CARES?!? Then three chapters on Chordate skeletons: the skull, the axial, and the appendicular skeleton. And still zero hour looms, but when I’m done it’ll probably be four hours closer. Cripes!

I sleep with the A/C, ceiling fan, and box fan. He will close the A/C vent in the bedroom because he’s cold. I can’t sleep in a sauna.

On a way more serious note, maybe I could get a withdrawal from the Tribal Bank. not for me, but for my little sister. She is going to have a surgery tomorrow for her teeth. It’s supposed to be very straightforward, but she does have a bum ticker, and that makes everything just a little bit risky. Not that I need something else to worry about, but it should be over before I even leave tomorrow morning. I’ll keep you posted. Back to work.

beautiful country, yes, very remote, nice small town, they treat him like a regular guy and he’s just one of the neighbors, nice down to earth guy from what I’m told, involved in the community and a good neighbor.

And the locals probably respect his privacy.

Is he married to one of the locals? I’m just wondering how he got to that area.

JFri they do respect tht but really, he runs around like a regular guy, he fits in because people forget who he is and he doesn’t act like a star.

Carmy if I remember correctly, the Monkees were passing through here from Philly to somewhere else, he liked the area and decided to investigate it and ended up here. I don’t know who he is married to so can’t answer that one. Last I heard he also has a place in FLA. bur ironically, I think he spends his winters here!

With what I’ve discussed prior………………………..yes. And at this stage I am really tired of it. I try to be friendly and have fun and i don’t need moody and immature characters in a virtual world. This just isn’t worth it. If it takes giving up special friends for a select one or two, then unfortunately that’s what I need to do. You all had something special when I showed up and I don’t think that should change. Neither should I change my personality. Most people respect me for who I am but not all and I can respect that regardless. Why can’t they?

This decision will bother me for quite some time, I’m sure. But the stress of wondering if and when BS happens from some is too much. I’ve got health problems more important, I have been out of a regular job for 6 months, they are ready to foreclose on my 78 yr old mother’s home and I need this?! I don’t think so.

You can tell me I am over reacting or whatever. At my age I know what I see. I am a realist. I don’t fantasize!
