    Good Morning, Tribe

Hello, Johnny, Lonewolf, MisngNOLA, Akenta, LuvH8, Dry & Everyone else. I’m off to a late start this morning.

LuvH8, I saw the change late last night, but I didn’t want to lose any of my “grogginess” by posting to anyone’s comments. However I gotta say I LOVE it.

Dry, I’ve been trying to think of something relevant from “Kelly’s Heroes” to counter with and I think I remember the end where Maitlin comes into the bank and sees ”Up Yours, Baby” on the wall.

That movie has a great cast, great theme by the Mike Curb Congregation and oodles of memorable lines: Oddball?! He’s A freak!” It’s a mother beautiful bridge The fuel system leaks all over the place! This things heavier than Kelsey’s burgers! Have a bottle of booze, Baby. You’re Beautiful! And of course, there are many more, but I haven’t got all morning.

Hi Terry! - Thanks for asking. Yes, my day will get quite busy. This is the calm before the storm. I need to get breakfast and get my son started on his schoolwork, then head off to Mom’s house again. At least M-W of this week, I can give myself the calm first. The sale starts on Thursday, so I’ll have to wait until evening to relax on those days. Two of my brothers went back to OK where they live, so now I’ll just have to deal with the other 2 siblings. There’s always room for conflict, but since there is enough to do, I think I can give my sister (a/k/a General) areas where she can be doing and/or directing work - particularly with my remaining brother. Not that I won’t have a fair amount of work to do after this week, but this should be the worst.

Terry - Yep! I’m making plans to go spend a couple of days with my husband at his trailer. I’m sure it is overdue for my maid service, but other than that, it is a pretty relaxing time. Although, I wouldn’t be surprised if he finds some of his work to delegate to me, if I show up at his office. Oh, well. At least it would be a change in scenery, and tasks.

Cleo - Getting ready for the estate sale, besides a little school work. (I’m giving him the week off from Algebra, so that I can spend more time at my mom’s house.) I borrowed tables from her church, however, they didn’t have as many as I would have liked. I’m trying to figure out what to do for additional tables. I might try to borrow some from my church, but I don’t have my brothers in town now, to do the heavy lifting. I think we’ll just be putting some boards on sawhorses, etc., and see if that will be sufficient. There is so much stuff, we won’t probably be able to get it all displayed at once. Well, my calm time is over - see y’all later!

See, that’s what I’m afraid of. There’s already several local kids salivating over the prospect of a neighborhood pool. The city closed the public pool for liability reasons; there was a cryptosporidium outbreak here in North Texas a few years ago. I’m gonna have to draw up a release form…

Advice: Be Careful What You Say!

A couple of hunters were out in the woods when one of them fell to the ground clutching his chest. After struggling for a few seconds, he seemed to stop breathing.

The other guy quickly pulls out his cellphone and dials 911. He gasps to the operator, “My friend is dead! What should I do?”

In a soothing voice, the operator says, “Try to remain calm, sir. I can help you. First, we need to make sure he’s dead.”

Immediately the operator heard a shot.

The frantic hunter comes back on the line and says, “Okay, now what?”

@LuvH8, the same hunter (the survivor) was out on another expedition with a new partner when they had another accident: he shot his new partner. Well, knowing better this time, he didn’t waste any time by calling 911, but just brought him into the emergency room himself.

    “Is he gonna live, Doc?”

“Well, he might have had a chance–until you field dressed him…”

JFri thanks for the Bookers, it hits the spot as usual. LilG is a Nurse Delegator. She works with adult family homes as needed, going in to delegate tasks that need a nurse to do or to instruct the caregiver as to how to do a procedure. It pays well and is perfect for her with her disability. She does not need to walk great distances or be on her feet for long periods of time. It is a new field in this state and she got in on the ground floor, so to speak.

    Hi Tribe!

Listen, about the first poster has to serve breakfast rule. I am unable to comply.

I do not know how to serve such a wonderful large group of people. I never wanted to be the first poster today, but went ahead and made my post so that I could go to bed.

I am not a breakfast person. I don’t eat my first meal until lunch time.

Marg! Rule ten does not apply to me. My comment does count unless Gocomics says otherwise.

The only rule that I know to follow here, is the one that Doc told me. which is no discussion of religion and politics. Which I do follow because I have a great deal of respect for him.

JFri, while on business in New York in the late 70’s, I went to a sports bar down there. I was in a 3-way conversation with Bob Berry who was then coach of the L.A. Kings and a coach from the NBA who I can’t recall. Berry would later go on to coach the Canadiens.

It was quite common to go to Montreal sports bars and see stars of the Canadiens before and after games. Larry Robisnon, Gob Gainey and Guy Carbonneau quickly come to mind. You could even see some of the Expo players there on occasion, Particularly Andre Dawson.

Big ouch, Johnny! Are you all okay now? When I was expecting daughter #2, a root canal that I had done months earlier became infected. Since I was preggers they really couldn’t give me anything, except some to fight the infection. My left cheek was so swollen. Once the swelling went down the dentist (he wasn’t the same one that did the botched root canal) gave me the option on whether to redo the root canal or pull it. I said, pull it!

As for music, I have two rules, and they are related: 1) I don’t like almost anything that has come out during my lifetime. (The list of exceptions is growing though.) And as a result, 2) My favorite bands have at least one founding member who has died. Morbid yes, but it works for me.

LW18, I have that one, too. I have a number of them that I haven’t even mentioned. I am planning on getting the original Man who knew too Much, which starred Peter Lorre. Of course, the later version with Stewart & Day was color and had more star power. But after seeing the original, I preferred the unpolished B&W version. It also wasn’t as long-winded as the re-make.

Shika should really consider patenting her “Shika Move.”

Carmy, I hope not. I’ve pulled it a couple of times, myself. But I often hit the refresh button after I’ve posted and find that I missed a post before mine I must respond to.

It’s not a act that is unique to Shika. I’m sure we all have done it. Come on, admit it to yourself…and then admit it to us.

I can’t believe the St. Patrick’s Day collection doesn’t include any “Red & Rover”. I’ve got 4 strips in my own collection from that one.

Grog, of course I’ve come back and added something after the fact. It’s like a Columbo thing. I meant that since some of say we’re making a “Shika Move”, that she should cash in on that. You do know that I’m only joking, right?

Of course, I do Carmy However, I’m sure Shika didn’t invent the move. People have been pulling Shika’s since long before Peter Faulk was born! :^))
