Yes, Lonewolf. I gotta say there’s some improvement, but there’s still strips I’m missing. I’ve even lost one that I saw last night. At least my e-mail has most of them, but there are still blanks there.

JAD was right. I’m still getting WTP and Dinette Set in my e-mail. ???

Grog, I don’t have any sent to my email. My email is busy enough without the comics being sent. I have a home page set up here with all my faves on it, so that’s good for me. Do you get the actual strips with WTP & The Dinette Set?

Lonewolf, for me sometimes, e-mail is a good back up system. Admittedly though, yesterday I deleted it without reading, but not today.

The e-mail comes through pretty much the same as it does on the web page, with a button on the bar below to add a comment. So WTP & TDS look the same as the others.

Middle of my vacation week. Sniffle wish it was longer.

Still sorting stuff, got another load for Goodwill and another load for trash. Still have stuff to go through in my room, but that’s for later.

Hmmm, many comics were missing…..there is something fishy afoot.

I actually went back & read everything from 1950 to about the mid ‘80 last year. It’s amazing how that strip evolved over time. One of the constants though is that Snoopy loves to dance.

Did you know that if you eat a food high in fat content before you start drinking, it takes longer to get inebriated? But then it all hits at once and there you are sitting on the floor, wondering how everyone got so tall.

A note to all grits cooks and consumers- when dropped on a shag carpet and NOT immediately cleaned, grits tend to coagulate. On a smooth surface, it’s not too bad…a putty knife and some elbow grease will suffice. However, on the avocado shag rug in the breakfast room, grits tend to form lumps that gather cat hair and toenails.

Please care for your grits! Escaped grits must be tended to immediately. They can, and if left unattended, WILL form rebel colonies, and extreme measures are required to subdue them.

    Thanks, from your Janitorial Staff.

I once hired gremlins to empty my cats’ litter boxes. They emptied the boxes okay, but left the turds…loophole in the contract, they said. They were hired to empty the boxes, but not the contents. I pitched a bleeep, and they immediately went on strike. Little bastards trooped around the bed all night, carrying tiny torches and signs in a language I couldn’t read.

I ended up stomping most of them. I think I’m on a hit list now, but so far all I’ve experienced is a butt sore that I cannot otherwise account for.

Short story….hire gremlins at your own risk.

I just finished my movie. Last night I saw High Sierra which brings me to a question.

Does anybody know if L.os Angeles natives still refer to their city as “Loss Angle ease?” Many of the older films seem to use that pronounciation. I seem to recall seeing that explanation in The Bride Came C.O.D.

By all means, go for it. It’s a “walking town,” one that can be seen and experienced on foot. The various neighborhoods provide wonderfully varied meals, and the history pokes you in the eye at every corner. Aside from New Orleans, I’d say it’s the best bet in the US for a cheap visit. Assuming you get a cheap hotel.

“Anchor Steam” is a type of beer only produced in San Francisco, so far as I know. “Anchor” is the company name, and “Steam” is the type of beer.

The “Anchor Brewery” produces many types of beer, but the “Steam” is its signature type. It’s a hoppy, sweet thing, which, if it were a woman, would be argumentative, but worth the effort.

Never got a chance to finish my toons today, and still have to check out Daily Ink. If it gets late, “I’ll see ya’ when I see ya!”” Maybe at turnover!

    Dry-

I apologize for making fun of JAD. I’ve never had a problem with Joe…I’ve always taken into account the fact that he was an old guy in a retirement community, that he had a head injury, et al, etc.

Thank you for your restraint. I will do better in the future.

Hy & Dry, as very recently pointed out, our definitions of trolls may differ, but I consider him a troll. He intentionally posts what he does in the hopes of getting the response he usually does. In my opinion, he is at his best when he keeps it short & sweet. He can be funny. I know, because I’ve seen it. I would prefer to see more of that side of him.

I remember his first posts. They seemed to me to be excersizes in cognitive therapy. I took them as such, and did not post.

He was “Obvious Man”, and I did not post.

He is learning, I think, how to interact with others.

It occurs to me that I live nearby, and that I might go see him and report.

Finally, I suppose I should say that I’m on Joe’s side until further notice.

Joe does not flame, nor use uneccesary sarcasm, nor speak ill of anyone.

Well in addition to the usual things that grate on me, I have seen him use words like idiot and stupid to fellow posters. It’s true that he is not the only one who has done so, but it doesn’t matter who utters those words; I find it unacceptable, whether the recipient deserves it or not.

On that sour note, I will call it a night.

Well, I am plumb full of corned beef , cabbage, potatoes and soda bread. This is the first time I have made the bread and it came out really well, it sure was a wet dough though.

    Hi Johnny–How are you doing?

Today was tiring and busier than my body wanted, but I am happy with what I was able to accomplish work wise. Pretty good day as a matter of fact.

    How about you, sir?

Howdy johnnyd. Out here on the west coast it is still relatively early.

Terry, I fertilized our raspberries and messed around with our compost trying to help it out, I went on close to a 2 hour hike. It was a beautiful day and then had dinner with close friends and now am here with you all, so it has been a very nice day.

I know Cleo, but it is still evening. Hi Terry! I had an unpleasant night at work, so I have indulged in a drink or two. Which means I am doing great right now.

johnnyd, I am sitting here with my snifter of brandy and awaiting turnover so that I can check out the toons. Sorry work was unpleasant.

Sorry to hear that, Johnny. Just keep moving in a forward direction. I try very hard not to look back and most of the time I succeed in being happy with what is in front of me for the future.

Glad you had a great day, Cleo.

Cleo and **Terry, it happens, I expected a rough day for St. Paddy’s, and it didn’t disappoint… I’ll get by. Cleo, booker’s wasn’t strong enough for a day like today. :-D
