Grog. Busy, busy day today. I wanted to get my ‘70 Mark III ready for the summer and I took Wolfangil to an antique town about 95 miles away. A few more things I indulged in. I finally ran out of daylight. LOL
Well, last posting was 2 hours ago, suspect no one is home. ‘Tis just as well, I need to get back to bed (virus scan completed, computer was still on).
But first, what a beautiful breakfast spread. Thanks Ladywolf
Pancakes with syrup, about 5 pounds of bacon (I love bacon) and orange juice.
Once I have wolfed this down (tongue in cheek) I go back to bed. Everyone have a great day!
But when you come back, CocoMocha will be added to Ladywolf’s menu, and if that doesn’t wake you up, nothing will.
(Doctor Toon’s Nuclear Coffee, on the other hand, might wake you up, but then it might just turn you into a mutant with superhuman powers…not always the best thing to be when you’re coming into work on Monday morning.)
LADY. A wonderful breakfast to start the week. WOODEYE I always felt like a low life drinking beer for breakfast, then I discovered Sunday morning Bloody Marys, a high class drunk in the morning.I used to ride to a high class town to enjoy my “breakfast” Then I laid down my bike coming home, I quit motorcycles but not drinking at that point in life.
Then I discovered DOC TOON’s nuc coffee. Now, instead of my hands shaking uncontrollably cause of last night overindulgence, they shook uncontrollably cause of today’s caffeine OD.I hear there are 12 step programs but I’m scared I might spill my coffee on the stairs
Morning TRIBE! I jumped out of bed and cried, “OBoy, I wonder what’s happening at work today?” Then I skipped down the road with a smile on my lips and a song in my heart to see my loving co-workers and understanding supervisors who recognize, acknowledge and reward my every effort.
Good Morning Doc. It is a great “catchphrase” and I like using it. I swiped it from you and hope you don’t mind. I use it in RL, too. It states exactly what I feel! Thank you.
Thinking tires me out, too, Lonewolf. It’s probably why I might not post on strips that make me think too much. Thinking to much can give me a headache, too.
Good Morning Grog!
I saw you were all alone on page 2, so I thought I should pop in here real quick. I’m doing stuff here in the casa. I’ll be popping in and out here.
Hi you all. Nice to see you here when I am here Shika. I just got back from a bike ride JFri and I was expected to get rained on, instead the sun started to come out, which is always good. I may have to go to town, but will maybe let my wife go on her own instead.
Grog, I hear you, but I was thinking maybe someone else would pay me.
Hi Shika!
That poor cat, how does it even walk around?
JFri, thanks for the gold bar!
Just popped in nosing around for bacon scraps. (sniff, sniff, poke, scrabble) Ah, there’s half a slice. Just enough to keep me going through choir practice. We’re doing the Hallelujah Chorus from The Messiah. We have a cd with just the orchastral music, we sing to that and it sounds like we’ve got a philharmonic in the church. And it frees up our musicians (flutes, voilins, oboes, clarinets and guitars) to sing with us. Considering we are a small choir that’s really great (our regular Sunday choir, the ‘chancel choir’ is 7 people strong, all female. We have soprano, alto and malto (really low alto).
Got to run. Ya’ll take care. As is often said around here, Peace and Love
“…I fear no man, but women scare the crud out of me!”
Hey, I was just on a three day “little course” in Christianity with about 80 women–24 new candidates, plus the rest coming back as leaders, backup, cooks, etc. Only guy among the girls…and we did fine. My ears may take a couple of days to recover–oh, and my voice (got a touch of bronchitis, I believe), but other than that I’m fine!
Still, it is kinda odd to be the only man in a room full of 50 or 100 women–and the only one wearing skirts…
@bunnyface 80 women? No wonder your ears hurt! Some men call that cackling! LOL! I work with 10 people, male and female, but 2 of the women, LOVELY ladies would do anything for you, but they are masters at “talk, talk, talk” until your ears ring! After a while, a glazed look comes over your eyes and one just nods and smiles!
Dry, I am making dinner tonight and since you like hot you would love this (I think). It is called Dak_Galbi, or Korean spicy chicken. I am marinating the boneless, cut up chicken thighs in a ton of cayenne, Korean hot pepper paste, garlic, grated ginger and some corn syrup, sugar, sesame oil, mirin and pepper. It should be very hot.
Oh Lordy, Cleo even reading your description of the chicken makes my tonsils cringe and my sinus’s unblock. The ‘backdoor’ even shuddered in thinking of the byproduct 1-2 days later.
You know, there’s something odd, though. I don’t have tonsils…what the heck is cringing in my throat????
Hello Tribe! I just want to thank you all for the kind words about my breakfast preparation for you all. I’m still getting used to things here since I came back. You are all great company and I’m proud to have you as my friends.
Grog, I’m trying to watch the movies, but I am printing directions for Wolfangil and her mother. They are going to Lancaster, PA for a quilt show and to visit some Longwood Botanical Garden place. I’m sure I have the movie somewhere but not sure where.
Dry, I’ve found a site that sells the complete set with original music and uncut. I’m considering getting it, but with the knowledge that it won’t be with the best quality. But then again, a lot of good movies have terrible transfers to DVD. I’m thinking it may be worth it. I may try to acquire it before the end of the month.
Grog YOu talkin’ about “KRP? If nothing else, I would love the one uncut, with Little Arthur and the Patton music. Can you buy one season or do you have to buy the whole series?
Grog, I’ve got it on the tube, but I’m trying to get Wolfangil all set for their trip. They leave tomorrow. I am missing more of the movie than I’m watching.
Well my Korean spicy chicken had my wife coughing before she even sat down at the table, from the pepper. She took a few bites, altered it with tofu and no sauce and proclaimed it still to hot. She has been coughing on and on for 45 minutes. Oh well, it spiced up our relationship. LOL
Well, I missed you again Shika. If you want the chicken, there is some left. the question is, can you stand the heat. If not, get out of the kitchen. :-)
Grog I wonder if unedited means the “Original” songs they played? That’s a decent price, I bookmarked it, If it has the ORIGINAL sound track I think I’ll get it! Thanks for the link!
Dry, I will let you know. I just ordered it. I know you already purchased the first season, but it would be better it you could get it all intact, don’t you think?
That show does not show up much in syndication, but when it does, it’s all cut to ribbons with music that I never heard of.
To see Les in right field again and Jennifer wearing those short shorts. Then there was the wrastlin’ preacher and Bobby Boogy among other gems.
I have 8 shows on tape including the pilot episode, but believe me it’s not enough.
Grog OH yes I know! And even Blockbuster is down to the first season, and Netflix (I googled them) doesn’t have it at all). I would LOVE the original music, but I doubt you’ll get that. I should get the set, you’re right, because it is getting scarcer and scarcer to find. Just check the one with Little Arthur, let me know what the music is! Don’t wait too long to tell me, though, ok?
We have several recorded on VHS, but you can just imagine the shape they are in, I have so many things recorded on VHS, I should just pitch the lot, but I keep saying, I’m going to check those tapes and see if they are still any good! Yeah, right, and h e l l is going to freeze over, I guar un tee! LOL!
I won’t, Dry. The one I want to see is the one where Les has a date with Jennifer to the “Pig Ball”. While Les is putting on his rug, Hot Blooded is supposed to be playing. I will expect no less.
I called these people some time ago, and they assured me it was all the original soundtract. As soon as I get it, I will play a few of my fav’s (and yours) and let you know.
The best part about having a TV/DVD player in my home “office” is that I can give you a play-by-play of what I’m seeing.
Lesee–humor, the ability to steal bells from the bell-ringer (I got more from her, with less violence, than anyone else), a nice, clear message–they sure acted like I done good.

Dry, I think you can only get the full series. It is “cable quality” and is currently on sale at this site. http://tinyurl.com/Fellow-Baby

Shika actually “Fellow Baby” is a line on the show, Dr. Johnny Fever (Hward Hesseman) , one of the DJ’s, it was his catch phrase!
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Dry, I modified the link. It wasn’t working.
Shikamoo Premium Member over 14 years ago
Shika here. I forgot that too! Howard Hesseman was a blast!
I think someone put a magnet here, and I have too much iron!
If you get that, you are as crazy as I am after all this reading.
Blah. Back to it then.

Well my Korean spicy chicken had my wife coughing before she even sat down at the table, from the pepper. She took a few bites, altered it with tofu and no sauce and proclaimed it still to hot. She has been coughing on and on for 45 minutes. Oh well, it spiced up our relationship. LOL
cleokaya over 14 years ago
Well, I missed you again Shika. If you want the chicken, there is some left. the question is, can you stand the heat. If not, get out of the kitchen. :-)

Dry, my wife usually claims the leftovers when she cooks. She definitely doesn’t want any part of these. LOL

Good Evening, Cleo.
Your dinner sounds great. I developed quite a taste for Korean food when I was in country.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
cleo, did you have any trouble downing the contents of your plate?
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Grog, I think I’m going to have to wait until “The Shootist” is on before I can watch without any interruptions.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
That’ll be past my bed time, Lonewolf, but then I saw it recently.
cleokaya over 14 years ago
Terry hello. Grog aside from a runny nose from the heat no. I love hot food.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
Grog I wonder if unedited means the “Original” songs they played? That’s a decent price, I bookmarked it, If it has the ORIGINAL sound track I think I’ll get it! Thanks for the link!

Movie time.

Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
Grog OH yes I know! And even Blockbuster is down to the first season, and Netflix (I googled them) doesn’t have it at all). I would LOVE the original music, but I doubt you’ll get that. I should get the set, you’re right, because it is getting scarcer and scarcer to find. Just check the one with Little Arthur, let me know what the music is! Don’t wait too long to tell me, though, ok?
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
Grog The ball game with Les, PRICELESS!

Take it easy, Doc. Have a good evening!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
Doc That was the BEST episode, andLittle Arthur and the theme music from Patton! “Good times, good times!”
Now Grog since Doc has left, you get to answer the million dollar question, Whose catch phrase was “Good times, good times”?

From WKRP or another show?
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
If it was WKRP, I’d have to say A.C, A.K.A. “Art”. “Thanks for the lid, Art”
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
PSSSTTT!!
Grog you lose! Phil Hartman, “Bill McNeil”, “News Radio”!
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Yeah, I never would have guessed that. I like News Radio and I have a couple of seasons, but I love WKRP.

bmonk over 14 years ago
Yes, I’m pretty easy going, and I just float up and down with the waves…
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Hello. Bunnyface(bmonk)
Catch you later, Grog
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
bunny glad you float, I would hate for you to sink! :-) Of course, one man and 80 women, I’ll bet they spoiled you rotten!
bmonk over 14 years ago
Yes, there was a bit of spoiling. But I will deny that any of their bribes got any group a better vote when I had to judge their posters!
“What happens at Cursillo, stays at Cursillo!”
Besides, they liked the way I summarized the doctrines, and such…

Lesee–humor, the ability to steal bells from the bell-ringer (I got more from her, with less violence, than anyone else), a nice, clear message–they sure acted like I done good.

Let’s say the ladies knew a variant of Bunnyface…

Sorry I missed you Grog.
I’m still reading here. I can’t turn my brain off. And no comments from the peanut gallery about “what brains?” okay?
I’m leaving before the turnover, because I already ate and cleaned up the kitchen.
Help yourself to leftovers if no one makes breakfast. There’s lots in the refrigerator.
Goom night. (Not a misprint!)

Bunnyface You create more of a mystery than you clear up, but I suppose that’s the intent!
What wooden hill?
Never mind.
Bye!
