I notice I write “cutesy” comments till I hit BT and get my first hit of DOC’S NUC COFFEE.Is it the bitterness of the brew or the supercharging of my normal disagreeable self? By the time I hit Doonesbury, I’ve gone beyond curmudgeon and into acidic.
WARNING! DOC’S NUC COFFEE may have side affects that include sarcasm, ridicule, and an inability to keep one’s big mouth shut. Other patients have experienced pleasure, euphoria, and a constant smile. Effects may vary.
(uh, that sounds like just another normal day for an ENFP on CocoMocha to ME…)
Kab Buch I want to thank you for your lovely comment that

How’s that new office coming?
Not good, Lonewolf. Now they can’t decide where to put me.
Hey everyone.
Sorry gotta go….got a mobile command post computer problem to fix….
Rained here let up alot
Hey Doc T, I poured some Nuclear coffee on my sunflowers, and let me just say that That drink works better than miracle grow. My sunflowers are higher than the roof of my house now.
Perhaps we can get Johanan to tell us more about the mysteries of his very good CocoMocha? Then we can experiment with it.
And then, the latest update, about 22 minutes ago:
Okay, let’s see we can try 3/4 CocoMocha and 1/4 Nuclear Coffee. (starts pouring CocoMocha into a cup)
No, no, what you want to do is prepare it fron scratch, substituting Nuclear Coffee weight for weight for Thundering Steppes Coffee, which is imported from the Realm of Norrath through the Portal of Twilight.
Because Thundering Steppes Coffee comes from a magical Realm (that of the MMRPG EverQuest II), any other mixture with Nuclear Coffee risks creating Higgs bosons, microsingularities, dark matter, dark energy, and/or severe local distortions in the laws of thermodynamics.
Technically called Starbright’s Divine CocoMocha, the drink is the favorite beverage of Chris Alan Starbright and was originally invented when that Realmwalker was visiting the Realm of Norrath. It grants no super powers of itself, but it awakens latent abilities in one’s cognitive processes. In particular, it brings the four normally unconscious processes in a human personality to full conscious awareness, enabling him or her to affect the local space-time continuum in sometimes astonishing ways.
Chris Alan, being who and what he is, doesn’t need the drink in order to be able to do that. But it’s fascinating to share, until the buzz wears off at any rate, his sense of everything being connected to him and vice versa.
And by the way…good morning, Doctor Toon and Everyone! I’m telling you, folks, beware of what you do with our two unpredictable products!
If any of you can get to the Large Hadron Collider over in Europe with that mixture, or even Fourmilab here, you may help subatomic physics make a major breakthrough…
Provided, of course, that you don’t drop it and cause a hole to be melted all the way to the earth’s core.
No, the Grand Canyon was formed by one of Evil-Eye Fleegle’s relatives, trying out one of his whammys (I forget what level) in an isolated area. (That’s from Lil’ Abner, long ago.)
The giant fell into the pit that was made, independently. Probably thought he could fly, after drinking CocoMocha. Now if he’d had Nuclear Coffee he might have actually done it…
Ladywolf your very welcome. I got the message also you like what I did on photobucket and I did add some more cute things. Included bears. You where very missed here and I wish to welcome you. I know this is too late. But I’m sending this to you anyway though you have left. You will also liven BT since your one of the elders here.
I did save this for you wished it was better. And it’s nice of your boss to let you relax and have fun for the week. I don’t get that chance where I work at pt.
And good late morning to everyone else. I went to bed fairly early was not sure I would sleep but did. I will have to get around myself. I just wanted to join in and welcome Ladywolf to. see all later.
As nice as that may seem, I’m getting closer to telling them to take this job and shoving it. I’m tired of fixing other peoples mistakes and taking care of their problems and work load.
Sorry, but this place is really starting to get on my nerves. I’ve got nothing against being busy. The problem is I’ve got enough of my own to do. And if I don’t get my vacation next month, I’ll be real angry.
Good (?) Afternoon, tribe!Grog - Reminds me of a situation I had at a job for a while. Either I got in trouble for not getting my work done, or I got in trouble for not helping a co-worker with hers when she asked me. Our supervisor got fired a few months after I had been formally warned. All my other job reviews were fairly good after he left. I found out years later that he and my co-worker were having an affair. Explained a lot!
Hi, Terry!
I’ll be on the scarce side for the next several days. More algebra today, then packing for our overnight trip to Houston. Two days of driving, and then I may end up helping my hubby at his office on Saturday.
We’re supposed to have “isolated” t-storms later this afternoon & the next couple of days. What I looked up last night though, made it look like Wolfie might have worse weather than us today.
Rmom & Grog, it rained hard this morning, but only for an hour or so. Sunny and 80° roght now, but severe thunderstorms for late afternoon and evening starting about 5ish. Seems like James and I are mowing every three days here!
Spent most of day untli now getting .NET Framework updates to update on my laptop. Have always had problems getting that to update. My cousin solves that by not having it on his computers and doesn’t use programes that use it. Just letting off steam.
Welcome Back Ladywolf!!!
Hope there wasn’t much damage by quake, we’ll have to check the news.
Grog - Sorry, Saltgrass. I used to be really good at proofreading, but noticed it has really changed about the same time I started getting all these headaches.
I can’t recall Canada ever having an earthquake before. Is it my poor memory or is that so?
Hello ♠Lonewolf♠ and Rmom - If .NET Framework is not on your computer (or not update enough?) for a programe that needs it will show you a message that you don’t have it and the programe won’t run (.NET is a programe that other programs use so they don’t have to write a lot of programe code to do things). If you don’t need a programe that uses it then you don’t need it. i don’t know what programes rely on it or even if I have any thing that needs it.
Rmom, if we are talking about the same Saltgrass, there is one on I10 East, East of the 610 loop.
It doesn’t look terribly far from where I work if that’s the one you are referring to.
I have been in earthquakes while living in Montreal. The last one I remember was in 1998. It was a 4.0, but I didn’t feel it. It was on a Friday and I was walking from work to my favorite bar. But yes I have felt earthquakes before there.
In order to get it updated this time I had to update to the latest windows installer. (Since I have all updates automatic why wasn’t that updated?) As I have always had trouble getting .NET Framework to update it just one of those things that upsets me. I guess that gives me something to work on! It also make me wish I knew more about computers.
I should elaborte, Rmom. That one was east of I45. There’s another one west of I45, but the east of the 610 West loop, on what they refer to as the Katy Freeway here (I10 West). I think this is the one you are referring to.
Grog - This one is between the Sam Houston tollway and West Loop.
Wolfie - Thanks. At least they haven’t been so severe each day to take meds. Right now I’m feeling a little woozy though, which is a new symptom. I’m glad my hubby will probably do all or most of the driving!
You know more about computers. My .NET framework update failed a couple times today, so I just cancelled. It did the rest. Any problems with ignoring it?
Thanks, Terry! I could always ask my resident geek, but since he doesn’t have Vista, I wasn’t so sure he’d know the answer to this one.
Grog - Glad you found the one I meant. I see there are several locations to choose from, but this one is pretty close to where we’re getting the truck.
LuvH8 - What do you mean it was my idea? And how dare you accuse Bmonk? Sheesh, if you can’t trust a monk, who can you trust? I just said my in-laws were in FL, I didn’t tell you to fire that thing at them!
(In Sargent Shultz voice) - I know nut -ting!
I’m back! I took my little cousins to go see Toy Story 3 and had a good time. What’s this about a court. I tell you Big Sister is innocent. It was those horrible little aliens that appeared at Birdbrains.
It seems that LuvH8 wanted to launch a rocket with Doc’s Nuclear Coffee as a payload, The idea was to see how it would affect the weather. At Rmom’s and my request we convinced her not to shoot it at Kansas. I’ll admit that instead of a rocket I sugested and made a super large potato gun. I told LuvH8 how to load it and to tell me when to fire it when she had it aimed. At that point I was only following her orders. She aimed it at Florida and told me to fire it! We were only trying to change the weather. It seems something more happened and LuvH8 will not admit to being the obvious ringleader!
Live and learn–here I thought the Grand Canyon was created after Paul Bunyan, after logging all the trees in the Painted Forest (now the Painted Desert), walked back to the northeast, dragging his axe in the heat…
So then what happened in Florida was an accident caused by a minor miscalculation. This is why we are supposed to check our instruments before using them. Them Gators in Florida will be missed.
Johanan Rakkav said, about 17 personality types ago
For a somewhat-too-popular (IMO) treatment of just what in the Metacosmic Realms an ENFP is (and I’m one of that ilk, as I’ve mentioned, “at the core”):
http://typelogic.com/enfp.html
I resonated with a few bits of that description, such as the “silly switch”, or the paragraph:
ENFPs are global learners. Close enough is satisfactory to the ENFP, which may unnerve more precise thinking types, especially with such things as piano practice…. Amazingly, some ENFPs are adept at exacting disciplines such as mathematics.
That last line, especially, is explained by another characterization: NFs in general can remember (or get exact) about things that are relevant when they happen.
But I’m actually the introvert neighbor, INFP: http://typelogic.com/infp.html…
Dust off Old Sparky! Off with her head! At my command, commence firing. To be hung until dead! Walk the plank , Matey ( wrong strip) Crucify Her! Force her to consume a gallon of *DOC’S FINEST, yesterdays dregs.
I would like to say how much I will miss the dear lady. My only regret is that she didn’t aim that thing at California..
♠Lonewolf♠ - I could say better there than here but I don’t wish anyone to have bad weather. Hopefully there won’t be any tornados, it’s a good thing at least the tree limbs are cut back from your skylight with the wind you have.
Sojo, Wolfangil and I were just talking about how lucky it is that I cut those branches the other day.
I am more concerned about the flash flood warnings than the tornado watch. Ever since my sump pump quit the one time, I worry when it rains so hard now.
Wolfie - I hear they have back up sump pumps now for if the power fails, etc. However, I’ve heard it said it only works for those with city water, so I guess we won’t be looking at one. I have to admit, having a backup that would keep working during a power failure might be worth the investment.
@Terry, we’ve had the rain coming down so quickly that many sump pumps have not been able to keep up–and floors end up with little puddles hither and yon.
Puddles that we must mop up.
At least they are not puppy puddles. (or is that “piddles”?)
My sump pump may not go off for 5 years and then may run almost non-stop for 5 months. It depends on if there has been a lot of rain for a long time. It probably raises the water table just enough to reach the basement level. When I put my well in I hit water at 12 feet. My old pump was starting to go out (25 years old) and got it replaced this spring just 1 week before it started going off!
Wolfie - The question is, will the lawn furniture be usable after it lands on your place?
I hear a little rumbling of thunder here, but according to the radar, nothing to get excited about.
Thanks Rmom for the pump link. bmonk (if I remember correctly) and I both left comments on what a sump pump was and upon seeing the other comment we both deleted. As usually his (the other person) left a better answer than mine. That’s way I didn’t repost it right away because my answer wasn’t as good!
Lewreader, since you are the one who called for the execution, you won’t mind helping Little Sister take care of Kitty. Right? He needs his milk and beer every night.
LUVH8 I would luv to care for KITTY ‘cept my white female is petrified of other animals (including strange humans) and my black monster would thin KITTY a new toy to be destroyed.. I guess I could buy a third litter box (large) and a new food bowl (also large). He wouldn’t try to usurp my black cats throne at the foot of my bed?
LUVH8 As I said both my felines grew up in the mean cages of the shelters Neil (my male, pre-named at the Humane Society)is not used to aking any guff, feline, canine, or human ( the plastic surgeon says he may be able to soften some of my scars). I don’t think he’s going to take any nonsense from an overgrown lap bleeep cat. He’s neat though, any bones he can’t crack in his might jaws he’ll leave by the front door like he did the mailman.Scissorhands has nothing on this cat. Send KITTY over, I only have 150 lbs of Iams left.Got a new camcorder for Christmas and this will give me an excuse to figure it out, long as I don’t have to read the instructions.
I didn’t have to help much with the oil - just fetch wrenches. However, after he had the new oil filter replaced, I got down so I could look at where everything is located on this car. Back when I was single, I changed my own oil on my cars during warm weather, and so I understand the basic process.
However, the VW battery is a little weak. It always needs jumped if it hasn’t been driven for a week or longer. With college out for the summer, it hasn’t been driven much. We’re planning on driving it to get the truck, so he had me help jump it. Unfortunately, when he rolled down the window to say he was taking it around the block, the window jumped off the track (I think). So now he’s working on that problem.
Terry - You would know! I feel for him, because he starts work at 6am, and he’s swamped, so he hasn’t had a moment to rest for the last 14 hours. At least he got lunch today (I think), since he had to go to the bank to get the check for the truck. Poor guy! Guess I’d better go check on the laundry, and start warming up stuff for supper.
♠Lonewolf♠. I have been in quakes that I never felt, as I think I stated this afternoon. I also remember once waking up to a quake, Identifying it as such and going back to sleep. That was back in the day I didn’t have sleep disorders.
Earthquakes are scary. I have felt three of them so far this year, and my poor little chihuahua puppy, Chica, was a nervous wreck for awhile. She is okay now, so that is good.
I think damge these days is restricted to older building that are not built to code or possibly roadways bridges etc.
One of my buddies commutes may have been affected by a rail stoppage to inspect the track after the quake. Apparently service is back, but I’m sure he didn’t get home as early as he normally would.
Wolfie - I’m sure my husband would have loved to have your help! He could only do so much with the window, as it needs a new part.
I’m glad the weather is clearing out for you. We had a severe t-storm just south of us - maybe 10 miles, but it is moving away from us.
Time to wrap up for the night, so we can get an early start in the morning.
Good night!
LADYWOLF - Not really, earthquake, fires, shootings, tsunamis, tornados, invading countries, astroides, etc. If not that car accidents, heart attacks, strokes, cancer, etc. and if you survive that then there’s old age! Anonymous - Do not take life too seriously; you will never get out of it alive.

Rakkav over 14 years ago

Rakkav over 14 years ago
No, the Grand Canyon was formed by one of Evil-Eye Fleegle’s relatives, trying out one of his whammys (I forget what level) in an isolated area. (That’s from Lil’ Abner, long ago.)
The giant fell into the pit that was made, independently. Probably thought he could fly, after drinking CocoMocha. Now if he’d had Nuclear Coffee he might have actually done it…
See you later, everyone!

Good (?) Afternoon, tribe! Grog - Reminds me of a situation I had at a job for a while.

Spent most of day untli now getting .NET Framework updates to update on my laptop. Have always had problems getting that to update. My cousin solves that by not having it on his computers and doesn’t use programes that use it. Just letting off steam.
Welcome Back Ladywolf!!!Hope there wasn’t much damage by quake, we’ll have to check the news.
Gee, somethings different in here!
Smiley Rmom over 14 years ago
Grog - Sorry, Saltgrass. I used to be really good at proofreading, but noticed it has really changed about the same time I started getting all these headaches. I can’t recall Canada ever having an earthquake before. Is it my poor memory or is that so?
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Hello, Sojo.
I’m actually on the same time as you today!
Smiley Rmom over 14 years ago
Hi, Sojo! I gave up trying to get that update done. What programs rely on it?
George Arnold over 14 years ago
Hello ♠Lonewolf♠ and Rmom - If .NET Framework is not on your computer (or not update enough?) for a programe that needs it will show you a message that you don’t have it and the programe won’t run (.NET is a programe that other programs use so they don’t have to write a lot of programe code to do things). If you don’t need a programe that uses it then you don’t need it. i don’t know what programes rely on it or even if I have any thing that needs it.
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
I hope those headaches are taken care of soon, (((((Rmom)))).

George Arnold over 14 years ago
In order to get it updated this time I had to update to the latest windows installer. (Since I have all updates automatic why wasn’t that updated?) As I have always had trouble getting .NET Framework to update it just one of those things that upsets me. I guess that gives me something to work on! It also make me wish I knew more about computers.
Everyone else have a great day!
Ooops! Premium Member over 14 years ago
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
I should elaborte, Rmom. That one was east of I45. There’s another one west of I45, but the east of the 610 West loop, on what they refer to as the Katy Freeway here (I10 West). I think this is the one you are referring to.

Puddles that we must mop up.
At least they are not puppy puddles. (or is that “piddles”?)
Ooops! Premium Member over 14 years ago
What is a sump pump?
George Arnold over 14 years ago
My sump pump may not go off for 5 years and then may run almost non-stop for 5 months. It depends on if there has been a lot of rain for a long time. It probably raises the water table just enough to reach the basement level. When I put my well in I hit water at 12 feet. My old pump was starting to go out (25 years old) and got it replaced this spring just 1 week before it started going off!

Ooops! Premium Member over 14 years ago
No Lewreader, he sleeps in the middle of the bed, or no one sleeps. He can be a little loud when he is unhappy.

He might eat your other cats though.

Fun, fun, fun, Rmom. :^)

Strange orange yellowish colors outside right now and the wind is non existent. Eerie to say the least.

We were supposed to have a strong chance of storms today, but I haven’t seen much, except for some storms passing north of Pasadena around lunch time.
The weather map looks pretty clear except for some spotty showers northwest & southeast of me……for the moment at least

Eerie! That sounds interesting ♠Lonewolf♠.

Hi,Grog.
I didn’t feel it. At least I don’t think I did.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
♠Lonewolf♠. I have been in quakes that I never felt, as I think I stated this afternoon. I also remember once waking up to a quake, Identifying it as such and going back to sleep. That was back in the day I didn’t have sleep disorders.
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
I do remember you saying that, Grog.
I just read that link and it is truly amazing what with all of the damage, that there were no injuries.
ladywolf17 over 14 years ago
Earthquakes are scary. I have felt three of them so far this year, and my poor little chihuahua puppy, Chica, was a nervous wreck for awhile. She is okay now, so that is good.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Fortunately. With all the panic, I’m surprised there weren’t any panic-related injuries.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
I think damge these days is restricted to older building that are not built to code or possibly roadways bridges etc.
One of my buddies commutes may have been affected by a rail stoppage to inspect the track after the quake. Apparently service is back, but I’m sure he didn’t get home as early as he normally would.

It’s bizarre how both of his kids end up in earthquake zones, trading one possible destructive force for another.

Good night!
