LuvChaos - There is Monday Night Football tonight but it’s on ESPN which I can’t get so I like some won’t see it. (Wat was one of the highest rated shows on TV for years and was on top? What did ABC executives decide to do to help their company? That’s right! They dropped Monday Night Football!)
LuvChaos - I don’t keep up on foo ball and can’t watch Monday’s game so as is often the cae I don’t know about tonight’s game. I’m sure ♠Lonewolf♠, Grog or most anyone else would know!
I think I should start cheering for the Yankees. It seems like that could be fun. What other Foo Ball teams should I choose? I am thinking maybe I could make the rounds and choose whichever team is playing opposite a team someone is rooting for.
LuvChaos - LOL - The Yankees are a baseball team, That’s the trouble with all the overlap in sports now (or you just said that to confuze the issue). Hopeandjoy2 and myself are for the Kansas City Chiefs (at least as long as they are winning). I don’t think anyone else is for them. They had been doing bad for a while and were supposed to continue that way this year. So far they are winning 4-0, may be the only team without a loss yet?
Football Season means break out the popcorn Monday night and turn the Blu-Ray to Netflix Instant. I never forgot what those big mean football players did to this skinny little college curriculum high school nerd.
Aaaah! Poor Sir Lew, they were just jealous because you could read and they couldn’t. It is tough being a ……. hey, did you really go to an Ivy League school?

They have books and DVDs and music. I am just about to start the third season of The Addams Family.
Sojo what kind of team are the Kansas City Chiefs?
Oh! I can watch Cartoon Network on Fiend now. I am considering getting one of those new TVs that get digital stuff like high definition and a cable that conneccts Fiend to the TV. My new TV is something like 8 years old. Geesh! It still works fine so does the 13 year old….. but no they have to keep upgrading everything.
Does anyone know if the high definition TVs and or BlueRay players have the option of regular real world defination so I don’t have to be at least twenty feet from the screen?
LuvH8 Glad you love your library! Just popping in for a moment….
You asked SOJO what kind of team the Chiefs are….that is my team and we are still trying to figure it out….right now they are doing well at 3-0….the qb is questionable but they do have some good players….young.
The Chiefs are a football team that hasn’t done well for some time. A few years ago they got the quarterback Joe Montana to help them which he did. He was reaching retirment and soon quit. Since then they have lost most games. Others though could do a better job of explaing them, as I said, I don’t really keep up on football. :-)
I know little about TVs. I started to learn about them to replace mine. Now 3D is becoming the new thing. Anything to make what you have become obsolete!
I find another minute, SOjourner and I know what you mean about the “”new fangled”“….we do have a 32” LCD, (I think it is called) but not the HD clarity our son has. He is constantly after us to update!! It is good enough for us.
Since I am a Duke Blue Devil basketball fan, I have to have espn channels to watch them and it is still a hassle with the networks after our $$. Most people who are not Dukies don’t like them but they are good kids for the most part, with a wonderful coach and staff.
Hope everyone has fun this evening..the Patriots and Dolphins are playing tonight. I will record CASTLE. Take care LuvChaos and KAB and Little Sister and all the rest.
I do not want 3D! Do you think it will become the only way to watch TV? I saw one in the store. You have to use special eye things.
Yuck Phooey!!!
Is it not bad enough that high definition on BlueRay makes my eyes go oooogly oooogle! It just isn’t right to be looking at pictures that are sharper than reality.
I don’t want 3D either, LuvChaos. We can watch BlueRay on our regular dvd player, but if you buy a BlueRay player then you can’t watch your old dvd’s…or at least that is what I was told.

Yes! New Fangled is Yucky! I want to be able to link my Fiend to a TV though. I don’t think it is supposed to be able to link to my computer, just my TV. I should see if I can do my computer though. Then I won’t have to get new fangled TV stuff!!!!
Sojo, I thought you were watching the games on Sunday? What kind of movies do you watch?
Lewreader If football violence in the NFL especially continues to escalate, I may not be able to watch. I am thankful more attention is given now to concussions but players still get them.
Yes I was watching football Sunday LuvChaos. They were over the air regular broadcast. Movies I am interested in may be more like what Grog prefers. I don’t know if Netflex will have enough of what I like but will try the free month soon to see what they have and if it would be worth getting, at only $9 a month I could afford it. Too many new movies substitute special effects for good writting, acting, directing, etc. Watching impossible things I don’t care for like the scene of a helicopter flying over a train while going through a tunnel (whatever show that was, I don’t know that I saw all of it but it had a high rating).
A lot of football chatter, I’m too unknowledgeable to comment.
So…….HOMEMADE BUTTERSCOTCH PUDDING AVAILABLE NOW AT THE BIG TOP BUFFET LINE….
I did make homemade butterscotch pudding (milk, brown sugar, eggs, cornstarch and a smidge of salt). It isn’t the thickest in the world but it does taste good.
Sojo most of those movies are probably available through your library (with a much shorter waiting list than new releases). You can order them online and go pick them up when they are waiting for you. I do that for myself and Gma and Monkey 2. Plus you can probably find some online.
hi Quaby (thanks for the pudding) LuvChaos, Lonewolf, be-monk, Sojo, DocT, & hopeandjoy.
i agree LuvChaos, you don’t need to know anything about foo ball to comment on it. judging by some of the comments on some of the strips (most of which i no longer read), you don’t need to know anything about ANYTHING in order to comment. as for concussions being treated more seriously, it’s about time. no, scratch that. it’s way PAST time that they were treated as the serious injuries they are. i’ve had a few well spaced and mild ones and don’t think i’ve been negatively affected, but one never knows for certain.
Hello all taking a slight break from Jr. College. It’s hard to pace myself so afraid, nervous, and scared of running out of time. I have only 120 minutes for 20 question to try to find in book. I have already failed them. I do print up the answers for next time.
While all of you where talking about football, I am currently enjoying
DANCING WITHE THE STARS YAAAAAA
Plus I vote knowing it doesn’t count, I have predited who will be leaving on Tuesday. I will be working on text work inbetween commericals.
I don’t do Netflix. They’re not the kind of movies I like. I have my own library, which I like to watch during basketball season and most of the baseball season. Of course, Lewreader would probably want me to trade in my NFL Sunday Ticket for MLB Extra innings so that I can follow the Sox. For the few games I would be interested in (Red Sox/Yankees) that just ain’t happening.
Sojourner, ESPN is part of the ABC family, but it is true that there are people out there who may not get it, thought it is part of my package as well as the NFL Network. Locally if the Texans play on Monday or Thursday night, the game will be on local television, but it’s probably one of the few games I’d prefer to miss.
The Chefs are only 3-0, they had a bye this week-end.
LuvChaos, you certainly like to cause it don’t you? If you’re going to cheer for the Yankees, I’m going to have to borrow Doctor Toon’s snow-a-pult. I may not have any snow, but I’m sure I can think of something to toss your way.
Forget the popcorn, I’m getting the Bugles, Jalapeno dip and beer. *It’s game time!
Helped the Admin Assist with past workers for invitations to be sent out for boss’s upcoming retirement. Had to help someone else coming some documents while running for the phone. Something this dept needed. Typical Monday and I work Columbus day. Some places take the day off. No mail and banking that day. Is Columbus something Canada celebrate.
Thanks Grog - I have dropped SkyAngel. The only TV I get is over the air. I’ll try the free Netflex test to see what they have. I looked at their sample shows they have on their web site and was not impressed. I will continue to see what’s free over the internet also. I don’t want to waste too much time watching the tube. I have a lot of music CDs and will probably spend my time listening to them. I have actually worn out a lot of CD players, some amplifiers and at least two good sets of speakers (not by playing too loud but too much).
for 8 years. This will end towards Thanksgiving and start back up in spring. The professionals are fantastic and stars try. If I tried it I would be first one booted off. They can position their body’s parts where I can’t. I am addicted to the show. Florence Henderson Is on it and she has been in audience for 8 years. Plus they introduce new shows coming. This is so better then losy football.
hi Kab. in answer to your earlier question about Columbus Day, we Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving Day on the same day as you Americans celebrate Columbus Day. this year, i’ll likely be celebrating our Thanksgiving by recovering from my trip to Princeton for my Nephew’s wedding. i’ll be leaving Wed. morning and returning Sunday night. as for Dancing with the D List, i’ve never missed it - i work a steady afternoon shift and can’t miss what i’ve never seen. (though almost anything would be better than a lousy football game. a good football game, though….)
Sojo & Grog i, too love watching movies on TCM. i will also watch them on TVOntario (our version of PBS) and on the rare occasions one i want to see is on PBS, there too. and i have my own collection on DVD & VHS of various things.
Thanks for answering the question yyyguy. I have a hard time keeping up. Have a safe travel to Nephew’s wedding. There been cousin’s have been married and I and my sis have never been invited.
Best thing about Dancing and I knew already no one here watches this fantastic show, the wardrobe corrodinator take care dresses and clothes no accidents. Past shows had accident’s which hamper the dancers. I’m not a football or sports inthustics at all.
When others here on BT talk about it I leave and do other things. Though I will admit one timeBBS made it fun just reading her bi-play.
yyyguy, I used to get TVO when I lived in Montreal for a while, until they switched up the cable line up
But I used to watch a lot of TVO or one of the PBS stations. (I believe Poland Springs, Maine.) We also got another PBS station out of Plattsburg, NY, I believe. They had a great British comedy lineup that included Red Dwarf & Keeping Up Appearances. They also broadcast reruns of the old Avengers series.
i remember having a similar conversation with you about these shows before, Grog (and won’t bore the rest of the Tribe with reminiscences). i watched Kiss Me Kate on TCM this afternoon.
I know some of you like sports, like Lonewolf loves pool. Some of you like movies or PBS shows, BBS loves mischief of course Little Sister is busy studing. What hobbies do some of you guys like. Saucy likes bead and jewlry work and Montana Lady loves star gazing.
i’m not putting down anyone’s favourite shows or hobbies (or anything else, for that matter). i’m a firm believer in “live and let live” and think most of the Tribe feels the same way. however, we also like to tease each other from time to time (gently, of course). as for hobbies, my main one these days is photography. i just bought a new camera body (digital) to go with the lenses i owned previously (slightly cheaper than buying a whole new outfit) and took a trip to Niagara Falls on Friday to learn how to use it before the wedding of the decade happens on Saturday. anyone who is interested can check my albums on PhotoBucket (and i know some of you are). latest pics won’t go up for a week or so, too much to do before i leave for New Jersey.
and speaking of things to do, laundry isn’t a hobby; but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t need doing. time to deal with reality again. see you all in the funnies, and remember: the NHL starts this week.
yyyguy those pictures should be good. I guess I just take it a lot of you get very enthuse about football. My self for Dancing.
I don’t have much time for now is pleasure reading.
What I talked about Sunday concerning Hawker Beechcraft city wants to talk with them. Don’t know how soon CEO will up-route aircraft Company to Louisiana. Will hurt Wichita a lot.
Since I actually like cooking, I might call it a hobby too, but no I wouldn’t call doing laundry or anything I don’t like doing a hobby. I love to cook, but I hate to do the dishes.
Well all I’m stopping this Dancing is over, I need to take a shower finish one text, tomorrow go to Dr. for sinus. Friday I was hurting badly. I hope to go to bed earlier if I can sleep.
Well, as mentioned previously I do beadwork, mostly in seed beads, making jewelry and artwork.
Been working on a new necklace while watching House and The Event. House is still good, even with him bleeep Cuddy every chance he gets. The Event is building slowly but surely. The actress who played Dr. Weaver on *ER* plays the chief alien. It’s hard to tell who are the good guys and who are the bad guys.
Gotta bug out. got some stuff to tidy up before bed time.
Good Night Kab?. If not then I’ll tell you that it depends on what I’m in the mood for, but I can do some Irish, German, Cajun the French Canadian Tourtierre (meat pie) and perhaps some more traditional fare, just kicked up a bit. I don’t like boring & bland foods. I try to make up for the times I go crazy with the not-so-good-for-you foods on week days. But week-ends and Holidays, I will knock myself out.
Grog - - The beef sandwiches were excellent. The snacks have been fill ins before and after the beefs. Our budding football player sure can pack it away. :^)
Hey! That would be way more interesting if we could all watch James play. I like sports a bunch more if I know one of the players. I think there is enough of a link since I know Lonewolf Let’s see James is 14, Birthday??, he is a high school fresh meat. He has his first girl friend, likes working on cars and watching sports with his dad. Yup! That is enough. Someone broadcast James’ games.

Good to see you Doctor Toon..

Good evening Tribesters!
Done for the day and waiting on MNF!!
Quabaculta about 14 years ago
A lot of football chatter, I’m too unknowledgeable to comment.
So…….HOMEMADE BUTTERSCOTCH PUDDING AVAILABLE NOW AT THE BIG TOP BUFFET LINE….
I did make homemade butterscotch pudding (milk, brown sugar, eggs, cornstarch and a smidge of salt). It isn’t the thickest in the world but it does taste good.
Enjoy

Did I miss much?
How long will it take for Dusty to recover?

Hi Quaby, Lonewolf & Be-Monk
Thank you Quaby the pudding is very good. You don’t have to actually know anything about Foo Ball to comment on it.
Ooops! Premium Member about 14 years ago
Sojo most of those movies are probably available through your library (with a much shorter waiting list than new releases). You can order them online and go pick them up when they are waiting for you. I do that for myself and Gma and Monkey 2. Plus you can probably find some online.
yyyguy about 14 years ago
hi Quaby (thanks for the pudding) LuvChaos, Lonewolf, be-monk, Sojo, DocT, & hopeandjoy. i agree LuvChaos, you don’t need to know anything about foo ball to comment on it. judging by some of the comments on some of the strips (most of which i no longer read), you don’t need to know anything about ANYTHING in order to comment. as for concussions being treated more seriously, it’s about time. no, scratch that. it’s way PAST time that they were treated as the serious injuries they are. i’ve had a few well spaced and mild ones and don’t think i’ve been negatively affected, but one never knows for certain.

Hi yyyguy.

DANCING WITHE THE STARS YAAAAAAPlus I vote knowing it doesn’t count, I have predited who will be leaving on Tuesday. I will be working on text work inbetween commericals.
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
Good evening, Tribeandall.
So much to catch up on and comment on.

Hi, Grog, LuvH8, Kab & Yguy!
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
I haven’t seen Dancing With the Stars yet and I don’t see any reason to break that streak.
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
Grog, tonight it is jalapeno, sharp cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese cubes and Ritz crackers for James and I.
The main course will be beef sandwiches!
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
♠Lonewolf♠ I already had my main course - biscetti.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
Hi Kab - Good to hear from you.
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
Sojourner, If your don’t get ESPN, you probably don’t get TCM either. Pity, because I think you’d love that station.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
Grog - I did enjoy it when I had it but right now over the air is all I get :-)
kab2rb about 14 years ago
I’ve been watching
DANCING WITH THE STARS####for 8 years.
Frankr about 14 years ago
Quaby: Thanks for the butterscotch pudding!
yyyguy about 14 years ago
hi Kab. in answer to your earlier question about Columbus Day, we Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving Day on the same day as you Americans celebrate Columbus Day. this year, i’ll likely be celebrating our Thanksgiving by recovering from my trip to Princeton for my Nephew’s wedding. i’ll be leaving Wed. morning and returning Sunday night. as for Dancing with the D List, i’ve never missed it - i work a steady afternoon shift and can’t miss what i’ve never seen. (though almost anything would be better than a lousy football game. a good football game, though….)
yyyguy about 14 years ago
Sojo & Grog i, too love watching movies on TCM. i will also watch them on TVOntario (our version of PBS) and on the rare occasions one i want to see is on PBS, there too. and i have my own collection on DVD & VHS of various things.
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
I didn’t realize I’ve been ignoring that show for that long, Kab. Not quite as long as I’ve been ignoring American Idol, but long enough.
kab2rb about 14 years ago
Thanks for answering the question yyyguy. I have a hard time keeping up. Have a safe travel to Nephew’s wedding. There been cousin’s have been married and I and my sis have never been invited. Best thing about Dancing and I knew already no one here watches this fantastic show, the wardrobe corrodinator take care dresses and clothes no accidents. Past shows had accident’s which hamper the dancers. I’m not a football or sports inthustics at all. When others here on BT talk about it I leave and do other things. Though I will admit one timeBBS made it fun just reading her bi-play.
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
yyyguy, I used to get TVO when I lived in Montreal for a while, until they switched up the cable line up
But I used to watch a lot of TVO or one of the PBS stations. (I believe Poland Springs, Maine.) We also got another PBS station out of Plattsburg, NY, I believe. They had a great British comedy lineup that included Red Dwarf & Keeping Up Appearances. They also broadcast reruns of the old Avengers series.
yyyguy about 14 years ago
i remember having a similar conversation with you about these shows before, Grog (and won’t bore the rest of the Tribe with reminiscences). i watched Kiss Me Kate on TCM this afternoon.
kab2rb about 14 years ago
I realize I have not been a part of BT for that long so I guess I should apologize about D word I enjoy. I still don’t care for sports.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
Kab - Feel free to talk about what you like. That’s how we get to know each other!
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
I was just thinking that, myself, yyyguy
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
Hi, Frankr
kab2rb about 14 years ago
I know some of you like sports, like Lonewolf loves pool. Some of you like movies or PBS shows, BBS loves mischief of course Little Sister is busy studing. What hobbies do some of you guys like. Saucy likes bead and jewlry work and Montana Lady loves star gazing.
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
Football, comics, collecting art, classic TV, movies & music. I like recording music on to tape too.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
Kab - I’m interested in almost anything but right now don’t have the time to pursue much.
yyyguy about 14 years ago
i’m not putting down anyone’s favourite shows or hobbies (or anything else, for that matter). i’m a firm believer in “live and let live” and think most of the Tribe feels the same way. however, we also like to tease each other from time to time (gently, of course). as for hobbies, my main one these days is photography. i just bought a new camera body (digital) to go with the lenses i owned previously (slightly cheaper than buying a whole new outfit) and took a trip to Niagara Falls on Friday to learn how to use it before the wedding of the decade happens on Saturday. anyone who is interested can check my albums on PhotoBucket (and i know some of you are). latest pics won’t go up for a week or so, too much to do before i leave for New Jersey.
yyyguy about 14 years ago
and speaking of things to do, laundry isn’t a hobby; but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t need doing. time to deal with reality again. see you all in the funnies, and remember: the NHL starts this week.
kab2rb about 14 years ago
yyyguy those pictures should be good.
Will hurt Wichita a lot.
kab2rb about 14 years ago
Laundry never goes away.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
yyyguy - Have a good time with your ‘non-hobby’. :-)
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
Since I actually like cooking, I might call it a hobby too, but no I wouldn’t call doing laundry or anything I don’t like doing a hobby. I love to cook, but I hate to do the dishes.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
I second that Grog.
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
Good Night Yguy. I am looking forward to the new hockey season, though many of the Champion ‘Hawks are gone from the team!
kab2rb about 14 years ago
Grog what type of food do you cook? Here due to watching fat content we use ground turkey a lot or cook leg quarters on barbecue.
kab2rb about 14 years ago
Well all I’m stopping this Dancing is over, I need to take a shower finish one text, tomorrow go to Dr. for sinus. Friday I was hurting badly. I hope to go to bed earlier if I can sleep.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
See you later Kab - Good luck!
Quabaculta about 14 years ago

GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
Wow, this game has changed in a hurry.
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
Good Night, Quaby & Kab
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
Well, it certainly got quiet all of a sudden. Anyone still out there?
George Arnold about 14 years ago
I’m here.
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
I’m also here, Grog. I’ve been watching the game, but I must have blinked or something! LOL
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
Another blocked kick. A field goal attempt goes for a touchdown for the Patriots. 34-14 Pats.
I wonder if Lewreader would even be happy with that.
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
How was dinner, ♠Lonewolf♠? Or did you stuff yourself with snacks instead?
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
Grog - - The beef sandwiches were excellent. The snacks have been fill ins before and after the beefs. Our budding football player sure can pack it away. :^)
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
How many times can a team shoot itself in the foot??!!
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
The Dolphins are giving it all they’ve got in that department.
I seem to recall being the same way in my youth, ♠Lonewolf♠
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
Game over. Well it was a good game through 3. But it’s over and time for me to see the inside of my eyelids for at least 6 hours.
Good night, ♠Lonewolf♠ & Sojourner
George Arnold about 14 years ago
Good Night Grog.
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
Good Night, Grog. Sleep well, sir!
Ooops! Premium Member about 14 years ago
George Arnold about 14 years ago
Sounds good to me LuvChaos.
Ooops! Premium Member about 14 years ago
I do not cause mischief or chaos. They just happen to
George Arnold about 14 years ago
Kind of like Joe Btfsplk in Li’l Abner that always had a rain cloud over his head?
