When I saw LoneWerewolf’s avatar I thought it was time to pick a more dramatic one for myself and stick with it. As it’s closely related to my fiction projects (and my fictional boss), I think I’ll keep it, at least around GoComics.

(The change has nothing to do with Halloween, but it probably has a lot to do with having seen How to Train Your Dragon on my iTunes umpteen times this week.)

Hm. At 7:00 AM (a little later than usual lately) I’ll have scrambled eggs, hash browns, and CocoMocha. If you have beef or turkey sausage, I’ll take that too. Oh yes, don’t forget the Tabasco sauce.

Hello EIDo Disc Golf.

Use * immediatel before and after text. One each side of text makes it italic, two = bold, three = italic and bold. There is a link to a guide with this etc. but I don’t have it right now. in a few min. I’ll have it or someone else may post it.

Here is the guide to help. (Leftt click on the blue text)

ElDo, there is a link to the style giude which I do not have on this computer.

A single * at the beginning end of each word or paragraph will give you italics.

Two ** at the begining and end will get you this

Three * * * will get you this

There is much more but unless someone else provides the link I will try to remember to post it later.

Ladyhawk - Thanks for lurking! Almost needed help.:-)

You must have at least 3 charecters between * and mark-ups usually disapear when editing so you must re-enter them.

When using #’s at the begining of a line some make all caps, some allow upper lower text etc. You can pratice on a previous date and then delete your experiments if you want.

Thanks for the examples Grog, It is better to show it but it takes me awhile to type so I didn”t do it.

Use the ! with pictures, leave it off for links. between it, the brackets, and the parenthesis don’t leave spaces. What you put in the brackets is optional. I have not used anything there witf photos. To get the URL if using Explorer put the cursor over the photo, right click, select Properties, highlight and copy the URL to paste into your comment. A lot of people here use Photo Bucket (free) to put photos they post. It is here - http://photobucket.com/

If you want to put text under your photo - & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; Without the space after & (I put it there so it would show. This adds blank lines so your text shows under the photo and not beside it. The number of times you have to put it depends on the size of the photo. So far I just post another comment under the photo. Others can explain things better than I can, feel free to ask for help.

I do not use Firefox. If you use the ! [ ] ( ) without spaces putting the URL inside the parenthesis without spaces before and after the URL it should place the photo if the URL is correct.

Or have someone explaine it better than I can. Try this without the spaces or returns (I put them in so it would show):

Copy it and post it deleting spaces and retutns.

Try not to post LARGE photos as they take up more disk space and GoComics will delete them to save space.

Could be, I had trouble at first as I sometimes have trouble seeing the screen sometimes also. Sometimes the URL is incomplete or wrong. Just have fun with it!

When using #’s, those have to be the first thing on a line. I experimented with indents but didn’t ever get them to work right. :-)

EIDo Disc Golf - Check the style guide posted earler. You can put one through five # at the beginning of a line. One is largest with each additional # getting smaller (some are upper case only, some allow both, Pratice to see what each does.) I Will not bother with examples. 5 #”s make regular size caps in red.

You can also add the *’s before and after the text following the # for different effects!

@Sojo &ElDo Disc Golf–it’s nice to bookmark/favorite the style guide, and then learn what you need when and as you need it.

Indents are like the larger type, but instead of #s, use >s at the beginning of the line,

thus with one >

has two >s

and this has three.

etc.

Oh, and spaces at the beginning of a line do

this sort of thing and if it runs on long enough, it goes right off the edge of the screen/box, and the only way to recover it is to copy it and past it into another word processor program…
