Hi, tribe!Sojo - Did you see we’re in for some rough weather today? There’s a good-sized storm system moving in from the SW. They haven’t issued any watches yet, but said it could be severe.
I’m heading out here shortly, I thought I’d see if I could get enrolled at the same college my sons go to, so I could start taking a class next semester.
Ladybat,
Your menu looks fabulous, maybe we should switch to lunch? Hmm…. someone must have been offended that I put in the tabasco sauce.
May I please have:
Penne Rigati Pasta with a Fresh Pesto Cream Sauce
Meatless Lasagna with Fresh Tomato, Ricotta and Mozzarella Cheeses
Homemade Focaccia Pizza Topped with Mozzarella Cheese and Diced Tomatoes
I finally got my virus software updated. I am still wondering why it wanted to disable the update it was already running but whatever.
Any thoughts on a Halloween costume? I think GoodWitchesCat would like some more friendlies. We seem to be lacking zombies. You do make an excellent Super Hero.
Hope everyone is enjoying the lunch (don’t get used to it from me though….) Virtual servers are on hand as I’m supposed to be busy working. ☺
Luv - I’ve noticed the breakfast menu’s seem to disappear at some point, I was just disappointed that it was gone before I got in today and it was only 10am my time.
LadyBat, I suppose we will eventually find out why the menus are disappearing, and whether or not we will be allowed to keep them.
There are people in this world who are unhappy and make themselves feel better by making others unhappy also. I have a feeling that some of the unhappy people have taken to complaining about the breakfast menu to the powers that be. (I’d say more but I have to work hard sometimes not to be one of the people who makes myself feel better by making others feel worse.)
@LuvH8 (She’s baaaack!), there are also people who complained about the “boilerplate” at Pibgorn, which had (and has) lots of useful information. It seems that, if it bothers someone that much, then either (1) scroll past it, or (2) don’t read the comments!
LoneWerewolf, you can always complain! Especially if you do it in an entertaining manner. Did they give you a long enough wait time to count all of the little holes in the ceiling tiles? Were the magazines the same ones you have been reading for 8 years? Hmmm……… is it really sanitary to read magazine’s in a waiting room? Ewww! What if someone sneezed on it? Or didn’t………… ummmm………… never you mind!

(Turns off water, puts hose away and turns on fountain. Looks around carefully and starts pouring the powder into the fountain near the the suction part.)
Hi, I’m back! For a little while anyway.
Sojo - I guess it rained while I was in Wal-Mart - there were puddles and wet pavement when I came out. I’m not sad to have missed the chance to get rained on or worse.
I am now officially admitted to the college! It went pretty easy, didn’t have to take any tests, get anything like ACT scores or college transcripts sent to them, or even pay any money - yet. Of course, if I wanted to get a degree, I would have had to do more. The advisor even took a photocopy of my unofficial transcript I had from one college, which showed I’d taken English Comp and Bus. Math, just in case I need either one for a prerequisite.
Hi Rmom - Had a little rain but cleared up then. May have more rain from now until about 2:00 am. Have been watching a course on probability and have learned what a 30% chance of rain means. The offical weather bureau definition is by definition not right! Hopefully they will change it to mean what it really means. But since it’s the government what is the probability of that? :-)
So far our rain chances are just hissing and spitting about in our area but suppose to get more serious tonight. Our University homecoming parade is tomorrow, so hope there is a pause so we can hear the bands, see the floats, and the kidlets can get all the candy from the candidates.
Rmom Cheers for you. It is great and a good example.
I did look at their yard today and said that it needs cleaning up or some mold will set in and possibly ruin their soil. If that happens and it spreads it can kill their plants.
Hi, Sojo, Lil’ Sis, and anyone else hanging around…
Sojo - I’ve found unless the weather bureau puts 0% or 100%, don’t count on the forecast to be what you think they’re telling you.
Johanan, Some years ago a fried of mine made me listen to The Chieftans. I’m half Irish but I think I’d rather listen to Sammy Davis Jr. Singing Tura Lura
Hi, Grog!Luv - I noticed the last few times I went to my doctor’s office that they had removed all the magazines in the waiting and exam rooms. There must have been some study about passing germs that way. If I can remember, I always try to bring a book or a magazine anyway, whenever I think I might have to wait some place, and have done that for years.
Hold on while I make a huge deposit to the Karma bank. It was a very good week at work, I was working the ‘cleanup’ email box, which means I chase after required documents, cancel bookings with no activity, etc. I kept on top of it all week and today, the worst/busiest day of all, I got all my documents in….not one email advising my office is missing documents. Really an impressive effort.
And to top it off, I feel bleeep good today. I haven’t felt this good in months. I sure hope it lasts!!
We resume our regular comments.
Runswithbeer, I, like Little Sister don’t know what happened with your daughter, but now that I know they are needed you have my prayers. There’s some high quality Karma in the bank you may want to tap into.
To everyone else, have a great evening! I’ll be lurking and/or popping in here and there.
Hi, Quaby! - Always great to have a day when things go right for a change!
Wolfie - I’m doing well. Only 2 headaches this month so far, no dizziness or anything like what I had this summer. Hurray!
Hubby’s having to work the wee hours of the morning, since he has a skill only one other person at his plant has, and that person isn’t fast enough to get the work done with the machine in the time it needs to get done. But that shift should only last through next week, and we’ve been anticipating this would happen sooner or later. It does play havoc with our plans for our son’s birthday tomorrow. But at least we’re not inviting any guests, so we can be flexible with the schedule.
Wolfie - Me too! I feel like I can finally start making plans like taking college, working, etc. I hope my health holds up - I’d like to think it was the change in med dosage that helped, but my gut feeling is that it was already going away before that. Either way though, I’m feeling better!
Thanks, Grog! I don’t know what was causing the problems, but I’m glad it isn’t anymore.
Wolfie - Doesn’t James have football games on Friday nights? Or is that just a KS high school tradition?
My comment got bleeped!!! It’s a common phrase ‘so d ar n good. But then I gather this is the same outfit that removed the menu.
I can’t remember coming on to chatter last weekend. I had the craft fair. First thing that happened was when I was putting the final items into the back of the wagon. I dropped my key w/o realizing it until I went to open the other doors. It is the only key I have for the Saturn, the alarm doesn’t work it’s all ‘manually’ locked now. Not thinking there was much hope I called AAA, figuring at least they could recommend a locksmith. Lo and behold less than 45 minutes later the gentleman was there with his official coathanger. He couldn’t get enough pressure to trigger the door unlock, but he managed to snag the lever that opens the trunk from inside the car. Relief was overwhelming, ALL my bead items were locked in the car, I couldn’t even just take the other car because I had NOTHING to sell.
Not that it mattered. The table cost $15 and I sold 2 earrings at $5 a pop. But I got more than $5 worth of reward from it, my snowflakes are back in the shop on display, hoping some will sell this year. And I can display my necklaces (not the chunky ones, but the seed bead ones) in the first quarter.
And Non-Con is tomorrow from 7pm to 7am, so I may be scarce Sunday. So I’ve got to get a lot done before I leave so It’s back to lurking. Peace.
A Hey to you Rmom,(glad you’re feeling better) ….Quaby (good days are great)…..LoneWerewolf,(Hope James has good game & thought you “pool” on Fridays)….. Grog (being 1/2 Irish means you have a lovely country in your heritage & maybe auburn hair!),…… Sojourner,…..(glad you’re through paying bills);……Little Sister (hope you can do the weed work. It’s nice you help out.)
I am going to turn in early, read a bit, and get ready for the homecoming parade. No rain here yet and it feels like Spring.
Quaby - The “nannybot” is the reason Luv has coined the word ”mendasock!” Deleting the breakfast posts has to be done by a human, as far as I know. But anything that gets bleeped instantly is done automatically by a computer program.
As Wolfie has illustrated, we’ve noticed that punctuation marks right next to the normally bleeped word, does seem to help it get past the nannybot. Now, if it is offensive enough, it could get flagged, and then whatever action the mods deem appropriate will happen.
Good to see you, Goodwitchescat! - Okay, I know I’m lazy, but I think GWC is going to have to suffice for me. If I’m not confused, you live in the KC area? If so, it looks like scattered rain is heading in your direction.
Goodwitchescat., no auburn in the hair but there was a little red in the beard back in my younger days when I had one. I’m afraid that if I allow myself to grow facial hair now it would be gray. Yet, my hair is (still @ 50) naturally brown with a few gray strands.
Grog - From the sounds of what our hair is like, we could be related! At 51, I have brown hair with only a few strands of silver. (Doesn’t silver sound SO much better?) My father, and 2 of my 3 brothers had red whiskers. We always suspected the 3rd brother got mixed up at the hospital. Black whiskers, and allergic to poison ivy, which as far as I know, no one else in our family is allergic to.
Thanks, Sojo! About all I can complain about healthwise now, has to do with aging, so I don’t think complaining going to help me get better. (Although, I do remind my kids I’m an old lady, so they need to do more of the work!)
Back from brushing my teeth, Rmom Yes, an hour SEof KC but our weather varies from KC and it goes north of us…I-70 seems like a dividing line sometimes. Yes, Little Sister,I don’t doubt you can do the work but am hoping the weather cooperates there as well as here so you can. * : )
GrogI used to have auburn hair but it quickly started turning when I was 30, 40 and I am mostly white with dark on my neckline. Ahhh time.
Wolfie & Grog - At least you’re doing better than the male members of my family. Most of their hairs turned loose instead of turning silver. I tell my sons they are doomed to have male pattern baldness - every male in the last two generations on both my side and my hubby’s is bald. I’m noticing receding hairlines starting to happen on them, but they won’t admit it yet.
Lonewerewolf It is amazing how heredity affects us…My sister who is 7 years older than I has a lot of dark hair left, yet my mom and I with the reddish hair both followed similar patterns. I had mine dyed for a few years and then left it alone.
That is funny, Rmom. I’m glad to no that some cousins of mine had similar traits to me, but being 5 years older than me, who knows now, and I haven’t seen them since my mother’s funeral in ‘05.
Grog - It is interesting to note that although male pattern baldness is supposed to be inherited from the mother’s side, I guess the women in the family had bald fathers and married bald men or something. I’ve got a fair number of cousins on both side of the family and all the males are balding that I can think of right now. Guess I ought to go look at pictures taken at my parents’ funerals and family reunions, to do a survey.
I must admit, my mop has thinned out a bit, but I don’t look like Rene Levesque or my first boss who had these few strands of hair combed over a cue-ball head from one side to the other.
Grog - It is quite amusing the things guys with balding pates will do that they think will fool others. My oldest brother has had a toupee for about 40 years, I think. He convinced my other two brothers to get toupees. The middle brother doesn’t have the resources or the fashion sense to keep getting a new one to look appropriate. The youngest took my advice after a few years of wearing a rug, to just let his head look “honest.” He now shaves his head for the cue ball look. But the other two have never been married. The youngest has been married twice (both very short marriages, unfortunately) which tells me that I’m not the only woman who is more attracted to an honest head, than a falsely haired one.

COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
Good night, Doc.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
Hello Little Sister.
LittleSister18 about 14 years ago
Hello all! How is everyone today?
George Arnold about 14 years ago
I am doing fine today Little Sister - How has your week been?
LittleSister18 about 14 years ago
I don’t know what happened to RWB’s daughter but I’m glad that the news is good. I’ll Add my prayers and good wishes to him and his family.
LittleSister18 about 14 years ago
It has rained here in Southern California off and on, and it’s still cloudy.
Also there was a report on the news that some parts of Texas had received hail the size of tennis balls. OUCH!
LittleSister18 about 14 years ago
My week was okay Though I hate studying because it takes me away from you all.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
Do you have much studying for the weekend?
LittleSister18 about 14 years ago
No but surprisingly I do have to work. Pulling weeds at my grandparents house.
LittleSister18 about 14 years ago
They’re paying me 75 dollars to help them.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
I’m sure they will appreciate that! It’s good to be able to help out.
LittleSister18 about 14 years ago
I did look at their yard today and said that it needs cleaning up or some mold will set in and possibly ruin their soil. If that happens and it spreads it can kill their plants.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
Hopefully the weather will help out and be nice.
LittleSister18 about 14 years ago
Well if it rains then I can’t help them. The weather has been kind of weird lately. I just hope that it is at least sunny tomorrow.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Hi, Sojo, Lil’ Sis, and anyone else hanging around… Sojo - I’ve found unless the weather bureau puts 0% or 100%, don’t count on the forecast to be what you think they’re telling you.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Why is a mummy so tense? Because he’s all wound up!
LittleSister18 about 14 years ago
Something tells me that I should find a halloween avatar. But what can I pick that isn’t already taken?
LittleSister18 about 14 years ago
Ah ha! I know just the one to use……..Be right back.
LittleSister18 about 14 years ago
A haunted house of course.

Johanan, Some years ago a fried of mine made me listen to The Chieftans. I’m half Irish but I think I’d rather listen to Sammy Davis Jr. Singing Tura Lura

Hello Little Sister
How’s it going?
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Hi, Grog! Luv - I noticed the last few times I went to my doctor’s office that they had removed all the magazines in the waiting and exam rooms. There must have been some study about passing germs that way. If I can remember, I always try to bring a book or a magazine anyway, whenever I think I might have to wait some place, and have done that for years.
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
Hi, Grog. I’m watching Ghost Adventures at the present time. Are you watching a movie?
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
♠LoneWerewolf♠, I just finished watching The Avengers 1966. I’m now watching DD&D
LittleSister18 about 14 years ago
So Grog, did any hail come your way?
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
Hi, Rmom
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
Not a drop…a very little rain though. Our chances for rain increase throughout the week-end.
A good week-end for Football as is Any Given Sunday

Hello Tribe

Hi, Rmom. How are you doing, lady?
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago

Hi, Quaby. Long time no see.
LittleSister18 about 14 years ago
Hi Quaby
George Arnold about 14 years ago
Good to here from you Quaby.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
Glad to hear your symptoms are lessening, (((Rmom))).
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Wolfie - Me too! I feel like I can finally start making plans like taking college, working, etc. I hope my health holds up - I’d like to think it was the change in med dosage that helped, but my gut feeling is that it was already going away before that. Either way though, I’m feeling better!
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
Rmom, I too am glad that you seem to be feeling better.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Thanks, Grog! I don’t know what was causing the problems, but I’m glad it isn’t anymore. Wolfie - Doesn’t James have football games on Friday nights? Or is that just a KS high school tradition?
Quabaculta about 14 years ago
Peace.
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
darn, darn, darn,
LOL
hopeandjoy2 about 14 years ago
A Hey to you Rmom,(glad you’re feeling better) ….Quaby (good days are great)…..LoneWerewolf,(Hope James has good game & thought you “pool” on Fridays)….. Grog (being 1/2 Irish means you have a lovely country in your heritage & maybe auburn hair!),…… Sojourner,…..(glad you’re through paying bills);……Little Sister (hope you can do the weed work. It’s nice you help out.)
I am going to turn in early, read a bit, and get ready for the homecoming parade. No rain here yet and it feels like Spring.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Quaby - The “nannybot” is the reason Luv has coined the word ”mendasock!” Deleting the breakfast posts has to be done by a human, as far as I know. But anything that gets bleeped instantly is done automatically by a computer program. As Wolfie has illustrated, we’ve noticed that punctuation marks right next to the normally bleeped word, does seem to help it get past the nannybot. Now, if it is offensive enough, it could get flagged, and then whatever action the mods deem appropriate will happen.
hopeandjoy2 about 14 years ago
Here’s to a good breakfast menu that stays around until I can see it!
paddy-paw-paddy-paw to bed.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Good to see you, Goodwitchescat! - Okay, I know I’m lazy, but I think GWC is going to have to suffice for me. If I’m not confused, you live in the KC area? If so, it looks like scattered rain is heading in your direction.
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
Goodwitchescat., no auburn in the hair but there was a little red in the beard back in my younger days when I had one. I’m afraid that if I allow myself to grow facial hair now it would be gray. Yet, my hair is (still @ 50) naturally brown with a few gray strands.
LittleSister18 about 14 years ago
I am very capable of doing the weed work. And I have a good back, so hopefully I can get a lot done, depends on the weathers co-operation.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Grog - From the sounds of what our hair is like, we could be related! At 51, I have brown hair with only a few strands of silver. (Doesn’t silver sound SO much better?) My father, and 2 of my 3 brothers had red whiskers. We always suspected the 3rd brother got mixed up at the hospital. Black whiskers, and allergic to poison ivy, which as far as I know, no one else in our family is allergic to.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
Have a good night Goodwitchescat.
Rmom - I am glad you are feeling better!
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Thanks, Sojo! About all I can complain about healthwise now, has to do with aging, so I don’t think complaining going to help me get better. (Although, I do remind my kids I’m an old lady, so they need to do more of the work!)
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
Good night Goodwitchescat.
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
Grog, I too, am lucky to have only a few strands of gray in my mop! LOL
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
Rmom, I didn’t mean to show the punctuation marks as the reason for the allowance of certain words.
darn darn darn
hopeandjoy2 about 14 years ago
Back from brushing my teeth, Rmom Yes, an hour SEof KC but our weather varies from KC and it goes north of us…I-70 seems like a dividing line sometimes. Yes, Little Sister,I don’t doubt you can do the work but am hoping the weather cooperates there as well as here so you can. * : )
GrogI used to have auburn hair but it quickly started turning when I was 30, 40 and I am mostly white with dark on my neckline. Ahhh time.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Wolfie & Grog - At least you’re doing better than the male members of my family. Most of their hairs turned loose instead of turning silver. I tell my sons they are doomed to have male pattern baldness - every male in the last two generations on both my side and my hubby’s is bald. I’m noticing receding hairlines starting to happen on them, but they won’t admit it yet.
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
I am lucky, Rmom. My Dad had dark hair at 51 when he passed on.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Okay, Wolfie, I think I know how you snuck those past the nannybot, but I won’t tell your secret!
hopeandjoy2 about 14 years ago
Lonewerewolf It is amazing how heredity affects us…My sister who is 7 years older than I has a lot of dark hair left, yet my mom and I with the reddish hair both followed similar patterns. I had mine dyed for a few years and then left it alone.
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
That is funny, Rmom. I’m glad to no that some cousins of mine had similar traits to me, but being 5 years older than me, who knows now, and I haven’t seen them since my mother’s funeral in ‘05.
hopeandjoy2 about 14 years ago
Grog and Rmom My son is following the same pattern of my dad with the receding hairline in front and thinning some in the back it seems.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Grog - It is interesting to note that although male pattern baldness is supposed to be inherited from the mother’s side, I guess the women in the family had bald fathers and married bald men or something. I’ve got a fair number of cousins on both side of the family and all the males are balding that I can think of right now. Guess I ought to go look at pictures taken at my parents’ funerals and family reunions, to do a survey.
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
I must admit, my mop has thinned out a bit, but I don’t look like Rene Levesque or my first boss who had these few strands of hair combed over a cue-ball head from one side to the other.
LittleSister18 about 14 years ago
What do I know about silver hair?
Well let’s see?
Silver hair represents knowledge, and with that knowledge comes compassion.
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
By the way, my first boss was in his early thirties when I started.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago

The Rangers are going to the World Series!! Who would of thunk it?
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
The World Series? I thought baseball season was over by now.
LittleSister18 about 14 years ago
The Rangers won! Well, that explains thr reason why I hear my dad cheering in the living room.
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
Yep, they beat the Yankees!
