Good morning all. Today is one of my mini Fridays, so after work I get to head back up to Philly. Need to charge my lawnmower for one more pass over the lawn before i put it up for the season. I’ll cut and mulch tomorrow, and pick up the leaves at the same time. If it’s nice enough, I’ll sit out on the back patio after I clean the leaves and sticks off of it for a bit :-)

Looks like Romo’s gonna be out for quite a while, Grog. Can Kitna keep the offense going? Or are you calling it a season

I took to liking the Raiders after they beat my division Rival Eagles and Redskins in the Superbowls back in the 80’s. If the Broncos could do that, I would like them, too. Instead, they lost badly to the Giants and Redskins.

Hi, Runs, Sojo & Doc! Doc - It was really windy here last night! Not only did I feel the house moving a little bit, it was even squeaking. I am SO glad I put hurricane straps on to hold the roof trusses to the walls. I was driving home last night from tutoring - on a north/south highway no less - when the wind actually moved my PT a little bit. I’m so used to driving when it is windy, and the PT isn’t near like driving a van or SUV in the wind, that I was surprised by the strength of the gust. If it had been on an east-west road, maybe it wouldn’t have surprised me so much.

Hi, Rmom My new Aveo gets blown around in the wind here, too. It’s higher up off the ground than my Cavelier, so I seem to feel it more. And yes it’s gusty down here, too.

Rmom, I guess with the beefing up of the spam they felt the need to have someone working, but I don’t recall the spam disappearing in the past. There’s just so much of it now.

Grog - There does seem to be a lot of spam lately. Somedays I don’t bother trying to read the comments on all the strips I read, because my filter evidently blocks pages where certain spam shows up. (Not all spam, just some.) So, then I have to wait until the mods remove the spam before I can read the comments. Just isn’t worth the effort, especially if I’m busy.

I think the spam is being removed faster now. Even on weekends. I think someone is flagging it, they should check to see if it’s offending though. It could be the length but then Sunday’s menu stays while spam is deleated. I think it’s flagged but don’t know. Was off for a bit as I had to let my router cool down, have not replaced it yet.

Sojo - I don’t know if there are more mods working during the week than on Sundays, which would be my guess. I’m guessing the weekend crew doesn’t want to spend the extra time it must take to delete specific non-spam/borderline comments. They may require a higher flag count before they look at a comment. Our internet service isn’t too bad, but I don’t think there are redundancies in the system, so sometimes it just goes out without warning. That, and sometimes RL just pulls me away suddenly. I don’t get too concerned about someone not being always available, unless they’re gone for longer than usual without explanation.

Glad to hear everyone’s safe from that horrible wind and storm blowing through the midwest.

We have some great news….our youngest just asked his girlfriend to marry him, and she said yes!!! Woo Hoo. She is really terrific…..don’t know when it’ll happen, but we are just VERY happy for them! (sheds a lot of tears at the news).

It’s 43 here…supposed to have a high of 41 (go figure). Brrrrr…..wind chill makes it about 38. Brrrrr again.

Congratulations, Montana Lady! It is great that your son has good taste in women. I’m not looking forward to winter. However, I’ve been surprised how long we’ve had warm weather here without a really cold spell. I bought a new jacket and haven’t had a chance to try it out, otherwise I’d be very happy about the warmer weather. I don’t think I’d do well in the winter months in the north. My husband says my blood doesn’t circulate, which is why my feet and hands are ectothermic. Mine does, but at a lot lower speed than his does, so the blood is cooled off by the time it gets to the end of the line. Wearing gloves indoors to stay warm makes it difficult to do a lot of tasks.

My Mom did that to me once, Rmom. I think there was another time she forgot where she hid my present.

I know my memory’s getting worse, so it wasn’t a surprise to anyone. At least I hid them where I ran across them last night. If I hadn’t found them when I was looking for something else, I wonder how long it would have taken for me to remember them?

Hello all just stopping by. I have been so busy, and next week is enrollment. One of the instructor’s will be a slight more busy. She and hubby are at hospital she will be having a baby. She has her lap top. I told her she won’t have much time for on-line. My discussions are better then the tests. I have printed off tests for future references. Lonewerewolf glad you are surving those masive winds. Sorry I am not quite thinking I know there where BD mentioned here and I wish them a great BD. For our son he will want pizza for his BD.
