Doing well, my friend now that the BFF is getting stronger. Unfortunately that means I’m back at work, but we can’t have everything. How are your pool leagues going?

Going well, though I haven’t been attending as much as I normally do. It’s been up and down with the way I have been feeling lately.

Glad to hear that your BFF’s recovery is coming along well. And yes, I know the work thing! I’m going to work for someone part time at a repair shop. He lost one of his mechanics and I agreed to fill for a while. LOL

Good morning, Grog! I’m just trying to find a missing receipt. I’m guessing my son used my credit card to put gas in one of our vehicles. But since we keep track of the mpg, I need to find the receipt. With all the vehicles and fuel we use, it is like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Grog - Do you handle any of the payroll stuff? Is the fiscal year the same as the calendar year end for your company?

HopeandJoy–it’s wicked slow for me too–and it’s the site, since it’s consistent on both computers.

Hope&Joy - It is really slow for me too, and I got an error message once, so I don’t think it is you. Hi, bmonk - How about a virtual ham sandwich? The texture is a lot like pulled pork, but with the salty, cured flavor.

No payroll, Rmom. That’s handled out of Dallas.

And yes, but we’re still waiting to hear what our New Year’s day off would be. It’ll probably be Friday, but I’d prefer Monday - especially if Dallas get’s the Monday.

Grog - It was always tough for me to take off the week of Christmas to New Year’s. A lot of people wanted it, and since I was in charge of payroll for 100+ stores, everything needed to be caught up and balanced by 12-31.

Rmom, if I don’t take some time off, I’ll be carrying forward 2 weeks. I really don’t want to do that.

Grog - Especially if you’ll lose it. My hubby always tried to carry one year’s worth of vacation forward, and that was the maximum that company allowed.

Yes, Grog, it has been all over the local news here. Very sad to say the least.

The refresh rate for Gocomics is slow from time to time today. Not always, but enough to get on one’s nerves. (At least mine)

The only problem I’ve had is in posting comments. They seem to take forever.

Good to hear from you RwB - Don’t get burned!

I have at least 10 tabs open at one time so when I refresh, I am usually refreshing more than one tab at a time. If the Gocomics site is experiencing any problems whatsoever, it seems to magnify my refresh rate.

And yes posting is also requiring more time to take.

Hello again and thanks bmonk, Rmom, Sojo, Lonewolf, Runswb,Grog (who is not groggy I now have Big Top site on my desktop by itself and it works fast as it should since we have high speed. I will check out the other comics next. I hadn’t had this “slow” and “message” problem before.

Lonewolf YES, the posting is taking a VERY long time so something is afoot that they are working on.

Wolfie - I just realized that I need to put a different avatar up. But I hate to decorate for Christmas until it is December. Guess that goes back to my childhood. My sister’s bday is on the 9th, and we didn’t decorate until AFTER her birthday. (Evidently, it wasn’t as big of a deal to the males - Dad’s was on the 13th, and a brother’s is on the 14th).

Rmom - - Funny, most of our b-days are/were in November, December and January(7).

State police said he was cooking at his stove when the cat knocked the loaded gun off the kitchen counter behind him.

The moral to this story is feed your cat BEFORE you cook your own food.

Hi, Doc! I guess it is a good thing you probably don’t have loaded guns around your cats. My husband doesn’t like cats, especially in the house, so we shouldn’t have that problem. I will say that my guns have safeties that a cat couldn’t undo.

Wolfie - The brake idiot light and warning noise has been coming on my PT. So, now my son (with my assistance) is supposed to change them after watching my hubby change them on another car once. Thank goodness for the internet, but trying to find the right tool when my husband doesn’t put his away, is rather tricky.

Wolfie - The job isn’t completed yet. We stopped when we couldn’t find a large enough C clamp. I finally located the tool my hubby uses instead, but had to take a picture of it and email it to him, to make sure it was the right tool. By that time, our son had gotten out of his dirty clothes and was working on supper. So the PT is in the car up on jack stands.

Well, if you need any info, just let me know, Rmom.

Rmom, you are a mom of many talents, I’m thinking…I have blankets to keep me warm inside and necessary outdoor mufflers, coats, boots etc….grippers for icy streets when that becomes a problem. I think hibernating sounds pretty smart, however.

Grog Dallas people should leave you alone. Austin has some good people I know, but then they also have politicians…..

HopeandJoy, This person is just being the PITA he usually is. This guy doesn’t believe in planning or timelines of major event. He’ll let something sit in his in box for 3 weeks and ask for the information he needs at the last minutes, whether it’s readily available or not.

Where I used to get enough lead time to notify my information sources of upcoming needs under my old company, this new one doesn’t believe in doing that.

Hope&Joy - I’ve never changed brake discs before, but I’ve hung around my hubby (at least before we had kids, and now that they’re older) while he’s worked on vehicles. I am pretty mechanical naturally, but have never learned much about working on cars. My Dad preferred to build houses instead of repairing cars. I can change a tire, change oil and add fluids, but that is about the extent of my auto mechanic knowledge. My mom & dad were both very talented in practical matters. Between the two of them, they could teach about every subject in 4-H.

GrogNot an efficient way to operate but he probably doesn’t understand what you do or what is needed anyway or he might use a different approach…then again…

I can change a tire and know how to check different fluids RMOM and am aware of “sounds” and when the car isn’t handling as it should but I depend on a mechanic to do what is right and keep the car functioning. Good luck to you and your son.

For those here and at turnover - I may be up but might fall asleep. I have to get up early and have an apt.with my eye Dr. just before noon. As my eyes will be dilated I will probably be on in the morning for a bit but may not be able to get on until later.
