Hi to Lonewolf, Montana Lady, Doc Toon, Rmom and bmonk who are usually on around now.
Hi!
Busy morning for me. I’ve been working on a counter-offer to the insurance company.
Luv - I do wonder how you know what all those guys have under their clothes! (shakes head and smiles)
Oh, and here’s the quote from the tow truck driver:
“…I heard cars heading east on Kellogg I looked at them and they were coming fast like they were racing each other before I could move I was hit by a small car. Never slowed down…”
Seeing as the driver behind my son put in her statement
“…car in front of me slammed on brakes & swerved right.”
It is obvious that he was wrong about my son not slowing down.
I’ll have to leave soon, because I’m taking the boys to school. The van’s brights aren’t very, so with deer, that makes it more risky driving home after dark. He isn’t very good driving my PT. (Manual, and he keeps killing the engine.) So, I thought I’d drop them off, do shopping at Sam’s, Wal-Mart, etc. while they’re at class.
I’ve got the highway patrol’s diagram posted on photobucket, but that site’s currently down for maintenence, or I’d provide a link.
Thanks, Sojo!
Well, time to get ready. Hopefully we’ll have enough time to stop at the eye doctor’s office (right on the way) and get new lenses ordered.
Runs From Beer, locking my keys in my car is why I developed the habit (or obsession) of having my keys in my hand when I close my car door. Even if I know I just put them in my pocket or bag, I must take them back out and have them in my hand before I will close the door. It kind of drives other people batty though.
Greetings TRIBE. I always make sure I have the keys in my hand when I get out of my vehicle. I locked my keys in one day and had to wait for over 2 hours before someone could come and unlock it. NOT FUN.
In the meantime everybody who is tired should go take a nap. [Me first]
Hello again everyonejust back from our pleasant visit.
Skitty naps are always good! *: )
Lonewolf talking of toothpicks to hold your eyelids open makes me jitterish…try duct tape or is it duck tape next time (talk about a worse solution.)
LuvH8Maybe I could bargain with Kitty to share a few scrambled eggs….not likely though!
O.k. If you caught me caroling on halloween, it was probably in an elf costume(but the angel idea was sweet) NOW I must congratulate you on your footie pink pjs, Kitty whiskers and ears, a rinestone collar, and the basketfull of chocolate you gave out at the Mall next to Chuckie Cheese. How very special.
As for the Key dilemma I won’t close the door without double checking in my purse or hand to make sure I have them…and I still locked them inside one time at the Post Office. The friendly police in our wonderful town of 18,000 or so were quick to my rescue. They said they answer at least 1 call a day for locked cars.
OK. Well we’re still having a problem with one of our plants with close, but looks like it won’t be solved til the morning. So I’m homeward bound a lot earlier than I thought.
Another couple of funny stories about locked-in-car keys:
One priest of the Abbey was stopping at a deanery meeting to dash in and say he couldn’t stay–he’d left the car running, and as he slammed the door shut, he realized it was locked…. He got to stay for the meeting anyway, as his car slowly emptied the gas tank…
I also heard about a locksmith in a major city–New York, I think–who regularly got calls from tourists who’d locked their keys in the car. At 2 a.m. and such. So, he’d get out of bed and drive over to where they were, use his slim-jim to unlock the car in about 15 seconds, and then ask his fee of $50. If they balked, he threw the keys back in the car, locked the door, and headed back home.
I will be watching the Bulls play tonight. Their new free agent acquisition, Carlos Boozer, will play his first game tonight. He’s been injured since preseason.
I was putting away some old books and we have several old German books (about 100 years) most of which are religious, healing or recipe books. I was just curious if you could read them.
Hi, my “invisible” friends!
It’s been a hectic afternoon/evening, but I think I got everything done, and a little besides. Didn’t take time to get everything on my shopping list, or else I forgot to put it on the list, but nothing that can’t wait.
The brake idiot light/noise was bothersome for the first 30 minutes of the trip, but was off the rest of the time. There is something making a rubbing noise that I can hear at parking lot speed, so I’m going to insist this weekend that my hubby inspect all 4 wheels to see if he can see anything amiss.
LonewolfI don’t find the Bulls on my channels. I will primarily watch Duke anyway on espn as they are playing Mich State and should be a good game…Duke might even lose but I hope not.
Wolfie - So glad you showed back up! I was getting concerned, too.
Sojo - Did you happen to see the sunset tonight? I think it was probably gorgeous, but I was in Dillons during the time it was probably at its best.
Hi, Hope&Joy! I’m glad you can sing. That’s not a talent God gave me - mine is so bad that as soon as my sons could talk, they were shushing me when I tried to sing.
Hi Rmom Sing anyway at least when you are by yourself if no other time because the music inside you can make you feel good. Hope you get the “”sound” taken care of in your car.
Hope&Joy - I do. I’ve also tried singing quietly along with recorded music. The biggest problem now is that my sons have inherited the lack of musical ability as well (my hubby’s worse than I am, but I’ve never ever heard him sing, even in church.) At least I’ve taught them to appreciate good music - they enjoy classical music, and I’m working on exposing them to other genres.
Rmom - No I missed it. I’m now trying to get a smart phone to access my wireless network. I’m using MAC filtering and have to figure out the password. :-)
Sojo - Good luck with that! Even my geek son hates messing with smart phones. Too bad, because if he liked them, he could probably get a job at Verizon.
Someone saw this at Dillons. Obviously, the toy designer wasn’t thinking clearly - or was he/she?
Thanks but I think it was more of an accident. Not really but might as well of been. All day I couldn’t get it to reconize the microSD card after getting the phones switched with my carrier this morning. Finally after powering it off and on it reconized it. That should of been the first thing for me to try for that.
I have learned most of Fiend by accident. The destructions weren’t all that detailed. Monkey 2 and I do occassionally teach each other something we have figured out though.
Sojo/Monk If I have a computer, phone or anything electrical problem, my solution is to turn it off and back on and its is fixed usually!! I need to do this for Duke…game a bit problematic
The microSD card problem was fixed by powering off and on. I should of thought of that sooner but didn’t. I had installed the battery then that and then charged the battery. After turning the power on the first time and connecting to the provider I noticed it didn’t see the extra memory. As it had been just powered on I didn’t think of turning it off. I uninstalled it and reinstallled it (which you can do while it is still on supposedly) and it still wouldn’t see it. I went on to other things and latered realized it was stuck on uninstalling it. That’s when I thought of repowering it.
I remember now about OSU. Wild place to play. I graduated from local university but have followed Duke since Coach K arrived and appreciate their program. Just wish Dick Vitale on the broadcast wouldn’t carry on so much…he just praises too much…makes it that much harder on the players. I turn him off!!! (I’m listening to the internet radio and interviews, stats etc.)

Spiritual repair: Saying, “Oh, God, let this work!” while restarting it.
Scatological or Profane repair: as above, using “D@μη it, WORK!” (Or another handy bit of Anglo-Saxon, French or your favorite pithy language.)
I also added two methods of disposal:
Percussive disabling: Use a sledgehammer.
Explosive disabling: Use a shotgun.
Defenestrating disabling: Use the window.
Are there any others out there?

The microSD card problem was fixed by powering off and on. I should of thought of that sooner but didn’t. I had installed the battery then that and then charged the battery. After turning the power on the first time and connecting to the provider I noticed it didn’t see the extra memory. As it had been just powered on I didn’t think of turning it off. I uninstalled it and reinstallled it (which you can do while it is still on supposedly) and it still wouldn’t see it. I went on to other things and latered realized it was stuck on uninstalling it. That’s when I thought of repowering it.

HopeandJoy - I went to KU but am not a KU grad. :-)
Actually I’m more for OSU (Okalhoma). Haven’t gone there but a lot of my realatives did and I think I would of liked to.

I WILL stop this after final stats. *: )

The restart thing is something I forget all the time. (Shhh! Is secret!)

It should be a first choice even if it doesn’t seem to apply to the problem at hand. For some reason it’s not always remembered!
