LuvH8 - I wasn’t sure if I could get use out of it to make it worthwhile in my case. However their are many free apps that will really pay off. A got a scanner app that lets me listen to fire, police, EMS etc. Having worked for them it’s interesting to keep in touch that way. Just heard a call come in for a few blocks from my house. That app alone saves me from having to buy a scanner.

Good lord, sometimes I think the breakfast menu killer is like Madaline Murry O’Hara, who didn’t like the church service on the TV and instead of changing the channel made a big religious freedom fuss about it.

I awoke to the white stuff on the ground this morning. Had to get the driveway cleaned up. Only about 3-4 inches so far. It is still snowing, but mostly just flurries.

After breakfast I’m going to take a nap before the SEC Championship game. I think I’ll also was Oklahoma/Nebraska tonight. That used to be quite the rivalry.

I do have this nice scythe and the three swords in Monkey 2’s closet and my meat cleaver collection. Not to mention my rubber duckie collection. I now have a Santa rubber duckie. No one will want to mess with that.

Hello LuvH8 - I have watched several videos on youtube about my phone, there are several. Have downloade some apps I saw on them that will be helpful. Thank you for sugesting it. Have downloaded several other apps as well that I think I need and also some games. As it plays ACC music files I don’t have to convert some of my iTune files to MP3 to play on it. I am now really glad I got it!

The swords had a warning not to poke people on them when I got them. What fun is a sword if you can’t poke people? Of course it didn’t say anything about jabbing, stabbing, slicing, hitting, tripping …….

These people who write warnings are clearly not only not very creative but also not very grounded in reality. What do they think we are going to do with swords?

Hi, everyone! Hey Wolfie! - My hubby figured out why the idiot brake light/noise kept coming on. It is the switch for the parking brake. And no, I haven’t been driving with the parking brake on. But if I put the lever down too firmly, the light comes on. He showed me I can just wiggle the lever to get the light to stop. I think he’s figured out the noise too, just the CVJ (or whatever letters) getting worse, so maybe he’ll stop procrastinating on that repair.

Hi, Sojo! Wolfie - Possibly. My hubby’s taking a nap right now, so I can’t ask him. I guess the way my memory’s going, I’ll need to write it down. He said the part(s) will only be around $50, if that helps. The noise happens when the front tire (passenger side) is spun. It isn’t a continuous noise, just once each rotation.

Wolfie - He said that’s what he plans on doing, that’s the $50 part. It sounds like you two are on the same page, just different terminology.

Rmom - Yep, most of them are in the $45-$50 range these days. Fairly easy to replace too.

Wolfie - I’m glad it should be fairly easy. I told him he needs to make our son do the work, while he stands over him to supervise. At least it doesn’t sound like I need to keep the car parked until next Saturday when hopefully he’ll be able to work on it. This next week is finals week at school, so our son won’t have homework to interfere either.

Sojourner, I’ll only be watching it because it’s Oklahoma/Nebraska. I wouldn’t be interested otherwise. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen them play and it used to be a pretty good rivalry.

Wolfie - Our son at least is mechanical. Problem is, he hasn’t had hardly any training. I think if they would work together, it would give them some more “male bonding” time. But I’m glad to hear it should be easy.

I’ll be for Oklahoma because I like the state. I prefere OSU. My realitives in Oklahoma are all for OSU also, but to the degree they hate OU so I’m not sure which team thev’ed be for.

Grog & Sojo - I’m sure the rivalry still exists, but I’m not sure how they compare with each other this year. My oldest brother who is a rabid OU fan said he’s going to miss it in favor of a Reba McIntire concert. But he said he was there for the “game of the century” between the two of them.

I used to cheer for Nebraska, particularly when they played Miami in the champtionship game. I do not like Miami (or Florida). And Nebraska trounced them.

Hello everyone I have been very busy. I have missed a lot of my favorite comic strips and visiting with some.

Getting up early staying up late working on two subjects. I have two more tests to go one test on Psychology and two on medical. After instructors get the tests recorded I can concentrate more. I already have most tests I will be studying what I have for now. All your good thoughts are working. Some tests on one subject so-so. Having a C will work for me as long as I can pass. Took some time to hear our church Christmas cantata about the King. They used to different not quite babies a little older 2 or 3 months old and behaved great. Well back to work.

I wonder how is Little Sister doing on her subjects. Her memory is better then mine. Though on medical terms some of it is staying in my mind and I recongizne some.

Sister Kab I’m doing well at school. I get lots of help when I need it, either from my teacher or my Aunt, so I count my blessings.

Does anyone know who starts a new fashion trend? I went shopping for ear muffs this year, and I had to go to a farm supply store to find any C-shaped muffs. It seems like the “bomber hats” are all the rage this year. We saw one kid at the restaurant wearing one - with a hoodie & basketball shorts!

I might have worn shorts out this afternoon, Rmom. But I doubt I will tomorrow. Another cold front arrives. Grumble, grumble. I haven’t worn ear muffs since I left Edmonton. And I wasn’t wearing shorts then either. But some fools were.

Kab - You were wanting to see pictures of Christmas lights? Here’s several in our area. I know the Marshall family (#6) - they are a neat family.

Grog - How did the OU/Nebraska game go?

Grog - The cold front moved in here overnight. Yesterday was pretty nice, today it feels like winter, especially after dark.

Rmom, it’s at the half now with Nebraska leading by 3. They were up by 17 earlier, so I’m very afraid now.

And it’s supposed to be wet down here for us in the first half of the week. I just hope we don’t get freezing rain to make the morning commute even more miserable.

Now that our snowfall is over with, it will be in the teens tonight and only get to 25 tomorrow. Then it is single digits tomorrow night with a high of maybe 20 on Monday!

I’d rather have 30° and lots of snow than for it to be so cold!

Grog - Freezing rain is horrible! That is probably the worse thing to deal with.

♠Lonewolf♠, when I was living in Montreal, the very cold ensured that we wouldn’t be getting any snow. Any time it got close to freezing, we could count on a major dump. I don’t like the cold….but I’ll take it over snow.

What I really dislike is the wind chills we get here. I can handle it being colder (snow or not) if it is calm. But we usually have some wind, sometimes a lot of wind, and it cuts right through you in seconds.

I lived in the inner city area and worked down-town. Down-town was a mess after a major dump. I hated it more than the cold that at least you could dress for. Walking the down-town streets in the snowy sidewalks and the slushy wet strreet corners were bound to give you wet feet, because there was no place for the water to go. The Sewers would be blocked with snow & ice.

I’m sure down-town Chicago would be no different.

Rmom, Edmonton may have been bleeepin’ cold but the winds were generally pretty calm most of the time.

Nebraska can’t keep coughing up the football on their 20.

Field goal attempt is missed. Nebraska still leads.

Grog - Colorado, especially high up in the mountains, can be quite cold, but at least it is seldom windy. Here, we get both wind AND cold temps. At least for the next week, the highs are above freezing, and the lows in the 20’s.

Grog, yes Chicago is the same way.

Well at least Auburn kicked some SC butt today. They’ll be playing the Ducks. They’ll have them for dinner in the big show. (Sorry, LuvH8, but I’m sure Tigers will eat Ducks……not just tuna)

Hi Grog, Little Sister, Lonewolf, Sojourner I may get caught up tomorrow after the performance. Rmom we spent a half an hour just getting lined up and filing in 2x2 and up on the risers…(we have 5 rows 13 people in most rows) timing it all to a song etc. AHHHHH!

It does sound nice though from what I can tell. A good mix of older and young voices. The cello is awesome. The handbells are 4 tiers (lots of them with their own director) It just takes time to get it all going.

Good Night HopeandJoy - Sounds like a lot of fun work.

@Rmom, my mom knitted dad and me some unique earmuffs years back. We have nice thick hair, so we just need to keep ears and forehead warm. The muffs are basically a band around the head–mine is 22 inches circumference–a bit over 2 inches wide. Where the ears are, the width increases (cast stitches on) to about 3 1/2 inches, then decreases (cast off) back to 2 in.

When it was done, she sowed in some faux fur as a lining. Simple, and works great–if you have enough hair. And definitely small enough to fold up and slip in a pocket.
