LuvH8 - You probably can’t get out of making something once and keep on friendly terms with people. If you make them right though it will be the last time your asked to make something.

Is too late for that. They know they like the way I make stuff. Mom said she likes my fudge better than hers, I said then make it the way I do. (sadly shakes head) Now the teens like the Almond Tea Cakes. (sadly shakes head) It is horrible. I will have to make at least six kinds of cookies. Do you know what happens when you make that many cookies? You don’t even want to eat them. Mendasock! Divinity Too!!!

Make it long enough and I may come up with a special menu… full of nothing but items you don’t like. Then while the rest of us are enjoying them, maybe peer pressure can persuade you to come over and relearn a few tastes.

And how about a Luv List while you’re at it? Or would that be too extremely long, as it would be with me?

Hi, tribe! I can see page 1 this evening, maybe it was something about those Dusty style baths that tripped my filter? Runs - I know it seems weird that I can post on a page that I can’t see the comments. But if I go to my home page with my preselected comic strips, I can see the last comment (only) and post one there. I can also adjust the url so I can bring up a page 2 (or other number), even though there aren’t comments on that page yet, and comment in the box provided on that page. If I do that, I can also see the number of comments posted so far.

I think I side with Luv, Wolfie & Grog when it comes to food. I’m fairly curious about other things, but NOT food. The only time I can remember eating broccoli was in a casserole in Africa, and that’s because there wasn’t a lot of other choices available. Just couldn’t make myself eat it once again, once I got home. When I was in 3rd grade, my teacher stood over me and insisted that I clean my plate. I did, but then everything I ate promptly came right back up. Which is why I know it is pointless to eat something that truly repulses me.

Grog - I can’t stand cabbage in any form, and no pig’s feet either! Luv - Just never ask what they put in hamburger or sausage then. Some of the items I can handle in the ground meat, others get given or thrown away (when we buy a half of a cow or pig.) It is interesting that I can discuss the butchering instructions without difficulty, but fainted from reading a book, getting my ears pierced, etc. My hubby stood just a few feet from a woman getting a C-section (while we were in Africa), but I was on the verge of fainting, so could never make it out of the scrub room. (I watched some of it through the window in the door.) However, my hubby can’t stand to listen to the parts that go in our ground meat.

Hi Grog, LuvH8,Sojourner, Lonewolf and Rmom I’m cautious with food of unknown origin….but also believe in the small “one bite” principle for the most part. I keep a napkin handy for a discreet pat of the mouth.

Hi, Hope&Joy! I only take “one small bite” if I’m at my in-laws, just to keep peace. I have to make sure that I have something I like to eat immediately afterward, if not in the same bite, or my stomach gets queasy. The napkin idea is great if it is disposable, but what do you do when it is a cloth napkin?

Rmom, I don’t think there’s a part of the pig I don’t like.

Chicken’s got nothing on the pig. I rarely eat it. I also can’t say the same about beef. I like the occasional ribeye, but don’t really like beef ribs or ground beef that much. I’ll occasionally eat roast beef and of course corned beef brisket.

I also love cabbage, but can’t stand legumes. No pees or green beans for me.

As you know I am an RN and worked a lot of surgery cases for C-sections. I NEVER watch the incision being made but once that is over, I am good. (A habit I developed as a student and saw no reason to change)

Also have assisted on oral surgery cases which is pretty “messy” but I concentrated on keeping the mouth clean of debris. …but I don’t want to know about hamburger!!!

Rmom I stir my food around a lot with my fork and eat something I know is safe. Or do as you do, just a taste and follow quickly with something I like. I get along well with most food though. I have done the “chipmonk” imitation once and excused myself and headed for the ladies room to expectorate.

Grog - The only meats I eat are beef, pork, chicken & a little fish (canned tuna or fish sticks). I’m not crazy about rib meats, so if I have to have a ribeye steak, I need some worchestershire sauce to cover up the taste. My hubby won’t let me put that on prime rib, so I avoid it. (Yes, I tried it, that’s how I figured out why I used to have to have worchestershire sauce on steak as a child. I can eat Sirloins, filets, KC strips, etc. without steak sauce or marinade, but not a ribeye!)

Rmom, all I can say is that I more parts of the pig than any other animal. There’s not much of the cow I like and the only way I really like chicken is Kentucky fried. (I know not good for you).

I also like Lamb. Salmon is my favorite fish and the only shell fish I like to eat is shrimp.

Isn’t it strange how people will like some things and really dislike others? For example, I like relish on my burger [ I know what hamburger is but I like it anyway] but I can’t stand pickles. I also love liver but my husband doesn’t so I have to make something different for him when I cook it.

That is funny, because I will not eat relish. But when I do have burgers, I like to put on a double layer of kosher dills.

I also will not eat liver.

I like lamb with rosemary and mint. I enjoy soups of all kinds. Pork chops with cornmeal. Chicken and fish. T bone is my pick of the beef. back to the game…

Grog - I forgot about shrimp. I’ll only eat that breaded & fried, but I like it fairly well. I used to really like it, because I so rarely got to eat it. But then I bought a box at Sam’s, and only one of my sons would help me eat it. (Not my hubby or the other son.) I got a little burned out on eating shrimp, so I can take it or leave it now. I don’t want to give up eating fried foods, but a lot of places are using canola oil for frying, so it isn’t quite as bad. I’ve gone to eating chicken fingers/tenders more, as it still has the breading and is fried, but the skin & layer of fat has been removed.

Hi, Serena! Where do you live again? Maybe I can drop off some free liver at your house the next time I get a half of a cow. I like sweet pickles, but not dill pickles. Relish is usually made with sweet pickles. My Dad liked sweet pickles and relish, Mom didn’t care for those, but liked dill pickles. I used to put up with them on my burgers, but then once I got ill, and Mom told me that a pickle slice was identifiable when she cleaned up my mess. Ever since then, I try to order without, or at least pick them off.

Trying to get use to Firefox. To use the live cam at Yellowstone I need to install an add-on for Media Player that doesn’t exist so I can’t watch it with Firefox. When I tried to watch a show on Hula it said I needed the latest version of Flash which I already have (I checked the ver. no.). I went ahead and installed it again and now Hula works. Oh well, it’s a learning curve.
