Morning Tribe. Last day of vacation. Sigh It’s never long enough…but unless you’re taking a big trip (Like I did going to Houston) and plan well in advance, it is frowned upon taking two weeks vacation. And what the heck, if you’re doing the staycation keep that 2nd week (0r 3rd or 4th) for later in the year.

Hope to be working on loading beading patterns into the protective sleeves for my notebook. Yeah, I have a bunch on the machine, too, but it’s hard to leaf through a computer file compared to a notebook.

For those who are interested, I’m having New York Strip Steaks (thank you Angel Food) around noonish EST. I’ll wheel in the buffet when ready.

I’m not too hopefull my vacation will start today as planned.

Grog sounds like you have an European Boss. You know, from one of the countries that shuts down the entire month of August. Or Russia, the port of St. Petersburg is closed 12/16 thru 1/6(?). A heck of a long time anyway. And lets not get started on the Asian countries with a week long celebration of Full Moon day. (yeah, I’m being facetious)

Vacations never start as intended. Last Friday I didn’t get out of the office until almost 6pm.

Hello all for gas prices from yesterday’s comment I wasn’t including all taxes per city or state as I realize including KS sales tax varies. Ours is $2.85 not sure how long this will last. Also for Christmas decorations in some neighborhoods has slimmed down. Electricity cost a lot of money. Little Sister I already knew about both tests though fo one for grade finals one class I am waiting I guess some on-line students have gotten theirs done. I copied and pasted one of the finals tests I plan to check it out see what is being said. Today dept I work at is honoring the retired boss, he was transfered to a different location as that dept got off course, not sure why. Someone else has been in training for the boss that is retiring upper management had interviews of a few so the one in training received the promotion lets say workers at the dept I work at were not surpise. The soon new boss is very particular, order, and demands perfection not sure if I qualify.

I already have final results from one class just waiting for the other one. I am waiting for definate confirmation to know I can drop one I resigned up for and if electronics is right I can drop what I would have repeated on a class and move on.

For Christmas here we celbrate trandiationaly. Last two candlelight survice I didn’t get to go 1st one time change to earlier 2nd one snowy weather and too many car wrecks I have to travel too many bridges to go where I need to. This year I am off I get to go. Before the years is over I will be turning older and I am off as close to my last of 1000 hour will be close to being done. Too late to make up.

Lunch or brunch is now set up at the Big Top Buffet line. New York Strip steaks (well done, medium, medium rare, rare and ‘walk the cow past the stove, blindfolded’) Mashed potatoes, brown gravy and assorted veg. Dessert is an ice cream bar with all the fixings, think of it as a Baskin Robins under the tent.

Good afternoon, tribe! Quaby - What file type do you use for your patterns? We use ACDsee for our photos. It seems like there is a shareware version available (or at least that’s how we got started). I like it, because you can have part of your screen showing thumbnails of the files in that folder, and a larger window showing the one you’ve selected. Also much easier to look from one file to the next, merely by double-clicking, and then hitting the space bar to advance to the next one (or backspace to reverse).

Oh, Quaby…..LOVE this lunch buffet!!!

I’ll mosey on up to the buffet and visit with everyone, and enjoy a medium rare steak at the same time. Oh……mashed potatoes and brown gravy!!! you’re my kind of chef!!!!!

Hi, Sojo! I recently bought some little bitty flashlights that can be fastened to your fingers with velcro at the east Wal-Mart. There were 4 in the box, but I liked them so well, I tried to buy more. I hope they don’t sell out of them before I can buy more of them, because they were in the seasonal stuff. I replaced the velcro with a piece of elastic to make it more comfortable, but otherwise, I think they’re great. I hadn’t thought about using them with the computer keyboard at night, but that might work. If I’m at home, it isn’t any big deal to turn on a light, but when I’m traveling with someone, many times I get up before everyone else and surf until they get up.

@Rmom, I’m not sure I know enough about it, but that’s the explanation the cognoscenti among us settled on.

Sojo - I try to have night lights to see my way, but this is so much more convenient. I’m thinking these will be really handy when I’m not at my own house. (We’re going to FL for Christmas, so there’s going to be several nights somewhere other than home in the near future.)

Oh my gosh! You all are on my TV. Since I connected my hard drive to it.

RMom Most of the patterns are from magazines and books like Bead and Button, Bead Style and such. The files are Adobe pdf.

I think bmonk’s white for Christmas. I’m 2 to 5 hours’ drive north of him, in Darkest Saskatchewan, and we’ve had white since before Halloween. I think the City has blown its snow clearing budget already this winter. And winter hasn’t even officially started!

I was trying for a celebration cake to share with everyone. Sorry. Mean time dept had their congrats to boss who retired and former boss brought his family a lot of hugs and pictures. Boss is now retired. Now wonder what the new boss will be like. Invitations where sent out to a lot of people who have been off for medical reason, retired, or due to health reason part time. Me I am part time not to health reasons at all.

Montana Lady I have relatives in Raleigh and have strong ties to Durham. One of my sisters lived there for a number of years and I generally like the variety the state offers…..Coastline, mountains, etc.

I live in Missouri A little south of I-70 east of Kansas City. I really like it here!!!! BUT ONLY A 5% CHANCE OF A WHITE CHRISTMAS HERE No rain, Little Sis.

If I survive the other courses not sure how employers will feel about someone not A rated. It’s early. Myself I am not ready for the first snow, for way its been cooling down ground serface will not stay warm. Any snow will stick. At least no bad weather.

ACDsee is photo software. No thank you, not when you can download the ‘reader’ copy of Adobe.

Quaby - ACDsee won’t work with the Adobe PDF files anyway. But it works great for my photos, comics and other stuff I save like that on my hard drive. But if you’ve got PDF files, then Adobe Reader will work for what you’re doing.

Quaby & HopeandJoy Occasionaly I might give a brief letters of town though town were I’m at still a big location I try not to give out more then necessary. I am off and on the site. Watching tapes. Yah, RMom Reading back I think I sounded like I was dissing ACDsee. I’m not, the first stupid thing that popped into my mind was photographing the pages, which probably wouldn’t work anyway. There are a jillion programs and apps out there, if one won’t work for your stuff there’s another that will. I don’t work that much with photos, but the printed pages, that I do work with, at work and here.
