Hi, tribe! Digital & Doc - I feel the same way about those two. When my sister got my mom hooked on watching them, we quit coming over while either one was on TV.

Doc - LOL! I just read that CO is getting some nasty weather. CO Springs 80 mph winds? That’s windy even by KS standards. And up to 8 feet of snow on the western side of the Rockies? Yikes! I’m glad we’re not going that direction for Christmas.

Some days ago, Grog, known to me as Fellow Baby had inquired about Carmy. She had not posted for a while. It was not appropriate at that time, to reveal what was going on. I and some of us, JFri, Cleo, Akenta, johnnydoc, Shikamoo, TabbyLynn, Marg have known Carmy for a long time (for myself, I can say 2 years). Myself and the aforementioned, have exchanged more than just postings on gocomics, we have shared our lives, our ups and downs, good times, much laughter and much fun. Some of us originally met at Winnie the Pooh then as we got bigger, we moved on to Prickly City, then Big Top. We were the original Tribe as they call it. Carmy, after a very long 4 year battle with cancer, has lost the fight. Such courage and strength, and faith in God I have never seen in anyone before. She was and is, an inspriation to all of us. And her sense of humor never waivered, even in the most difficult of moments, she found something to hang on to, to believe in and to laugh at. It’s hard for some to imagine how close one can become to someone they have never met in person. I have no reply to that, except that the chemistry is just there. Carmy was a wonderful, kind, courageous lady, a loving mother and wife, and you girl, were a wonderful Girlfriend! and with that I will say, for myself, “I’ll see ya’ when I see ya’, to which Carmy would reply “Not if I see you first!” You my friend shall be missed by your friends, your Locos, more than you know! Thank you for inviting us into your life and being the loving, caring friend we knew and loved.

Marg wanted to add the following: “I didn’t get the pleasure of knowing Carmy for as long as Dry did, but I liked her right from the very start. She was feisty, funny, brave, and had a big heart. She loved her girls as much as a Mother could. I shall always think of her with her machetes, ready to do battle against evil, just like a comic strip heroine. We miss you, our well loved friend.”

Dry - Thanks for letting us know. Carmy will be greatly missed. I did know she was fighting cancer, but it is never easy to lose a friend.

Hello all ones from KS I think knows this. Local news with CEO from Hawker Beechcraft made a major announcement. Hawker Beechcraft is staying in ICT for at least not sure for next 10 to 20 years. KS will be paying incentive also allow for technological improvements. Hawker Beechcraft has promised not to leave KS and not relocate to Louisana. Me wonders if they have analyized so how expensive it will be to tear down and relocate. This means 7000+ workers will have jobs.

Doc - Snow is probably a better way of getting moisture in the mountains than the rain that CA is getting. Here in the flatlands, I’d prefer rain, as long as it isn’t freezing rain. We don’t have to worry about mudslides. Kab - Thanks! We leave Thursday morning and should arrive Friday evening. (Stay one night in a motel - already made the reservation.) At least it looks like we’ll get out of KS before the snow shows up in our area of the state.

I would like to say something more to Drys post.

i would like to add that she was like a mom to me, she was there for me and she loved me as a daughter. she was the best friend i could ask for. i miss her much. But i know she is in a better place, her faith never weavered. she was strong and brave, for us and for her children. I love her so much. I once told her that i was there to help her with the girls and just hug her and tell her it would be okay, to which she replied, that she would be the one hugging me and telling me it would be okay. that was carmy, strong. i love her dearly

Doc - Sleep while you’ve got the opportunity!

I knew Carmy before we started posting here at Big Top, but it was here that I really got to know her and it was here that she developed into a very dear friend. gocomics has been a venue that has introduced me to many dear friends. My life has been made richer, by the friends that I have made here. I will never forget Carmy and her warm humor or her kind words when one of us would be touched with sadness. She was a special lady and I was lucky to call her a friend.

Tabby - I’m sure losing Carmy will be tough on you. I know it wasn’t easy to lose my mom. But we can be glad that they are no longer suffering, and enjoying heaven now.

Good Afternoon, Tribeandall Fellow Baby, thank you for keeping me posted, as sad and depressing this new may be – especially this time of year. You will be missed Carmy. I loved your sense of humor and the occasional hugs that you gave to fellow Tribe members in need. I will also miss our discussions about our classic movie favorites. I will especially think of you every time I watch an Abbott & Costello movie from my collection. My heartfelt condolences go out to Carmy’s familiy & Friends. (((Carmy, Family & Friends)))

Being a relative newcomer I never had the good fortune of reading any of Carmy’s contributions but it is obvious from the comments by so many of her friends that the world is indeed a poorer place without her. My sincere prayers are offered for Carmy, her family and all who knew her.

Since I have been away all day, I only just got the news of my good friend Carmy. I wanted to come here to pay tribute, as this is where I met her. We had hilarious parties and funny Tribal gatherings. I will always picture her with her machetes swinging and her infectious good humour.

My prayers go out for her family. Hello to all of Carmy’s friends here. Good to see you here and around the toons.

Saucy - It is good to see you again! Yes, it will be a hard Christmas for her family and friends. My Dad was in ICU between Dec, 8th and when he died on the 26th (nine years ago). That made a very somber Christmas that year, so I can relate with what her family will be going through. It is never easy, but it is rougher right at Christmas.

On a lighter note, those of you who like (or don’t like) fruitcake, you may like this!

I know what you mean, Rmom. I lost my Mom 5 years ago almost to the day.

This rain is to much. I missed the Lunar Eclipse the other night because of this cloudy rainy weather, and there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight.

Little Sister - I saw the news about the rain around your area, it would be nice if you could send some my way. Does it cause problems with your job? I’ve had a good day. It was almost too cold for me to run my errands but I made it fine. Cold bothers me more than most.

I was a lot busier than I wanted to be. Work interfered with fun. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. The problem with the auditors is they seem to ask the same questions over and over, hoping to see if you change your story.

Hello BT tribe. As I said earlier I did know Carmy that well. What a wonderful tribute you all gave to a wonderful lady. You all could set aside a Memorial to Carmy in her honor those who knew her well listing her tributes. Some I know have already did this. Let some of know whom we didn’t know what we missed on this dear departed lady.

We finally had our dept office Christmas party and I need one more gift for the new boss.

Little Sister - About average temp for this time of year. No rain, snow etc. for a month, getting very dry. Might have about 1/10 inch rain in two days maybe? A lot of overcast days but no rain.
